    … looks like to me … the kid needs to put back about twenty pounds of upper body muscle so he can keep on ‘banging with the big boys’… idk….

    He’s still > 285. I think the additional mobility from losing 60lb far outweighs any lost muscle.

    Our S&C program deserves a big pat on the back and a Ruby Tuesday’s gift card for all of the success they’ve had with our team.

    Nice to see this young man has done the necessary things to earn his way back onto the team. I have to think this is a “last-chance” scenario. I hope he’s received the guidance he needs and keeps his ish straight.

    I thought the last one was a last chance scenario.

    Terrible news for our basketball team. BJ Anya apparently hit an old Gypsie woman with his car earlier this year and has been cursed. The results have been devastating. He is wasting away to nothingness right before our eyes and the staff is powerless to help him.

    Look at how emaciated he has become. It’s so bad he’s developed something called a ‘neck’.

    Wasting away

    Tragic, just tragic, to see a young man struck down in the prime of his life like this 🙁

    Low drop, lightweight, almost no cushion shoes have helped my feet big time when running long distance. They have almost eliminated shin splints and any knee pain. My feet were pretty flat but developed an arch because the tendons and muscles in your feet have to work as opposed to letting the shoes do all the work. Also much less stress on the knees. But it took damn near a year to get acclimated to them.

    This.

    I don’t run in them (much) but my feet and ankles have gotten so much better since I switched to Chucks. Anything much more substantial than that drives me crazy now.

    And as for the dangers of ‘minimalist’ shoes, as I understand it, the biggest problem is people don’t work their way into it enough. It takes time for the musculature and tendons to catch up to the training. But people just switch shoes and keep doing the same old thing, which is injury city.

    All you guys with ‘stomach problems’ need to all you can to toughen up a bit before Football season starts… I’m thinking that won’t help your conditions any at all…

    This is based on nothing, but I can’t shake the feeling this is going to be a fun year.

    Hope springs eternal I guess.

    Supposedly K. Street is a monster, 285ish and not a fat 285. I’m not saying he’s in the same ballpark, but Mario Williams was listed at 290 as a senior.

    I don’t know how old this pic is, but he certainly looks the part.

    It was written in a basement by a guy to manage his blog and has since been extended with no coherent plan and is infuriatingly inconsistent. Also, it is ubiquitous and unescapable if you want to work on web facing applications.

    I personally prefer python, perl, tcl, ruby, java, go, or anything that makes string management not a complete PITA.

    Also, to relate to this thread and not my personal beef with PHP, I didn’t think our D was as bad as our record would indicate last year. They got nearly zero support from the offense. Also, as I understand it, we would have run a 4-2-5 last year if we had the depth to support it.

    The only combination of numbers I understand are:

    1 $W = ‘???’;
    2 $L = ‘???’;
    3
    4 if ( $W > $L ) { $results = “Everybody is pretty damn happy!”; }
    5 else if ( $L – $W <= 2 ) { $results = “Nobody is happy… but it’s better than last year”; }
    6 else {

    There’s only one question when it comes to mayo – Hellmann’s or Duke’s?

    Dukes, or homemade.

    I believe “law of the jungle” would be in reference to rupyard kings the jungle book:

    “NOW this is the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky,<br>
    And the wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the wolf that shall break it must die.

    As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk, the law runneth forward and back;<br>
    For the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.”

    That is correct.

    “We’ve seen it for years, it’s not just the football team that does it and it’s not just at NC State either. It’s the difference between a Winner’s/Champion’s mindset and those who will never get over the proverbial hump.”

    Absolutely and I cannot say “absolutely” enough! I know some of you don’t want to hear it, but I’ve watched a mediocre Gamecock football team “finally get” it over the past 15 years…This “mindset” shift comes from the coaches, players(players recruited) and fans! You “play” like you “practice and prepare” and if you want a winning program, you have to put out the effort every day of the season…That means “EVERYONE”!

    Absolutely, and the main reason I hate the phrase “NC State sh!t”.

    I know. Searching google news for articles mentioning Jonathan Turley in the last week returns seven pages of results including NBC, CBS, Newsweek, CNN, and Fox. But the MEEEEEEDIIAAAAAAA won’t report it. Whatever.

    I just don’t understand what some of you negative Nelly’s want from Doeren. Our starting QB last year was a second string wide receiver transfer. Nearly 50% of our roster (53) is RS freshmen or freshmen and another 10 are true sophomores.

    No QB + no experience = winless conference schedule.

    I’m not predicting a championship this year, but I’m certainly willing to wait and see what this staff can do.

    State’s starting to look like Maryland, circa the Yow years. She inherits a promising department, alienates everyone in it and spends millions building shiny sh!t while the foundation cracks.

    You seem to remember the Coach Fowler years more favorably than most. Would you care to expand on that, and your current views on Yow’s failings as an AD?
