WF hasn’t missed a shot. How do we make teams do this so much?

I think you have to look beyond this year to his entire body of work (I realize this sounds Sendekian).

A Pitt buddy told me they liked him when he was up there prior to us.

So, he is being fired and not leaving for a better (or lateral) job?

Is he leaving State for another program or was he let go?

I’m listening to the game (cable is out) and this is ridiculous. State is gonna tease us all year until we need to win late in the ACC tourney to make the dance (and won’t).

    KH = Karl Hess?

I know CDD doesn’t have the history but I don’t think DY is gonna go for that.

CD, I agree about the great coaches on the verge of retiring. The way I see it, the competency with In-game X’s & O’s is especially being lost. I see the same in college football.

However, if motivation is the thing, than you gotta love Doeren. This year is a tough example, but I am willing to bet that motivation will be his best characteristic.

CD, I have to disagree in general. I don’t know too many coaches in the entire D-1 that are better than K, let alone Gott. Some of what I have been frustrated with is are his in- game adjustments. He seems slow to make the and when he does, they are 50/50 in terms of effectiveness.
He has shown flashes, including the Duke game you referenced.
It is frustrating righ now to watch out guys. It was last year too. However, Gottfried is the best coach we’ve had since V and he can get it done here. I am hoping he gets the right combination of guys and a little luck to win us at least a conference championship.

As for outcoaching K and Williams, as someone has reached for…he already has.

CD, can to elaborate a little? Are you saying Gott is a better in-game or overall coach than K and/or Roy?

Gott has been criticized for having poor defenses and now the rules are changing to his benefit him. Shouldn’t he be using it to his advantage? Can’t we go back to the high tempo transition game and drive more?

Gowolves, I agree the better team lost but blaming the refs is the go-to excuse whenever we lose. Our best scorer was MIA over the last 10 minutes. We lost all momentum in the last 2 minutes. Whoever said we should have driven to te basket with 47 seconds to go is right. I wonder if Gott called that but kids didn’t execute. Either way it is his job to get them to execute.

Agree that Warren was the missing element late. Did they defend him or was he just tired?

I am so tired of hearing about refs. Just win. The whining is old. It just makes you feel better about losing.

“NC State is 1-8 against Top 25 teams under Gottfried. So where’d we get the win? Last year at home against #1 Duke. ”

I have us with 3 wins and 12 losses, including the 2012 Tourney. You must be counting only regular season for wins? Still confused on losses.

My source is Wikipedia’s entries for each season:

My only disappointment is that Lewis isn’t a bigger part of the offense.

I have no idea what kind of kid he is, but playing armchair psychologist, his twitter post is encouraging:

He refers to us as NC State UNIVERSITY. He could’ve just said “NC State” or “The Wolfpack” as we are known in the sports world . It may indicate he actually is proud to be going to college or at least considers that part of it to be important. Also, stringing together a properly structured sentence has been difficult for some elite athletes as their focus has not been on school. He obviously knows how to. He didn’t use an apostrophe, but kids seldom do now.

P.s. I realize analyzing a twitter post is crazy, but you’d be surprised how revealing small things are.
