PapaWolfParticipant
’88 – I am sure you said what a bunch of us were thinking. Too good to be true, and worried about playing with a lead.
At the beginning of the second half one of the guys I was watching with said, “C’mon Percy, take it to the house.” And that was the end of the game.
PapaWolfParticipantGloom And Doom
I dread this game every year. I don’t see this State team as being the one to break the string, as much as I love them.Let’s just keep it within 20, no more 30 point massacres. And hope nobody gets hurt. We need the WF game.
PapaWolfParticipantAmazing analysis, thank you!
PapaWolfParticipant“…do you really have an advantage when you suck less than the other team?”
Great line! And one that keeps the Pack faithful pondering year after year.
We need to get this one, but it’s hard to see it happening for me. We barely got by GT (the last second shot by the opposition balance had to be restored).
I’ll be one of the few, the proud, the obnoxious tonight at PNC. But I expect to go home angry and discouraged.
PapaWolfParticipant^ wow, snark much?
We’ve won two conference games in a row. Man, you must be really miserable after a loss.
Hate the coach?
Hate the some or all of the Players?
Hate the refs?Hate basketball?
PapaWolfParticipantI’m excited by what we are seeing.
In the pre-game Sunday, the GT coach said (paraphasing) “They are a good team, just very young and inconsistent. They need to work on consistency.”
Before the Duke game Coach K said in the pre-game, “They are a really good team. They’re just very young and need experience.”
Back in pre-season the Pack press generally said, “The team has a lot of talent, but they are young and will have some bad nights.”
Gott told us before the season began, “This is a very young team. We are building the foundation for the future. But they are going to be fun to watch”
Guess what? On the nose, four for four.
PapaWolfParticipantWell crap. I had really hoped this might be a week in which we looked a little better in comparison to the competition.
Got to have this one.PapaWolfParticipantDidn’t I see that dance on Seinfeld?
Who cares? It’s great to see everyone smiling and Gott in the middle of it. Great video, thanks for posting.
PapaWolfParticipantAgree, and perhaps TJ was not happy because Gott kept him on the bench – in the best interests of both TJ and the team.
I’ve got no major complaints about last night. Could we have played better, yes we could. They got too many open threes. Had we defended the three better, the game would not have been close. But that’s the deal. We shut down Wells pretty well, and missed those open shots from the corner. We also could have rebounded better. They out rebounded us by 9.
But we played all 8 guys at least 10 minutes. Every player scored and everyone but Tyler got a rebound.
Coach K said he thought we were a really good team. I think he’s right, we’ve just got to put all of the pieces together. It’s going to take time. I still think we are an NIT team this year, but we’re going to be a handful next year and the year after if we can just keep everyone in Raleigh. (excepting, of course, TJ)
PapaWolfParticipantHELP!
How do you add a picture?PapaWolfParticipantNah, we won’t lose by 27. Too easy!! We’d all get home early, avoid the traffic, and blow off the rest of the season. It is our lot to suffer. Tied with 5 minutes left, lose by 10. Dez Wells eats us up.
VaWOlf – Totally agree. Syracuse, UVA, Duke, Pitt, and UNC are out of reach for us this year. We’ve got to earn any respect with wins against GT, FSU, Miami, Wake (crap!), Clemson, BC and start tonight against Maryland.
