Abu is definitely coming back. But he’s going to need help.

I think we hang with them for the 1st two minutes.

I’m too dependent on Apple (iPad, Mac, Apple TV), so I have the 6 Plus. I’m finding it hard to get used to the larger size.

I think I’m getting hosed by ATT. $190 for three lines, 15G shared data with rollover.

Further to Tau837’s point, the 1st round of the 2017 draft is projected to include 10 point guards (including our own Dennis Smith Jr), while the 2016 draft has only 4. This is a lean year for point guards in the draft, and I think the demand will be high.

Freshmen can be frustrating. Mav makes a 3 to put us up by 3, then he fouls, misses a layup, commits a turnover, fouls, misses a 3 pointer, makes a 2, then makes a 3. It’s like being on a roller coaster.

Cat is definitely too small to be an NBA shooting guard. That’s why you get so many undersized SGs coming into college wanting to play the point, such as Rodney Purvis.

Dennis has said he can play with another point guard as long as the guy is a dynamic player, and Cat certainly is that. But I just don’t see Cat returning.

Cat was the only reason I kept going to the games, and he was the only reason I stayed to the end of each game. Like everyone else, I sure hope he comes back, but I can understand why he would go.

I’m glad the NBA extended their deadline. Cat will be able to attend the combine, and hopefully get good advice from the NBA scouts. He will also need to ignore what any potential agents tell him. I think he goes though. Small ball is a hot trend in the NBA these days, and PGs like Cat are highly coveted. He also has family responsibilities that are likely weighing heavily on him. I’m guessing late 1st round, 25ish.

A backward step for Moxley, but this was a move that was made purely for health reasons. The man needed to get away from the rigors of travel and recruiting. A nice gesture by Gott and the university to do this.

I agree, they could easily lose on Tuesday. I think everyone is ready for this season to end.

In terms of next year, we will be fine at the guard and wing positions whether Cat leaves or not. I don’t think a 1st year Smith will be better than a 3rd year Cat, but Henderson and Dorn will add quality depth. I am positive Rowan will be better, and the Martins are excellent role players. But the big gaping hole is down low. Abu is turning into a rebounding and scoring machine, but it ends there. Beejay has hand of stone, he can’t score or rebound. And I’m not sure what kind of contribution we will get from Freeman, maybe he won’t even see the floor. I don’t know what Gott can do to fix it, but he needs to do something. It’s been said many times before, losing Bam was a crushing blow.

As to this offseason I would bet we see at least one “WTF” departure.

Didn’t you already predict that Shaun Kirk would transfer out?

    Haha. Kirk and everyone else:

“History says there will be at least one. We can speculate. Too many 3’s next year. Mav or the Martins leaving? Anya just totally quitting the game would be something I can see. His heart is clearly not in it.”

“Odds of not being on the 2016-2017 NCSU bball team
    Cat 100%
    Abu 80%
    Anya 50%
    Twins 40%
    Kirk 100%
    Mav 50%”

“If I was a betting man I would wager the twins transfer, we most likely lose Cat and either Abu or Anya.”

    I’ll just stop there.

I think those are all “Hail Mary” targets, but you never know. I do know unless he brings in one or two bigs, Abu could be next year’s version of Cat Barber. I wouldn’t count on Freeman, and Beejay has proven to be pretty one dimensional.

Gott has pulled rabbits out of his butt in the past, and he sure will need one or two of those rabbits next year.

On an unrelated note, State picked up a commitment in the 2017 class from Grant Gibson a DT from Mallard Creek. Most places have him as a 3 star, Rivals rated him a 4 star. Regardless, Mallard Creek is becoming a great pipeline for us.

I absolutely agree. Leave it out on the floor and call it a season. Too many guys are way too banged up, and it’s plain to see from the past few games Cat is mentally and physically exhausted.

For me there is one huge question. Is the coach just a stepping stone to bigger and better things for the program, or is he the answer? I know a lot already have strong opinions on that. I’m leaning towards the former, but will give it one more season to decide for sure.

Next season for me needs to be top 5 in the ACC, and absolutely no bubble talk at the end of the season. Plus a significant ramp-up in 2017 recruiting.

I wonder what Kirk must be thinking when the coach is playing one-legged guys instead of him. He’s my candidate for an end of year transfer.

Brissett with the 2nd slowest 40 time for QBs which is no big deal, but Grinnage had the slowest time for TEs which is a bigger deal. Interesting coincidence Jacoby, Grinnage, and Thuney were all in the 4.9s.

I agree. Put in Kirk. Put in anyone else. Freeman shouldn’t be out there. And I think Cat is officially mentally and physically worn out. Rowan with a possible stress fracture. This is ridiculous.

This is a game where we’ll miss Kyle Washington. He was perfect for finding the gap in the zone just inside the FT line, then taking a short jumper. We don’t have a player like that this year.

Right now he’s not even average. I was definitely hoping he would show better than he is.
