Okay, I agree it may not quite be Mr. Ed versus Secretariat, but the talent disparity is pretty big. I think DD is doing a terrific job, he just doesn’t have the studs yet to get the job done. Another brain freeze by their dope of a QB would certainly help though.

I have been accused by my friends of always viewing Wolfpack football and basketball with unreasonable and unrealistic optimism. With that said, and knowing home field advantage should be worth 3-7 points for us, I am picking FSU to win by 40 to 50 points.

On offense FSU has All American / NFL 1st round guys at QB, RB, TE, WR, and OL. Our defense to them will seem like Presbyterian to us.

On the other side, while encouraged by our offense, we have not played a defense like this yet. Not even close. We may score a couple TDs, but that won’t offset the 8 or 9 they are going to score.

And I did pick us to be 4-0 at the start of the season, and I do think we will win 7-8 games, just not this one. I will be getting there a little earlier than usual to make sure I am completely and utterly liquified by kick-off.

I hate that our tune-up for FSU is Presbyterian, while FSU’s is Clemson. I hope FSU and Clemson beat the hell out of each other.

Jacoby Brissett will be good. Not great, but good – and good is a far cry from abysmal. That alone will pick us up a few extra wins this year.

I also think Jalan McClendon will eventually turn out to be much better than Brissett.

I would advise anyone to try and own Jimmy Graham. The gap between him and other TEs gives you a huge advantage. Gronk won’t last two games.

It pains me to say it, but I’m predicting Giovani Bernard to be the next “it” RB, especially in PPR leagues.

Finally, 3rd year in the league with weapons to throw to, Andrew Luck is your QB.

    You’re welcome.

I think I read that Shad served out a six month suspension. If so, it was very fortuitous the six months occurred during the off-season.

Maybe Beejay read the “Summer Doldrums” thread and it scared the hell out of him.

Anyone ever play with an intramural team in the prison gymnasium?

    Hoo boy!

I’ve never had that experience, but I assume if your socks begin to droop, you don’t bend over to pull them up.

    Sorry DSD, I too overreacted.

Anyway, the article says 7-5, 4-4 in conference. I think we win all 4 non conference games, and the 4-4 in the ACC is doable, but I would flip his order. 3-5 in the ACC, 7-5 overall. I just watched a video that shows all the plays Brissett made in the spring game, and while clearly is a vast upgrade over what we had last year, I did see a few areas of concern. Accuracy (but it was only spring), decision making, and time to get rid of the ball. After watching that I have tempered my optimism somewhat, but I still think we go 4-0 in the non conference games.

Mr Simpson, So I post a link to an article related to sports team on a blog that some readers may find interesting and even start some discussion, on a blog that is craving and begging for posts and activity, that the blogger has a typo or worse yet, may not know the right name, and MY credibility is questioned? I guess I didn’t realize I had to vet a blog before posting and should not have wasted anyone’s time. Feeling thin skinned today …

LOL, I agree. We get a couple of football commitments and crickets. But a typo elicits an immediate and angry response. Raised gardens, maters. Jesus, football season can’t get here soon enough.

Another good get today. Riley Nicholson has committed to the Wolfpack and will enroll in January. He is rated as the #24 inside linebacker in the country according to ESPN.

TJ has been lighting it up in the summer league. From everything I’ve read, the Phoenix fans are excited as hell, even the ones who thought the Suns made a bad pick.

For 2015 we’ve pulled ahead of Michigan State for combo guard Eric Davis, and are 2nd behind Arizona for center Chance Comanche. Arizona may sign another center soon, which would put us in good position for him. Of course we already landed Terry Henderson from WVU. There are a few others we’re after, and I would be very surprised if we did not get one of them. Open recruiting started back up yesterday, so hopefully things will begin to heat up.

The big prize however will be in 2016 if we can land Dennis Smith. So far we are in very good shape. That one would be a grand slam.

Someone said with all the agents running around Chapel Hill you’d think PJ could find one that is certified. Funny and true.

I just heard his agent isn’t certified by the NBA. Now there’s a surprise.

That would be a $50K fine for the Hornets, and if the contract has been signed, it is null and void.

Might be the out the Hornets need.

Glad I could upgrade your understanding of the TTAP and the civil case to the lawyer/rule of law level from your previous Huffington Post level. It was quite apparent your never read and understood the rule of law in play on either case.

Why are you stirring the pot? We sort of had this back on track and were having a conversation, and now you’re being a dick.

And in far less meaningful news, we just landed a commitment from defensive end Quentez Johnson. Originally committed to Miami, we beat out Tennessee and Oregon for him. Welcome to the family!

Ah, the Friday joke never gets old. But after 2 years and a couple hundred references to it, it may be time for some new material. Hopefully this new phase of the investigation will help.
