Observations from this game:
ACC officiating IS straight up horrible. There were so many instances tonight of bad officiating on both sides. The big one being our touchdown that was taken away. There was never any still frame or slow motion replay of him breaking the plane shown. It looked pretty clear to me that he broke the plane. If instant replay is going to be used, it should be mandatory to have goal line cameras on each side of the field. Our play calling was so bad. We should’ve spiked the ball so we could’ve ran two plays instead of a 45 yard hail mary at the end. All night we ran the ball against the grain instead of into free space. Wake was better than us pretty much the whole game. We just kept clinging to life. They deserved to win. I have never been a fan of Dave Doeren. He reminds me so much of Chuck Amato. Good talent but his players get bone head penalties at the worst possible times. This points to a lack of discipline. He has a team with some of the most experience in the NCAA and the best we can do is maybe going to be 8-4 in the regular season? Unacceptable losses to USC & Wake. UNC just blew out WCU so they are felling confident. So what happens with them next week? If Doeren loses that game he is seriously underperforming and it will be time for him to hit the road. There was just no reason to lose this game tonight.
PacksterParticipantBecause Dave Doeren is an idiot that’s why. Our play calling is terrible all game long.

I heard that. We are getting a reputation. I would agree, that when our stadium is packed…which it will be for the Tigers, we have a great atmosphere.

PacksterParticipantTurn out the lights. The party’s over! First win against a ranked opponent in 10 tries. Nice to finally get one.
PacksterParticipantAll we need is one first down!!!! Zheesh!
PacksterParticipantWhy wouldn’t you kick the onsides there? They have no timeouts! Stupid!
PacksterParticipantWhy can’t we ever just put someone away? Onside kick is coming.
PacksterParticipantI have never seen their stadium that empty.
PacksterParticipantNice bone headed penalty.
PacksterParticipantThen again, maybe not. Pathetic special teams play.
PacksterParticipantI’m thinking that safety might have been a good thing. Stil a 9 point gap.
PacksterParticipantWell that was good.

PacksterParticipantIn my opinion our job is a great job. But is it hard to win here? Yes. This is Tobacco Road! We need someone with swagger and guts that think they can do it. Archie Miller is a young man. You would think he would be interested. But apparently he didn’t have the guts to do it or the belief that he could be successful. So good riddance to him. He is not someone we need if that’s how he feels. He’s just worried about playing it safe. Keatts could work out for us but most likely he won’t be like a coach K. That’s because anyone that’s been intimately involved with sports teams knows that good coaches are hard to find. Probably only 1 in 10 people really have in them what it takes to be a very good or great coach. We used to have tradition to help with recruiting etc….but in the age of parity and the blues doing so well of late…we don’t have that anymore. We need a special person to take us to the next level. Is Keatts going to be that person? The odds say no. But maybe. We can only hope for the best. Furthermore, it’s time to start laying the ground work for a new arena for basketball. Let’s face it…our arena sucks. It’s not really even our home court….it’s a shared venue. We need a more intimate arena that seats between 12 and 15 thousand that gives us a true home court advantage. We need a building painted like a sea of Fire Engine Red that is loud and obnoxious. Just adding that would probably be good for a few more wins every year. Let’s hope that talk starts about this soon.
PacksterParticipantWe’ve won 3 conference games. Our arch rival beat us by 51 and now by 24 on our home court. It just doesn’t get much worse than that. I mean really…it doesn’t. Gottfried has given up. Time to send him packing $10,000,000 later.
PacksterParticipantThe Wolfpack has no chance to win tonight. I mean zero. None. At all.
PacksterParticipantWe are gonna get drubbed by UNC.
PacksterParticipantWe are pathetic. Some good talent but penalty after penalty at key times. Ala Chuck Amato. We are pretty weak at the QB position this year too. Finley’s footwork is terrible.
PacksterParticipantSomeone please make a post so I know I am not alone.
PacksterParticipantThat last pass play had zero chance of success. Pathetically terrible.
PacksterParticipantOne more down to go and I can get put out of my misery.
PacksterParticipantOur play calling is so horrible near or inside the red zone.
PacksterParticipantWhy am i watching this game?
PacksterParticipantI sense an impending disaster. We are never gonna win this game.
