pakfanistanParticipant
This particular picture is from the Mizzou game, but they are there every game.
Damn you powerade.
I wonder if FSU uses Gatorade or some other sports drink.
pakfanistanParticipantAs to losing your mind, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt as I assumed someone in thier right mind would not call someone they are having a discussion with irrational and inflamatory but if I am wrong I apologize.
Please note this was after you had attacked me repeatedly.
pakfanistanParticipantI’ve got an idea. Let’s pool our resources and sponsor an NC State senior design group to study trends in refereeing.
The NBA showed that all it takes is one well researched article to practically eliminate bias.
Whiteshoes, I have it on good authority that it goes even higher than that.
It’s the lizard people.
pakfanistanParticipantSo if you “readily admit the numbers look questionable” why do you lose your mind when anyone says the refs suck?
Is there some kind of filter between you and me?
At what point did I, “lose my mind” when someone said the refs suck?
My contention all along has been that the refs have made bad calls. My overall point has been, the refs are going to be varying degrees of imperfect, and that we [the team] would be best served by improving as a team. If we were 10% better, none of this would even be an issue.
The implication is the refs are either biased against NC State men’s basketball, or they are biased for…somebody.
My questions are, if it is truly a bias for a subset of teams, why can other teams make significant strides when we cannot? I keep forgetting I can’t use personal pronouns when referencing the basketball team. Sorry. And why do the remaining teams not raise hell?
Alternately, if the bias is against us specifically, sorry, NC State men’s basketball, would it not seem prudent for teams that are not us, crap sorry, NC State men’s basketball, to address that disturbing precedent?
pakfanistanParticipantThe reason for the horrible and biased officiating is unknown to me. Because it is unknown does not make it untrue.
I’m trying to establish the basics here. Not even why there is bias yet, but who the bias is for and against.
I readily admit that looking at raw numbers, it looks kinda questionable. But if I know that, Coach Gottfried, Debbie Yow, John Clougherty, John Swofford et. al. have to know that as well.
Are other teams not examining film and stats looking for bias? We’re a 15 team conference. Is it seriously credible to think that 13 teams would allow a clear, provable bias in favor of two or three teams? Is it credible to believe that the other 13 institutions are powerless to affect it?
pakfanistanParticipantThanks for proving my point
You seriously can’t see past the end of your own nose can you?
You’re THE most inflammatory, irrational poster on this board, which is saying something.
You toss around how blind other fans are, and how absurd their arguments are, meanwhile, never addressing the substance of what has been said.
Then when you get called out, you start deleting posts. I fully anticipate this one being deleted.
Please, show me where I called you dumb. Please. Pretty please?
Maybe you shouldn’t get so bent out of shape when somebody has the audacity to have an opinion different from yours.

Rick, I would like to officially welcome you to my world of debating on SFN. Maybe it’s the other way around but “peas and carrots” and all that.I coach 1 and 2 grade girls that can understand subtelty better than many on this board.
pakfanistanParticipantFind a way to win that game in spite of everything. Just go win it.
No, you can’t, they, whoever they are, won’t let us, specifically, win.
It’s as clear as day. Nobody every wins except for the 70 people ahead of us in the rankings who are favored by those in power in college basketball.
Teams like Southern Methodist, Saint Louis, and Wichita State are always going to get preferential treatment because of their long and storied history.
pakfanistanParticipantWell when one team can wrap up a player and get the ball from the “turnover” it is no wonder they win.
Would you explain it to me like I’m five? What is your contention?
That the refs are biased against us personally?
Are they biased against any team not Carolina and Duke?
Or is your position they are biased for Carolina and Duke?
Edit: I know you have problems with pronouns so to clear up any confusion, “us” means the team, aka NC State men’s basketball.
pakfanistanParticipantI did not realize you were part of the team. I thought we as fans were discussing the game. My bad.
Yes, it is completely unheard of for an alumnus to to use the word ‘we’ when referencing his alma mater.
Such a thing is probably as rare as rain falling somewhere on the earth, i.e. never.
pakfanistanParticipantNobody thinks the refs shouldn’t be better. Nobody. At all. Ever.
But teams find ways to win under the conditions of college basketball at the moment. Just not us.
pakfanistanParticipant<div class=”d4p-bbt-quote-title”>pakfanistan wrote:</div>
We can’t control the refs, we can only control how we play, so if we want to have any success, our best bet is to get better as a team. You and I cannot control the team so we should not bother about discussing them. That is the logical extension of your absurd argument. If you want to argue the refs called a good game well at least that is a logically consistent argument. If you want to argue “the refs sucked but we can’t do anything about it so I will criticize the coach/team” then you are being intellectually inconsistent.
Please try not to be so dense. Neither of those things is what I was saying.
“We” == “the team”
[The team] can’t control the refs, [the team] can only control how [they] play, so if [the team] want to have any success, [their] best bet is to get better as a team.
pakfanistanParticipantSilver lining.
pakfanistanParticipantThe defense on the last possession is typical for us. Gott actually made some substitutions. Lee was on Paige, Barber on the other little guy. But instead of making Paige go right, or forcing him to give up the ball, or shoot a contested 3, we actually allowed him to go left, right down the lane. Warren provided a little resistance but there’s no way that good of look by Paige should’ve ever happened. Vandy out at the three point line playing the screener. THat is not how you defend that with 7 seconds on the clock. IT’s awful.
That’s the thing that some people are missing when spouting the, “I guess we just have to be perfect,” straw man mantra.
We don’t have to be perfect, because we make a lot of mistakes. There are a ton of things that could happen differently offensively, defensively etc. that mean we win the game instead of losing it. And we don’t need ALL of them, just one of them.
We can’t control the refs, we can only control how we play, so if we want to have any success, our best bet is to get better as a team.
pakfanistanParticipantSteve Logan who is not known for being a big State fan tweeted that the refs “know who is supposed to win”.
So, yeah, its just me who sees this bias [rolling eyes]
So one football guy is overstepping his bounds by expressing his opinion on basketball, but Steve Logan is an authority….
I think I understand.
pakfanistanParticipantLove Lee attacking the basket. Now hit dem freethrows.
OK seriously, I’m turning it off.
pakfanistanParticipantOH MY GOD VANDENDUNK
pakfanistanParticipantThanks for that parting gift Lee!
pakfanistanParticipantWelp, I have to turn this off. You guys let me know how it turns out.
pakfanistanParticipantThis is bad for my heart.
pakfanistanParticipantNice!
But where do I go to learn how to read good? #centerforants
At the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can’t Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.

If you’re suggesting I work for the Technician, I don’t. I don’t even read the thing except when they come out with the daily tar hell.
Your comment is extremely sexist with or without the may.Look at that. Wishes do come true.
pakfanistanParticipantThis reminds me, I need to pick up some limes, just in case application of tequila is in order.

Eastern. Full stop.
Reagan was a terrible president.
pakfanistanParticipantI remember a post a few weeks ago where the poster made a good point. What if the fellas are reading these forums? What if they saw the lack of faith people have in them? Could that be contributing to their lack of confidence on the court?
Eh, Gott has been preparing the team by reinforcing the, “nobody thinks you have a chance narrative”.
I heard the comments on the radio and it sounded very calculated.
Sorry for the N&O link.
