Iām not as sure that the search will be over as soon as next week. I donāt see coaches climbing over each other to be chosen.
Not seeing coaches do anything is a good sign. Means the search is being undertaken more professionally than last time.

As a student from ’76 to ’80, our favorite game was the ECU game. Party weekend. We used to say the ECU game was for students and the uncch game was for alumni.

Actually Alias, I hope Gottfried wins multiple ACC and NCAA championships and is here for many, many years.
I hate seeing the term “hater” thrown around anytime there is a difference of opinion.
Alias, I am 57 years old. I saw State win championships in 74 and 83. I would like to see State win another before I die. Sure, Lowe came close but finishing at the bottom of the conference and sneaking into the championship game is not a plan for success. You have to build a winner. Maybe Gottfried can do that but I doubt it. It’s starts with balanced recruiting. Are we doing that?
In a way it reminds me of Amato. He brought in some very good players but did not have a balanced roster. Therefore he put players in the NFL but couldn’t win a championship.
I do not believe Gottfried can win a championship at State. Too many flaws in his approach. That said, I am not ready to fire him regardless of what the remainder of the season brings. He’s an above average coach having a bad year. Let’s see if he can get us in the top third of the conference next year with Smith, Henderson, Dorn, Abu, the Martins and an improved Rowan.
Itās funny when you think about those sanctions, it is about like the hand that Gott and staff voluntarily dealt themselves this year, and seemingly will next year as well. It is baffling really.
Exactly. That’s what I don’t understand about Gott’s recruiting. Give out the 13 scholarships. Yes, some will transfer but the cream will rise to the top. At least we will have enough players to practice.
