HA!
NAV- did the same thing. I know DG is doing his official campus visit today so my brain was looking for something about his visit.Good luck to Mister Torian, perhaps he’s more comfortable as a big fish in a small gym.

Really? What’s it been, five years of Sid and three of Gott? Eight years and still thinking about Sendek and/or AZ State?
PapaWolfParticipantNope. This is unusual. It happens, and is always a risk, but not very often in my experience. And I’ll bet it is especially infrequent in a half marathon.
I’ve run six half marathons and three full, and never seen any deaths. These are very difficult to do, and people throw up, get injured, get attended to by EMTs, some are hospitialized (often for dehydration), and some quit, at every race. But not death.
However it was rough weekend for running. It was hot and the pollen affected the efficiency of breathing. I’ll be interested to hear more details.04/08/2014 at 2:30 PM in reply to: TJ Warren declares for NBA draft; future of NC State basketball #50927PapaWolfParticipantGreat for TJ! Wish him the best. Everyone has to step up next year. I think Gott’s offense works better with more balanced scoring from all postions. Hope we can deliver.
PapaWolfParticipantGood grief, just GO ALREADY!!!!!!
Let’s consider this the last we hear about ‘him’. After a year on the bench, I certainly don’t expect to see him leading a team in the tourney.PapaWolfParticipantI heard an interview with UVA’s Coach Bennett the other day. He said he came to UVA with the idea of building a high quality, consistently good, program. He brought in six guys his first year, Harris and Mitchell were two of them. The rest are gone. He’s recruited well each class, and they have improved each year. They won 16 the first year, then 22, then 23, and 30 this year. They gave MSU pretty much all they could handle in the NCAAT, even though they lost by two. He never brought in a “Jabari type”. I’m sure he would if he could, but he didn’t.
What he ended up with this year, was the best TEAM in the league and one of the best in the country. They had a great blend of maturity and talent. Miami was similar last year, guys that it seemed had been there forever.I think that is the model we’re going after. Talent across the classes. Senior leadership. It takes time. Remember we eliminated UVA from the ACCT last year and the year before. This year we couldn’t stay on the court with them.
I think we are on the right track. Now if Gott could only teach defense better.
PapaWolfParticipantWhoa! Hpack!
Very strong predictions for March 30. But I generally agree with the positive tone. We’ve got a lot of quality parts, can’t wait to see how they come together next year.I’d like to get that next recruiting class locked in. I know we have some good offers, like to hear who’s likely to sign on. Seems like a long time since we’ve heard much.
I think it was Giglio who tweeted that he thought Abu would start. If he’s right, what a line up we’ll have.
A really nice foundation for the future.
PapaWolfParticipantThat was so cool! I could watch the whole season again, or at least 22 of the games.
St Louis presents an interesting challenge. Really good coach. They start five seniors who I think have been to the NCAAT every year. So this may be the battle of the ‘most experienced’ versus the ‘least experienced.’
PapaWolfParticipantSo much for the Wake “home court advantage”
PapaWolfParticipantGood Bye Terps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PapaWolfParticipant^+ KH??? Must be some spin on Kyle’s name.
i think it’s all about fouls. If we can keep TJ on the floor, and avoid being handicapped by foul trouble, then I think we have a shot. But it will be a close game. Larrañaga is not going to let us get too far ahead.
I don’t think Miami having played yesterday hurts them. I hope our only playing game in the last 10 days doesn’t hurt us.
PapaWolfParticipantNice work, don’t know how you find the time
UCONN for #16 -keep grabbing at a piece of that NY area market
PapaWolfParticipantCongratulations TJ! Your years of hard work paid off.
PapaWolfParticipantTJ won POY! Outstanding, good for him.
PapaWolfParticipant^^^ “Jane and Dan need not debate” – good one, funny, funny SNLs.
PapaWolfParticipantHalf Empty
ACC top tier loses to lower tier teams, “top tier sucks”ACC middle tier loses to top tier and some lower tier – “middle tier sucks”
ACC lower tier sucks by definition
Half Full
ACC is better than people think (we’ll see in postseason)PapaWolfParticipantLUMPY! Genius!!
That is EXACTLY what is going to happen!!PapaWolfParticipantYup, 12 sounds about right.
PapaWolfParticipantKudos to those of you still supportive of the program.
To me, this is really year one. The last two years Gott was playing w/ Sid’s team.
This team was ranked 331 in experience in D1. They were predicted to be 10th, and we’ll probably be about that. There’s good stuff coming.

PapaWolfParticipantReally???? Gott on the hot seat???
This should be really humiliating.
Last time our noble institution had some players to offer and got no takers from real basketball coaches, so had to turn to a TV guy/former coach looking to give it another try.
This time we’ll have less on the bench to offer, and the failure of our TV guy, so now we try a radio guy? Maybe we can get Glenn, Ovies, or Gold. Or maybe a newspaper guy, like Tutor or Giglio? High school anyone? Or maybe one of the assistants, like Lutz? No doubt he’s an unrecognized genius that only we can see his real potential????Face it. Like him or hate him, we’re stuck with Gott for a while. Our best shot may be upgrading the rest of the staff.
PapaWolfParticipantWe’ve lost three by a point, we’ve won three by one shot. (Det +3, GT +2, U +1)
Relax friends, this game does not matter. We got our NIT slot locked up solid.PapaWolfParticipantI don’t think TJW benefits at all from staying longer. He’s leading the league in scoring and is seventh in rebounding. Another year won’t change that.
From the NBA’s perspective, I think that the value of success at the college level is just so they notice him. If State is better next year, that won’t help his draft stock at all. They know who he is, and what he can do.
Will his skills improve noticabley from another year in school? Not likely. He just had a better opportunity to show them this year, more time on the court, more important role on the team.
However, who is going pro at the same time could affect his NBA draft status. Unfortunately, being 6’8″ and 215, he’s a common size. A quick look at the projected top 20 this year (which does not include TJ) shows 6 guys at 6’8″ and one at 6’9″. That’s a third of the top 20, probably not uncommon.
And there is always the risk of injury in college, while you are playing for free.
We’d be crazy to not wish he’d stay, but I can’t see any reason why he would.
PapaWolfParticipantBill.onthebeach – Please let us all know where we can get some of what you are drinking / smoking / whatever. Sounds like killer stuff.
PapaWolfParticipantGoWolves – TOTALLY agree with you on Ovies and the other guy (the one that yells everything and can’t say a sentence without the word UH in it) on their show.
Just a terrible show. Stopped listening not long after they started, as soon as I realized they have no knowledge, just attitude, and only say stuff to get phone callers. Very amateurish. -
