UCONN for #16 -keep grabbing at a piece of that NY area market
Please… no UConn
PackFamilyParticipantWe’re up 4 with 34 seconds and at the line. I still don’t believe it.
PackFamilyParticipantI’m starting to get the yips. Worried our hearts will be ripped out again.
PackFamilyParticipantWhy not put Barber in for Lee? He. An handle the / spot and defends better.
PackFamilyParticipantGrowing up in Buffalo, my uncle bet against the Bills every week. He never missed a game, talking sh!t at the tv the whole time. I never understood I as a kid. I do now. State has educated me
PackFamilyParticipantThe ‘hold for the last shot’ has got to be the worst plY in basketball. Everyone knows where it is going
PackFamilyParticipantNice little run here but Pitt is out of sorts more than we are executing.
PackFamilyParticipantOur D is putrid. Pitt is 3/5 from 3-pt
PackFamilyParticipantHidden in my complaining about the refs is the fact that as soon as we make a good run we quickly go brain dead. 3 of those shots after we took the lead were heaves. #youngteamsarenotnsmart
PackFamilyParticipant“What about the other patterns? As in how we play? ”
Completely agree. This is all our team can control. However that can coexist with fans calling out horrible officiating that has gone against us in key games since MG took over.
PackFamilyParticipantI think it is close enough to the line that a clear and credible argument can’t be made (the standard for bias would be extremely high). However, if we were a top team with a lot more attention and a title on the line, it would get heavy scrutiny. Because we don’t matter, no one besides our school and administration cares. That’s my best guess. It may not be bias and may just be incompetence. The reasons don’t matter. It’s there, plain as day.
However, far too many at crucial times have gone against us. Last night was predictable. When you see that pattern emerge, it’s too hard to deny.
I don’t like whining after losses, and i have only so much energy to keep arguing this point. Indifference is my next move.
PackFamilyParticipant“Would you explain it to me like Iām five? What is your contention?
That the refs are biased against us personally?
Are they biased against any team not Carolina and Duke?
Or is your position they are biased for Carolina and Duke?”
The reason for the horrible and biased officiating is unknown to me. Because it is unknown does not make it untrue. That is a David Glenn type of argument: intent can’t be proven and wild-eyed conspiracy theories are injected to discredited the accuser. But there it is, plain as day.
Instead of focusing right now on why, i prefer to see it as it is. You may not like it; but that officiating was as bad and one-sided as it can be. Previous claims of poor officiating do not make it less so.
PackFamilyParticipantI’ve held that blaming the refs and not us is just whining and that we should focus on what we can control.
However, it is getting too bad to ignore. What happened last night was predictable. In fact, i called it before it happened, and i am generally not good at such things. It was so bad, so obvious, that it’s sickening.
There are some ticky-tack fouls that go our way and some we lose; that’s basketball. But the last sequence of regulation and the “turnover” on TJW in overtime is ridiculous. If it were the first time, i would be willing to get over it. It is beyond that now. If you haven’t come to that conclusion, you will likely soon.
PackFamilyParticipantI -like many i am sure – called the ending of this long before it happened: At the end of regulation, with us about to win, a foul, with no call on us, and then a foul called on us to give them the ball. Just like the end of the “Cuse game and ACC Tourney in ’12.
There were others, but why does it matter…your post captures the feeling of being a State fan.
The corruption is unjust. Christian lessons to “judge not…” is the only saving grace here.
PackFamilyParticipantI have never felt this resigned. The poor officiating and bias is so ridiculous and obvious it is sickening.
PackFamilyParticipantTerrible offense by both teams so far. One will improve. Will it be us?

PackFamilyParticipantBeing a State fan is absolute torture.
PackFamilyParticipantWe suck on the boards.
PackFamilyParticipantTJW going off
PackFamilyParticipantWhy is Barber still in there?
PackFamilyParticipantBarber is a turnover machine.
PackFamilyParticipantI don’t know what Lee is trying to do but it ain’t workin’
PackFamilyParticipantStarting to come together now. MG not waiting in changing the rotations.
PackFamilyParticipantThis is getting comical
