UCONN was in a different league than the ACC teams that played today. Calhoun was a GREAT coach. The Big East was STRONG that year. Crazy good.
Reducing the teams to 8 may not be the answer, I agree. But today’s action stunk. I used to look forward to watching EVERY game in this tournament. Now, not so much. Return my cheese, please.
Well, don’t promote Wednesday action as “ACC Tournament”. These bottom tier teams don’t look very capable, the coliseum is full of echos, and it interrupts Brady’s “The Price Is Right”. I saw 3 play-in games today. Now my eyes are bleeding.

GT’s players can’t dribble. They can’t shoot either, but they really can’t dribble. Without UT transfer Trae Golden (the guard who transferred from Tennessee that was immediately eligible), they’d really suck. He’s done nothing for the Jackets, imo.

Our commish should have all referees visit each program in the summer. Go over “this is a foul”, “that’s not a foul”, “travel”, “block/charge”, and whatnot. This is how it’s gonna be called kinda stuff. Kinda like a clinic. If Ref A doesn’t show up at a school, he doesn’t get hired to do that school’s game. We’d see fewer coaches fussing with the refs, better flow to the games, and all around better basketball.
