RickKeymaster
The only important question left to be answered today is ….
“Do we finish this game strong and going away or do we limp into the locker room with a modest win??”
Given toys team lost to wake and central, nothing is guaranteed
RickKeymasterRick I’ve been saying the same thing but have been told numerous times:
1. Our super transfer Lacey will work out where no transfer has before.
2. Our freshmen players will improve magically as Sophomores more so than ever has before.
3. Our midrated incoming freshmen will carry the load more than the current midrated freshmen have this year.I have seen the twins play. They are going to carry any offensive load.
Yeah no way all of those thing happenRickKeymasterHow are we going to score next year?
No buckets and no shooters
RickKeymasterCome on Ric ….
Nothingtoworryabout….Mr. Dog already called the WIN for the Pack in that game….
Lololololol
Yeah right
RickKeymasterIts a yawner because this is bad basketball. Yes I’m still watching but barely holding my attention beyond Buckets play.
I will not watch a single second of the game vs UNC. Why? I already know the outcome and how it’ll play out.
I am guessing Hess and Luckie will bend us over.
RickKeymasterI wake up to hear the Sixers taking about unc.
How have we looked?
RickKeymaster^Rick shows up — kids get sloppy — and the Hokies go on a run…
Go figure….Lol
Sounds about rightRickKeymasterHello Ric …. how’s it hanging… bro ???
Still GOTT that hangover ??It has been a week since I could stomach a basketball game, so pretty good
RickKeymasterI coached two kids games this morning and am just waiting until we go to the circus.
I am planning in napping
RickKeymasterLOL BJD…I never doubted ya.
Rick on the other hand….I fear his psyche was permanently damaged with ‘Cuse.
I have dedicated my time to watching something less scripted, like professional wrestling.
I have lost almost all enthusiasm for college basketball which used to be my favorite sport the world. The refs just have too much impact ing this sport
02/19/2014 at 8:01 AM in reply to: Inconsistent Wolfpack Falls Flat In Littlejohn: Clemson 73 – NC State 56 #41724RickKeymasterI did not watch as I knew what would happen.
The Sorryexcuse game was a season killer ala the Damon Thornton charge call. We could lose out. This league is crap.
RickKeymasterI remember the SFN article as I wrote it.
Head of ACC Officials Confirms UNC is a “team that doesn’t foul much”
RickKeymasterLet’s simmer down fellas.
But I do take the side of p(Rick)? here. One call doesn’t determine a game. One call with 14 seconds left most ASSUREDLY causes an outcome to become more likely. As I said when I wrote the article, had that been the call in the first half, it probably would have been forgotten. However, it was so pivotal in its nature that it is dishonest to shrug it off as “oh it was one call”.
I am pretty sure he is refering to me.
IMO it goes far past that one call as the entire hal was questionably called but the response from the ref excusers seems to be “eh, it happens” when the whole point is that it should ot happen. It woud be one thing to believe there were not bad calls but to agree there are bad calls but to say it should not matter that we should have won anyway is mind boggling to me. We should expect a fairly called game. Not one without mistakes but one that is fair and that game was not called fairly.
RickKeymasterI am still irate about it. I am to the point of not even caring about NCSU athletics. Why bother we are not going to be allowed to win.
I will make one more point though.
1) Anyone who has a job knows exactly what his or her boss wants. The ACC wants marque matchups like the Duke/Syracuse game to promote the league. You cannot tell me that does not factor into all this.
2) The head of the ACC refs has publicly made statements about watching tendencies and that Duke and UNC are known to not commit fouls. This is a fact and is on record. I am sure they have studied tendencies of Syracuse and come to the same conclusion.
2) Would you publicly embarrass your boss by proving him wrong? We have a leauge that has proven it favors the top teams to the detriment of the others.
RickKeymasterSo, we need to make ourselves the “better” team.
Chicken and egg scenario.
RickKeymasterI generally stick to discussing how the game was played, or might have been played, versus called because it’s what you can control as players and coaches
How do YOU control anything? I feel your opinion on this is intellectually dishonest. You amdit there were questionable calls but say it has no outcome on the game. You can have the last word because I am done discussing this with you.
RickKeymasterWhite sis,
Explain the nineteen to four free throw disparity in the second half since youth .com to think officiating had nothing to do with it.This was just another of the acc screw jobs we have been getting for years. You can nIt pick every mistake the players make but the reality is they did what they had to to win but the refs would not let them and all of the exonerations from the self loathing ref lovers will not erase that.
Unfortunately though the incompetent refs did steak it.
Acc sucks
RickKeymasterWatch a replay and you can clearly see TJ had begun his shooting motion when fouled. Not sure why someone would say the refs got that call right. That was one of the more obvious blunders I’ve seen in a while.
Cuz they learned how to play basketball by shooting it in a peach basket and did not bother boning up on the new rules?
RickKeymasterI saw enough to know we turned it over too much coming down the stretch, took some quick and bad shots, and didn’t get it into the hands of our best scoring option. And the zebras didn’t impact that at all, smartass. As for the continuation call, I’m with cowdog. Thought it was the right call when it was made. Thought it was the right call after seeing the replay. Plenty of questionable calls in the game on both sides. That wasn’t one.
When one team has to make shots and the other only has to make FTs there is no wonder we had more turnovers. Again, you seem to think we have to play a perfect game in order to get a fair shake from the refs. Battered wife syndrome I guess.
You may think the last call was good but both Jules and Corch disagree with you. But hey what do they know.
And how many “questionable calls went against SU? I mean they were only called for 5 fouls for the entire second half. How many of those could have possibly been bad?
They shot 19 FTs to our 4 in the second half. Oh yeah no bias there.
RickKeymasterI did not realize a team was required to play a perfect game in order to expect competent nonbiased officiating. Apparently if you miss a free throw or turn the ball over once it is OK for the refs to call crap calls. Wow
RickKeymasterCorch says the last call was wrong too but what would he know about basketball?
RickKeymasterI would leave this corrupt crap hole of a conference in a minute.
Remember boheim helps k coach the Olympic team. You think that had nothing to do with their instant acc darling status?
RickKeymasterThe acc wants it’s marquee matchups and will do anything top keep them.
Sure was in the bonus with more than twelve minutes left inn the game and inn the double bonus with right.
We NEVER were I’m the bonus in the second half. His is out possible that the team taking the entire half never got called for any fouls?
Screw the acc
RickKeymasterThe second most interesting Stat from last night’s game….
from the ESPN.com writeup…
NC State averages an ACC-high 37.0 points per game in the paint. The Wolfpack score 52% of their points in the paint, the second-highest percentage among major conference teams behind USC (53%)
Wonder what we could do if we had a dominate big man ???
selah…
If we had a dominating big man the acc would have him on the bench in foul trouble every game.
RickKeymasterSome people should know where the zones Boeheim, every brother in the sun wants to try and run with.
How many times do I have to float it over your head?
I learned football from Holtz. Basketball and baseball from a short lifetime with my old man.
Much the same as quite a few, still living coaches.
I’m doing my best to not kick your ass all over the place, and pre- pre-empt my f’n pompous nature that wants to question your knowledge.!
You sure are the internet tough guy. Threatening to kick ass all the time. A former all acc player of the year disagrees with your assessment of that last call but in your mind I am sure you think you know more than him too.
