The first two words got it exactly right, “cautious optimism.”
We are seeing week to week improvement, meaning positive influence by the coaching staff. That is encouraging for the program overall.
I expect this week’s game to be more of the same, but still looking for quality of execution on a snap-by-snap basis.
Still have no idea where that 6th win would come from to get us in a bowl. My guess is that if we get it, it will be a big upset and the highlight of this season.

I predicted six wins based on 4 weak OOC and 2 weak ACC teams. Didn’t anticipate we would be this bad.I’m calling out the coaches on this one. Not tackling?

I hope he is right. South Florida played UMD tough all the way to the end on Saturday. They forced six turnovers, two interceptions and four fumbles! So they will certainly will test our offense.I’m feeling like it’s going to take our best effort yet.

* However, if he’s looking for trophies, I have to think that State’s got to go a little farther in the NCAAT a couple of times to make a kid think that he can be the missing piece in a championship team.
* If he wants to play with the highest rated players in the country, he’ll probably lean toward UK.
* If he wants to play for the best coach in the country, he’ll lean toward DU.
* If he thinks he looks good in baby blue …. well, we know what that means.I don’t know his motivations, but unless there is something pulling him other than just recruiting, I don’t see him getting any farther west than Kentucky. I’d think the Bruins are the least likely, all things being equal.
1. Wolfman Jack would be a terrible motivational speaker!!!!
2. I like bringing this guy in. It exposes the guys to new ideas; gives them a shared, bonding experience. And if the major football powers are utilizing these guys, we want to be perceived as doing comparable things.
3. The “old guys sitting in the back of the room” are missing out on a chance to improve.How can you criticize trying any method available to get an under skilled team to play over their heads? The worst that could happen is a little time wasted. The best, maybe some guys buy in?
