PackFamilyParticipant
we were bailed out with that call
PackFamilyParticipantWhat a great start!
PackFamilyParticipantif the OSU game goes over are they showing it on another network?
PackFamilyParticipantUVA and the Fighting TOB’s are playing UL tough
PackFamilyParticipantECU lighting up the Gobblers
PackFamilyParticipant^ it wasn’t puzzling; it was tongue-in-cheek. I like reading these analyses. It was just my way of saying the rankings of our performance aren’t predictive of much right now
PackFamilyParticipantLol… this is all we got.
Interesting work, WVW
PackFamilyParticipantStats are fun.. here are two that have been puzzling:
After beating Gardner-Webb in our third game of 2009, we had at that point the # 1 defense in the country. We went 3-6 after that.
We had similarly high defensive rankings early last season. We saw how that turned out.
PackFamilyParticipantI noticed that ODU’s line, RB and QB were exploiting our D-Lines’s initial aggressiveness. They lined the QB and RB back further than normal. Our D-Line got push but blew past the QB or RB. I know that is hard to explain because it didn’t seem like we got in the backfield; it’s just we got there after the QB got the ball away inside to the RB
PackFamilyParticipantI’m at C-F now. I may be the only one wearing black.

Yes the cupboard was bare, and that was his fault, but the cupboard was also bare when he got here (we had these same discussion board conversations when CTC was fired). The game clearly passed him by and the lack of winning at a high level made recruits wary of him. Let him RIP.
We have a winner in CDD. If he can’t get it done for us, i will weep for our future.

PackFamilyParticipantFunny, and just inside of awkward and painful to watch. Perfect execution.
PackFamilyParticipantNC State has been blessed with some true badass kickers. Mike Cofer, Damon Hartman, Steven Hauschka, Niklas Sade.

how so?
08/08/2014 at 3:36 PM in reply to: Wolfpack’s football scheduling philosophy and future games #54103PackFamilyParticipantn May the ACC reached an agreement to remain with an eight-game league schedule while requiring all teams to schedule at least one non-conference opponent from a Power 5 conference (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, PAC 12, SEC) beginning in 2017.
The Wolfpack fulfills that requirement a year early with Notre Dame set to visit Carter-Finley Stadium on Oct. 8, 2016.
I don’t understand this. We were already set to play ND as part of the agreement with the ACC. ND is not part of any conference in football, so how does this satisfy the need to play a team OOC and from the P5 conference?
Play ND as a P5 team = fail (not part of a P5 conference)
Play ND as OOC = partial fail (ACC in all but Football (and hockey)).08/08/2014 at 3:31 PM in reply to: Wolfpack’s football scheduling philosophy and future games #54102PackFamilyParticipantAnyone know if we’re going to buy out the two OOC away games in 2015?
I can see us buying out S Alabama, but at ODU is being pitched as good for recruiting.
PackFamilyParticipantI disagree. It takes a different player to line up as the rover or 5th DB than an LB who can cover the slot receiver or another wideout. I am more optimistic with the 4-2-5 D.
PackFamilyParticipantI can’t believe we didn’t run a 4-2-5 last year. It’s pretty hard to compete against the spread teams without it. Our deficiencies at LB just increase the need. Now, we just need a good rover back. I am optimistic that Rodman Noel can fill that role.
PackFamilyParticipantI am impressed with how good Anya looks.
PackFamilyParticipantAlways glad to read football analysis and discussion on this site.
There were a few from last year that can emerge as standouts: Ramos, Valdes-Scantling… how about Jack Tocho and Matt Dayes? Does Rodman Noel finally break out? Juston Burris was good in ’12. We had a good D-Line with Teal, McGill, and Rose. Now we add a couple potential ACC players in Street and Jones. Do Byrd and Crisp stay healthy? LB is still a ???, which is worrisome.
PackFamilyParticipantThis means that the Wolfpack still will only have ten scholarship players eligible next season and looks very thin at the point guard position.
And yet Tyler Lewis and Rodney Purvis transferred out to play PG at other schools. What were they thinking?
PackFamilyParticipantI liked this analysis… seems more thought out than most of the crap out there. Heading into 2010, we had an awful 3-yr record. We then put together a decent season (9-4… “shoudabeen 10-2). The same could easily happen this year.
PackFamilyParticipantI have really enjoyed the conversation so far, but please don’t throw out names like Leach and definitely not Logan.
I don’t understand the obsession with Logan… is it because he talks straight on a regular radio show (the only major coach who does) and people surmise he is a good college fball coach? He WAS a college coach.. his record sucks!
