Either Johnson would be great, we need depth at both positions

True, but it would be nice to have a big Johnson on the squad.

He would still have to take three classes over the summer to be able to play in the fall at a university as Johnson would most likely make his college decision in early July.

    UNC has summer school, right?

Oh, and did the announcer say “buttload” in about the 8th inning when talking about the number of fans schools would bring to the park during the tourney? I was afraid to run it back b/c any tampering with ESPN3 stream results in it not working. Not very announcerly, but I thought it was funny if he said it.

Just watched the replay (minus the 9th inning – thanks ESPN3). With crapping or getting off the pot hanging in metaphorical balance, the Pack was slowly standing up. But with a bang, they promptly sat down and took care of business. RPI won’t mean nuttin ‘less you win. Good start. Here’s to continuing to take care of business. And here’s to the Heels missing out on the ACCT (if that’s still possible).

Has the snake been ritually sacrificed or anything like that to make sure its effects don’t carry over? Perhaps bury it under the visitor dugout or something?

Thanks for that Canes highlight. I needed that after last weekend.

How about if the NCAA doesn’t clear him, just play him any way and tell them to go jump in a lake (but in a much more PR appropriate way).

Just as long as he’s eligible by March.

Enroll him in fake classes, quick! Then the NCAA can’t touch him.

I think it’s safe to say that head coach getting bitten by a snake before a series is a bad omen. Of course it doesn’t help playing a team like Louisville at their joint. Nothing worse than watching a good team play well against your team. There’s always next time. Some kind of big series next weekend or something like that I believe.

I consider myself a loyal reader. Still waiting for those loyalty rewards to kick in.
Are there any rules about a coach needing to be physically present to coach? Can he call up and coach from afar? And of course I mean officially coach. Every team has thousands of unofficial coaches that populate message boards across the world.
Looks like the Pack is going to have to find a way to just be slightly better than Louisville. Both good teams. Speaking of slightly better. How bout Tillman v. Verlander. Just takes one pitch. Glad to see Mr. Jones hitting better recently. Go O’s! Wait, which forum am I on again?

Solution: Ride the wave of transgenderism. All male athletes declare they are now women and compete against other schools’ women’s teams. Not sure what football would do, but the NCAA would have to create some way for them to compete.

Poop, poop, poop. Pardon my French.
It’s always hard to admit something was a good game when your team didn’t win. Objectively, it was a good, close game. Krall, man, what a good call to start him. Of course they would have to have that revelation this weekend, although I guess it wasn’t much of a revelation after pitching 7 innings of relief.

Wow, that was nice beatdown (is beatdown one or two words – spell check is saying it’s two, but it seems like it should be one). Is it hard as a pitcher to go back out and pitch after those long, long at-bats? There were multiple in this game. Like mini rain delays. Except the Pack was making it rain.

Man, I had just come off of watching that beautiful 1-0 win by the O’s over the Yanks and was all pumped up to watch the Pack. Bummer.
Wuf, did you mutiny and take over SFN in the name of baseball or something?

still HAD to swim across the pool in Carmichael and back to get our diplomas regardless of our GPAs…

You mean that regardless of your GPA, you would be given your diploma simply by swimming across the pool? (of course I’m pretty sure you mean the opposite, but these days you have to clarify such statements)

I’m 32 years old and I still want to be a Goonie. It’s not P.E., I’m actually a math teacher who has horrible writing skills 🙂

I’m deeply concerned about our Wolfpack just like everyone else is, just feel completely helpless as the Jenga blocks prepare to tumble once again

Goonies never say die! (of course the Goonies weren’t Wolfpack fans)

Missed opportunities, missed opportunities, missed opportunities. I guess Duke had their missed opps, but managed to get ‘er done one time more than the Pack. The 8th inning was blown indeed.

So, who do the Pats have as backup QB? Could Jacoby see action during Brady’s suspension?

I refuse to illegally download any games UNC is playing in or watch any illegal game streams until this matter is dealt with. My high personal standards can abide this no longer.

I would guess that other schools will want to make a stink (particularly the ones who have been punished in the recent past), but will wait until punishments are handed down. It’s too early for them to do anything. If there really is just a wrist slap or only the women’s bball program gets punished or if their punishment is less than what other schools have received, it would make more sense for them to wait and see and then start talking.

So has the NCAA decided it’s time to bury the Hatchell and move on?
