^ As a reason for why the Pack should be predicted where they are, I can buy that. As a reason for the media picking them there, somehow I doubt that much thought went into it. Maybe I’m misunderestimating them.

^^ Yeah, I checked out about 2 weeks before the playoffs started. Watching the end of Game 1 was the first bit of playoff baseball I’ve watched this year. It’s hard to be happy for other people every year.

^ No, no, no. Official media rankings are meaningless. Fan projections are infinitely valuable.

Anyone know off the top of their heads how Gottfried’s teams have finished compared to how they were projected? It seems they typically finish higher. On the one hand, I understand why you would pick a team like State to finish in the middle at the highest – they lost a big part of their team. However, why are they not given the benefit of the doubt as others as far as how the new players will contribute? In other words, if they consistently bring in new players who are able to make up for the lost production and you know they have a good player or two coming in, why not factor that in and bump them up a bit? Clearly that is factored into the decision of other teams. But, since media projections are meaningless, who cares anyway. Certainly not me.

Man, that was a long game. I was able to catch the end. That throw on the last play was actually a lot closer than I thought it was going to be. Good win for KC. I’m pulling for KC, but there’s still a part of me that’s bitter from them beating the Orioles last year. Maybe a bit of jealousy, too.

So who gets the extra Halloween advantage? They’ve got the whole orange thing going on, but wolves, howling, etc.? That’s pretty Halloweenish. Any chance Clemson goes purple and loses any Halloween advantage?

    ^ Nice use of the self-quote. 😉

And, yeah, they can’t afford to drop players like that and expect to not suffer for it.

^ There might be a handful of people in Turkey. What do you call one from the town of Turkey? Turkeyite? Turkeyian? Tarkanian?

    ^ That’s a good one.

6 years ago I was in Turkey traveling by bus from Istanbul to the western edge of the country. We were out in the middle of nowhere at a rest stop. I was wearing an NC State shirt. This Turkish guy walks up to me and notices my shirt and asks me about it and I explained that I went there. He said he also went there and studied business or something like that. There was also an owner of a Chili’s restaurant who was an NC State grad. Something about the color red, maybe?

Schedule: Dead horse beaten, but we weren’t prepared by our schedule to play a good team. You could see it on the first long run when the guys were shocked we couldn’t just run the QB down.

Agree the schedule was weak, but that didn’t factor into being surprised in seeing that. That wasn’t the first time they’ve seen someone break a long run and take it to the house this year.

Are you sure there were a dozen? That was sparse indeed. Speaking of baseball, you can tell it’s postseason time because I’m no longer personally invested. “O” is for Offseason.

I completely understand Doeren’s position and that he has to make this decision. I’m having a hard time understanding the terribleness of the situation, though. Maybe there’s more to it. I don’t know a lot about mopeds. Are you allowed to be on the sidewalk? Were all of his faculties present? Unless there’s something more, it just sounds like an accident. If I accidentally hit someone on a moped or bike or something, I’d see if they were OK and if they were, I’d probably keep on going, too. It wouldn’t even cross my mind that I needed to call the police or whatever was supposed to happen. Or maybe there’s no such thing as good mopeds and bad mopeds. But a moped in the hand of a bad person is a bad thing?
Add “no mopeds” to team rules. We must protect this house. (or bubblewrap all pedestrians in Raleigh)

    “Failure to lend aid”

Isn’t that what Jerry, Kramer, Elaine, and George got put in jail for? Will there be a long trial of past characters who have to testify?

If you call the police after getting hit by a moped, you’ve got hurt feelings more than anything else. Do they make band-aids for that?

^^ I checked their TV Guide and it will be showing on that channel. And it has an HD option. Not real HD quality, but tons better than First Row Sports. Thanks for the heads up. To record, you have to buy DVR space. It’s $5 for 3 hours and $10 for 10 hours. Probably not an issue for most people, though.

^ Yeah, but sleeping at a recruit’s game while media is there probably isn’t a violation. Probably not even addressed in the NCAA rulebook. Roy finding the loophole once again.

I like our schedule, a lot. I’m turning 59 this week and I LOVE the black uniforms. So wise ones, tell me what that means.

Is 59 too old for mid-life crisis? I’ll have to consult the opinion spectrum on the uniforms threads.
