The game is much too fast for BeeJay and Lennard. And it only gets tougher for them from the free throw line when the clock has stopped. I’m very disappointed in their production.
A car is a pretty large target. Don’t shoot towards it, unless that’s what you’re aiming at. Now they’re gonna throw the book at him. Wake County DAs.
Our wings need to start taking it to the hole more often. I see our possessions looking like we look for a quick shot from the perimeter, and if it’s not there, pass it back to Cat. So, de facto, Cat is our only threat off the dribble. Our wings need to mix a few more drives into game. Tip-slam dunk by our bigs! We aren’t gonna, haven’t been, and probably shouldn’t be passing it into the post, and the ball needs to get there some how.

We know UNC (Roy) is known for scoring quickly after an opponent’s made basket. Getting the ball in VERY quickly helps prevent the defense from setting up the trap and fortifying the time line. Meeks is great at that. He sorta backpedals to the inbounds line while keeping his eyes down court. IMO,it begins there. Plus, IMO, we need to give the inbound passer some space (like 20 feet or so) so that he can make a pass with a little steam behind it.
Pressing teams are athletic teams. Play your most athletic players and you have a chance.

I’m more upset about the loss to Wofford than to WV, fwiw.
In a game as violent as the one Saturday night, it bothers me that we didn’t get into any shoving matches or scrums along the way. If we had, and still lost, I could say that we’d given it our best shot.
Montrezl Harrell mixed it up against a little team like Eastern Kentucky. That’s what’s supposed to happen when you or your teammates gets violated. I’m not blessing his punch attempt (if that’s watcha call it), but I am applauding his court enforcement. He’s got a lot of Richard Howell in him. We’re missing that. And it doesn’t necessarily have to come from a post guy. Rondo plays point, and he doesn’t take any sh!t.
I guess once the X&O’s become instinctive, our player’s minds can focus on what’s happening and react to it instead of worrying about where to stand.
Our big men, if Gott continues to play two at a time, need to pay attention to what is happening to their teammates. Did any of them NOTICE Cat getting choke-slammed all game? If not, what were looking at, because it wasn’t the guy with the ball. If so, why stand idly and not “tag yourself in”.
