In the last two games Cat has 51 points, 11 assists, 4 steals, and 1 turnover. I’d say he’s stepped up his game a bit. If anyone had told me he would put up those numbers against GT and Wake and we would only come away with a split, I would say they were smoking crack.

Those 11 assists also came while his teammates were shooting around 25%. Probably could have had twice as many.

Apparently they had a “players only” meeting and his TEAMMATES asked Cat to be more aggressive. Apparently so they could all take the rest of the season off (other than Lacey).

Haha. I was thinking the exact same thing. Hopefully Cat is giving them a “WTF guys?”

Yep, Manning has them playing well. It’s going to be close. I have no idea which side of close we will end up on.

I like to guess which no name with mediocre shooting stats lights us up from the three. My candidate for tonight is Cornelius Hudson. No reason other than he shoots 30% and the name Cornelius Hudson just sounds like the name of guys who do it to us.

Hopefully Ralston gets back on track and out-duels Cornelius.

No fun. Redcanine writes of staunching the bleeding.

Premier coaches practice preventive medicine. Any coach worth his salt knows ankle taping.

The figure 8 and the basketweave are the 2 most common forms of wrapping.

    …How hard was that?

Easy for people to miss. They are also 400 level courses at Carolina.

    Damn that is great news!

Didn’t someone on here say Coach D is in over his head? I’d rank that right up with Beano Cook giving Ron Powlus the Heisman trophy two games into his career.

As I mentioned on another thread, I wonder if Gallaspy will redshirt? That seems to make a lot of sense with Shad returning and Frasier coming on board. Frasier is definitely the more college ready of the two.

I think all the stars are aligned perfectly for us to get Frasier. Hynes, Gallaspy, and Frasier to go with Shad and Dayes? That is bordering on incredible.

I’m thinking maybe Gallaspy will redshirt with all the guys we’ve got. (or will have after we get Frasier). Frasier is ready to play now, and we need Hynes to play some in the slot.

Edit: Oops, wrong thread. Pretend this is in the Johnny Frasier visit thread.

I’m not even sure the kid was a student. I’m hearing he’s the son of a wealthy Miami lawyer. Probably has a block of season tickets in the front row. If so, hopefully the university takes back the tickets.

^ I’m having the same issue as well. It started yesterday. I cannot access forums from my desktop. iPhone and iPad seem to be okay though. I can only get to the SFN Home Page on my desktop. “HTTP Error 400” whatever that means.

Fewer bigs for sure, but Jekiri has taken a giant leap forward this year. He is going to be a handful. And Ivan Uceda is now back from being ineligible, and they will be working him in as well.

Thanks for the recap. I have a feeling Meyers and Simmons are going to be impact players for us before they are done.

Looks like Cat is out today due to a death in the family. Not certain, but I think his kid brother.

Speaking of Neutral that’s exactly what gear CAT stays in all the time. Man that kid drives me crazy. Lots of talent with no urgency. Great defense but virtually no offense (passing or shooting). Not very helpful from the guard spot. He drives the lane well but never does it???

I want him to do well and I like him. However, he isn’t much presence in a game. Makes no difference I guess since Gott loves him. Leave Lacey at the point and have CAT as a sub to give him a breather. Get those Martin boys in the game!!!

We just need to be patient with Cat. He’s clearly trying to figure out the right way to play, and is struggling with it. If you watched Cat in high school, you would have seen his tendency was to go 150% speed all the time. He would drive and score with ease. Gott wants him to be a facilitator, as well as a shooter, as well as a game manager, as well as push the tempo, as well as drive the lane. That’s a lot to process, but I think he will get there.

It was two fouls. Luckie had it timed pretty well. 2nd foul with 10:19 to go in the 1st half, and 4th foul with 10:05 to go in the 2nd half. The man knows what he’s doing.

And Lacey shot was off but he was 10-10 from the free throw line.

Lacey was 9 for 10. The last make was a miss.

Let me preface this by saying this was a winnable game no matter how the referees impacted it. The mental and physical letdown in the 1st half killed us. And Trevor’s off-night shooting the ball didn’t help. However, I do maintain we got “Unluckie” once again.

Last year Luckie targeted our best player (TJ) in every game he refereed. TJ fouled out or was in foul trouble in virtually every game. Last night, which two players were our hot shooters in the 1st half? Ralston and Kyle. Who ended up going to the bench in the 1st half with a couple of fouls each? Ralston and Kyle. You don’t need to call a lot of fouls or a disproportionate number of fouls to make an impact on the game. You just need to target the right guys.

Let’s say the same guy refereed the Duke game on Saturday, and gave both Trevor and Ralston two fouls early in the 1st half. Obviously you cannot predict what would have happened, but I don’t even want to think what the score would have been with those two guys missing the last 10 minutes of the half.

Some will say I’m whining (probably), and I am paranoid (definitely). I just know I wish the ACC would get that guy out of the league. I hate it every time he’s out there.

I’m hearing Paige has a bad foot, so that is something someone like Cat may be able to exploit. It might also make them more reluctant to press when he’s on the floor.

You’re right about our bigs. If they can bring it like they did against Duke, then it will be a long night for the criminals. Carolina has more size down low than Duke though, so it will be a tougher challenge.

Also, Carolina has not defended the perimeter very well this year, so hopefully Turner and Lacey have their shot working for them. They are going to get plenty of chances I think.

I always figured we would lose to Duke, then beat Carolina. I was pleasantly surprised on Sunday, and am sticking with my prediction for Wednesday. 78-69 for the good guys.
