Disappointing. Not surprising.
I think Kevin Sorbo said it best.
pakfanistanParticipant^^ pakfanistan….refs had no dog in this fight.
Just in case it’s not obvious, I didn’t think so.
pakfanistanParticipantGrrrrrrr! The refs always holding us down in favor of…..Clemson?
pakfanistanParticipantSo how did the refs screw us this time?
I bet we had it in the bag until a couple of pivotal calls put us down 17……………………

pakfanistanParticipantToday Nebraska, an absolute nothing in the Big Ten, went into East Lansing and emerged with a win against the highest ranked team in that league. Ask yourself the last time that was allowed to happen in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
It happens all the time, relatively speaking. The top teams in the conference are the top teams in the conference because they don’t lose very much. Last year Miami won the conference, and were blown out by Wake Forest.
pakfanistanParticipantFive point game >__<
pakfanistanParticipant80-77, UNC 63 seconds to go.
Win, lose or draw, the women are awesome.
pakfanistanParticipant27-24 UNC with 5:50 left in the first half.
pakfanistanParticipantThere seems to be the perception that teams win because they receive preferential treatment. Maybe they receive preferential treatment because they win.
Maybe the old adage is true, winning solves everything.
I don’t think that pointing to free throw discrepancy is necessarily the be all end all measure of whether a game was called fairly. Fair and even aren’t the same.
pakfanistanParticipantI know that you know this…but almost nothing you said was true. Just didn’t want any new readers to not get your sarcasm.
You’re right, I forgot to mention he was only given 10 years at NC State. It takes time to build a program!
And we went to 5 NCAA tournaments in a row, and even won a couple of games! Only 64 teams get to participate in the tournament. When has a program like NC State ever experienced such great heights?
pakfanistanParticipantLet’s not let the frustration cloud our judgment to the point of publicly stating that Maryland was/is/could be right about anything. It’s unbecoming.
+1
pakfanistanParticipantI have used facts and stats to try to have discussions with him and his response is always ‘i know everything and the refs are always right’. After every game he gets on here and says ‘the refs are awesome’ so he cast his bait this time and does not seem to like what he caught.
I don’t think free throw discrepancy is all it’s cracked up to be, honestly.
Two things:
1) Syracuse is a long team that specializes in zone. You would expect them not to foul much.
2) We’re an inexperience team with no defense to speak of for going on 10 years. You would expect us to foul a lot. That looks like it’s reflected in the box score.
pakfanistanParticipantHow do i unsubscribe from this? I’ve gotten a hundred emails of these posts? I’ve unchecked the box but it keeps coming back checked
Welcome to the Hotel California.
pakfanistanParticipantTo quote the late, great Rodney Purvis, the tears won’t stop falling man, smh.
pakfanistanParticipantUgh. Syracuse you have some ugly cheerleaders
pakfanistanParticipantWe havev a 5 star pt guard transfer on the bench sitting out a year, right?
Yes, but supposedly he transferred because he didn’t want to play PG, and wanted to play SG.
Edit: Which I find ironic, since we had a 5* SG transfer because he wanted to play PG.
pakfanistanParticipantHit your freethrows Turner. Earn the BSW moniker.
pakfanistanParticipantLewis > Barber.
pakfanistanParticipantTyler Lewis may be short and slow, but that kid is a badass.
pakfanistanParticipantOK… IF there was an earthquake south of US74-76 last night… nobody in the Old North State noticed….
I’ve heard that people in Charlotte felt it, but that depends on your feelings about Charlotte.

Yes, it’s great to see a coach get time to build a program, especially after being so unappreciated at NC State after building our program to a solid number three or four in the conference every single year. And then he was unceremoniously fired, and now has had to wander in the desert for seven long years.
And here, finally, he’s accomplished a win over the #2 team in the nation. What more could there be in the sports world? All championships get you is faded banners and dusty old trophies that you have to keep clean. Fie, I say! Give me consistent mediocrity any day.
pakfanistanParticipantI was looking at some ruby earrings, but I gave her a pearl necklace instead.
pakfanistanParticipantIn what way is the technology not there?
Nuclear is way past there. Wind and hydro are ancient technologies. Solar cell efficiency is rising, solar thermal is viable. We have plenty of options.
pakfanistanParticipantActually Pak I’m in the process of having a solar farm set up on my property (I have quite a few acres). Looks like i can have my electricity for free AND actually make some bucks.
I think that’s awesome. My family has some land I’m hoping we’ll use for biofuels or solar.
