RaisedByWolvesParticipant
This was a heart-breaker, for sure. I’m going to miss this team and wish the best for all our seniors. I am still excited about the direction of the program. Congratulations to Coach Moore and the team on a great season.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantThat ensemble is STUNNING.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantExciting game going on right now between the Lady Pack and the cheats on ESPN2. We were down early and quickly, by as much as 17 points in the first quarter or early second quarter (mercifully, I missed this part since I thought the game started at 2:00), but the team has fought back to lead by three at the half!
RaisedByWolvesParticipantFor those in the Raleigh area, Pack women’s game against Wake is currently on Fox Sports South. We are up 16-8 at the end of the first quarter. (A rule change this year has them playing 4 quarters instead of 2 halves, with two foul shots at 5th team foul in each quarter.)
RaisedByWolvesParticipantDoes Dick Vitale have any plans to retire?
RaisedByWolvesParticipantTwo thoughts:
1) SMH at Swofford quote: “…removing themselves from any men’s basketball postseason opportunities is both proactive and significant…We fully support their decision.” (Yeah, I bet you do – makes the light blue path forward a little easier in March.) The hypocrisy is stunning.
2) One need look no further than the state of the UNC women’s basketball program to see what the consequences of a pending NCAA NOA *should* be on a program. They’ve gone from being a powerhouse to being 2-7 in the league so far this year. In a just world, we would be seeing a similar pattern with men’s basketball and football. And yet I read in today’s N&O that Fedora says the cloud has lifted.RaisedByWolvesParticipantSpeaking of resounding victories, the women’s team just beat the Holes 78-49. That’s not a typo. I believe that brings us to 7-2 in the league, while the Holes fall to 2-6.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantBJD, you might like to check out Visions of Victory, by Gerhard Weinberg. There is a chapter on each of eight major wartime leaders during WWII and “compares their visions of the future assuming their side had emerged victorious.” I haven’t gotten to the Churchill chapter, but I’m comfortable recommending it nonetheless, as I’ve read other things by Weinberg and have attended several seminars that he’s given, all very enjoyable. He is brilliant and knows EVERYTHING about WWII.
There is also a chapter on Stalin, of course, if you have a Lenin-adjacent interest there.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantWait. Feigning?
RaisedByWolvesParticipantBJD, what is the good book?
RaisedByWolvesParticipantPack women just beat Pitt on the road in 3 overtimes!
RaisedByWolvesParticipantThe gray uniforms are badass. Sort of cyborg-looking.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantOur garden consists of whatever volunteers pop out of the compost pile. The annual harvest usually consists of about 10 cherry tomatoes, of which we are inordinately proud. We do not plan to do any canning. 🙂
RaisedByWolvesParticipantAw man…”A Few Good Men” on, now I’m torn.
Theatre Raleigh doing AFGM in June. But will not have Jack Nicholson to my knowledge.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantI will never get tired of that Southwest commercial where the girl is dancing at all the weddings.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantState/UNC Sweet 16 worst case scenario averted:
(We win/they lose) > (We win/they win) > (We lose/they lose) > (We lose/they win)
Go Pack!
RaisedByWolvesParticipantBut my cable signal almost was. Rebooting the system now. Hope Scary Wheat has caught up by the time it comes up.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantI do not care for how this ND-Wichita State game is going.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantThose in Cary who enjoy English-style beer should check out Fortnight Brewery. I may head over there tonight myself and pick up a growler of my favorite Coffee Amber for tomorrow night.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantGreat game! My crazy fantasy bracket is now performing better than my reasonable one.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantI understand that most on here are NC State fans, but, like most others out there, you are taking Villanova lightly at your own peril. Villanova (13-1, #4 RPI) had more Top 50 RPI games than NC State (4-8, #40 RPI), and played in the #2 ranked conference in the country (behind the Big 12). Finally, you ignore advanced and more predictive ratings such as offensive and defensive efficiency, where Villanova (7 Off., 13 Def.) clearly dominates NC State (55 Off., 134 Def. ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOURTH IN DEFENSIVE EFFICIENCY). If it is just your opinion as a fan that NC State is going to win, that’s what fans do, but opinion should have some basis in reality, and the reality is that Villanova is clearly the favorite tomorrow night.
Umm, we know that. But there’s a reason they play the game rather than awarding the victory ahead of time based on prior stats. Let us have our fun.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantHarvard up by one!
03/19/2015 at 2:53 PM in reply to: It’s Time For “The Greatest Show On Earth” For NC State Hoops #80419RaisedByWolvesParticipantSo, PoorDecisionMakingRobLowe made a good decision. Does that mean we should stick with cable?
RaisedByWolvesParticipantStill have the game on but have shifted my primary focus to a more pleasurable activity: tax preparation.
Like GoWolves, I still love this team.
RaisedByWolvesParticipantI was wrong about the State cap thing.
