Rather than come clean and take their lumps, they are willing to ride this raft right over the falls and take the rest of the school with them.
The NCAA has become a laughingstock. They are only wading back in to save their butts.
Some good has come of it all. Now everyone knows just how corrupt the NCAA is and what lying, cheating scoundrels run UNC. No other school in the nation could have gotten by with what they’ve done. They and their minions continue to run this banana republic of a state like Tammany Hall.
They are soooo predictable. Razz a UNC fan with this latest revelation and just after they say everyone else is doing it, they trot out Chris Washburn.

Translation: We wish he would have come back down here before shooting his mouth off to the press so we can straighten his ass out on a few things.

Yeah, because they always “won”. And most of those fair weather fans were never students. It’ll be interesting to see how long it will take for the hats, tee shirts and other merchandise to become less ubiquitous if this title drought continues.
There’s no telling where this will go but the hits just keep on coming. It’s year 5 of the ongoing scandal. I wonder how long it will continue. I really thought it would have sputtered long before now. But it keeps going like the Energizer Bunny.
The UNC scandal demonstrates how truly exceptional UNC is. Only they can get by with committing practically every infraction a college athletic program can commit. UNC is truly a model of institutionalized corruption. It’s sorta like the government now; it’s nearly untouchable.
It was an impressive performance. I was trilled to see the Tyler to Vandy scores. This team is definitely my trendy upset pick.

I find it galling that the Technician would publish such an editorial. It’s writer has angered many fans and alumni including this one.
The column mainly berates us for complaining about ACC basketball officiating but does not refute the claims that we have been on the losing end of many close games due to controversial calls/no calls. Poster NavyWolf listed some recent examples but this practice goes back decades. And as he pointed out, nobody is more weary of it than we are. Yes, there is a pattern here, a very old pattern. And there’s a growing body of video evidence.
When Boeheim had his meltdown at the Duke game, I was thinking there ya go Jim. Welcome to the ACC.
It’s unrealistic to expect our team to play well enough to overcome the lopsided officiating. That’s just too much advantage. Oh yeah, they could improve their free throws and make other improvements in execution but I don’t think it would ever be quite enough.
I’m in agreement with other posters that college basketball is rigged. If you want to call me a whiner or conspiracy theorist, suit yourself. The video posted above speaks for itself. The stats speak for themselves. It’s all made possible by calling touch fouls on one end and allowing muggings on the other.
13OT is right about the ACCT moving north. Boeheim was pre-complaining about having to play in Greensboro last year. Sooner or later, it will happen as ticket sales here decline further.
The ACC was ruined long ago.

Say what you like but we have been on the losing end of a helluva lot of close games due to questionable calls. It seems to happen with uncanny regularity. This is just one more in a long series.
