ABC11 reported on the 6:00 broadcast tonight that two independent sources have confirmed that Gottfried will be fired at the conclusion of the season, and that it almost happened after Saturday’s fiasco. Feelers have reportedly been sent to Archie Miller’s camp to gauge interest. NCSU is, of course, denying the report….
Too much damned dribbling. Most of the turnovers are coming from Illinois getting their hands on the ball while our four guard lineup tries to go all Curly Neal out there.
Couple of keys:
1) Is the Turk as good as advertised, and can he hold his own in the paint as a freshman ? May take a couple of years in a weight room for him to truly blossom.
2) If Anya had been mature enough to continue his weight loss program, and been serious about improving and helping this team, State might have had a chance for a Top 4 finish in the league. Instead, he ballooned up to 350 lbs, so he’ll be an absolute waste (waist ?) of space this year, again.
Even without a positive contribution from Baby Huey, this team should be in the fight for a Top 4 spot. As rye said above, the talent won’t get any better.
No greater ambassador for the game of golf. A class act who never passed up a chance to sign autographs or smile for a picture. My mother had a life-long crush on him, and my dad didn’t mind a bit !

‘Ole Roy’ looked about 110 last night after the game. That one took a lot out of him. I had to work, so wasn’t able to watch the game, and was too afraid of jinxing ‘Nova to record it. Sounds like it was a classic…
I’m just DELIGHTED that the NCAA’s little Roy Williams Retirement Party got blown up – no banner to hang or ring to wear off into his ‘Golden Parachute Before The Hammer Falls’ sunset.
C’mon, NCAA…. No excuses for any more delays. Death Penalty, please !
Plus, Manning will have success landing talented big men, because he’ll know how to develop them, which nobody on Gott’s staff has shown they can do.
Clean house tonight, back the Brinks truck up to Dayton tomorrow, and offer Archie whatever it takes. This is inexcusable.

Pretty sad that it’s still January, and our ceiling is playing ‘standings spoiler’ this season. The best we can do is mess up someone’s tourney seed.
Gott better hope that Henderson (if he returns), Smith, and Dorn are all second comings of Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, and Russell Westbrook, or next year will be just as dismal.

But yes, it’s a much improved schedule over last year ! A chance to do to Bill & Mary’s football team what their Men’s BB Team did to ours, and a tune up over Old Dominion prior to the bye before home games with WFU and ND.

BassPacker’s spot on – can’t afford to frequently take the family to Canes games, and will make other choices when the team is as bad as it is currently. Love watching good NHL games, but we’re just not seeing that st PNC recently.
