More important than any election, Torin Dorn needs a nickname before the regular season tips off, or his feels will surely be hurt. Is “Major League” too obvious? What else do people have in mind?
I have been contemplating it. Do we do it based on his play, ie Buckets or do it based on name ie Frenchie? Deciding before the season makes can make it forced as opposed to being organic.
I was kicking about some name based ones because nothing about his actual game stands out. Dorn Free. Dorn to be Wild. Natural Dorn Killer (too close to GFK but could morph into something like Natty or the Natural). I had one off the wall one, Tron.

When was the last time Wolfpack MBB only gave up 23 points in the first half ???Life has gotten in the way of sports. Hopefully I will be watching more basketball than football. I also cut the cord so I have to figure out how to watch our games.
That is impressive. Watching it, was it because of good defense or a bad team? In the first exhibition, we were burned by dribble drive until we switched to a zone. Defense will determine this teams ceiling. And DSJ is a baaaaad man.BTW what happened to Dorn and is he OK?
I will never understand how anyone could have seen THAT GAME – against an ok, not great, FSU side…and thought giving away a home win in Year Four is something that is a positive that merits more time.

Our football program is a mess and I see nothing that makes me think it will get any better anytime soon.

oh he’s gone.. you can’t just lose to Boston College, who broke a 12 game ACC skid today, during home coming. They better fVcking buy an iPhone and let Siri coach if they can’t afford anyone else. This train wreck has run its course. There’s no buzz around the program. At least with Siri coaching there’d be a buzz.

Truly the sky is the limit, but….everything we want is at the end of a single elimination tournament. Even the best teams have bad days.
Good consistent coaching and a system (i.e. UVA) will eventually win something where depending on the ebb and flow of your talent puts pressure on the years when you have the talent, like this year for us.
This year will tell us a lot about Gott’s ceiling. He has secured talent not seen in these parts for quite a while.
Guarded optimism from me.
Apparently coaches don’t expect much from us. Not a single vote. 11 other ACC teams received votes. NCSU not a single one.
