love him or hate him, Anya has been a Wolfpacker through and through. This is not going well for Gott.
if DY really does get a 1 year extension (which makes no F*ing sense at all but is so totally NC State), what does that mean for our coaching search that should already be well underway?
Someone mentioned Cronin. im not sold on him, hes a midwest guy and hes been at Cincy a while and hasnt done anything to really knock your socks off. And the ACC is tough, much tougher than the AAC/C-USA or whatever conference they are in now
hes only got 1 recruit for next year (Allen, from Garner, who is a wolfpack fan and will probably stay regardless of a coaching change). Not to mention the unavoidable mass exodus he has every year. I would imagine Markell/Kapita/Rowan are all gone as well as DSJ/Abu/Yurt/Anya. You basically have no team at all because no one is going to come play for Gott now that theyve seen what hes done with DSJ! I guess what i am saying is there is no good reason to keep him. Now is the time. It HAS to be this year!
i would be changing the nameplate on Doerens door when he showed up this morning…. hire that man immediately. i dont care what needs to be done… Lets be proactive for once.

wowza, something is not right in West Raleigh these days. poor DSJ, is it too late to let him out of his LOI since he was on the team this year? I mean seriously, Abu is set to be the primary beneficiary of the top incoming PG in the country next year and he still wants out?
As we all assumed by now, it looks like Dooley ship sailed. Hear we are after former UNLV Asst and now UT-Martin head coach Heath Schroyer.
Side note- Savon Goodman committed and played for UNLV during the time that Schroyer was there. Pretty sure Schroyer was his lead recruiter. Goodman got kicked off that team and now hes transferring from ASU. So his next school will be his 3rd stop.

When measuring Gotts success I dont care much about pointing to S16’s as a good barometer. I care about DY’s stated goals when she hired Mark. She specifically said we wanted to be a perennial top 25 program, year in and year out. Period. Which, best i can tell, Gott has fallen well short of. We spent the preseason and then a week or two in the top 25 for Lo Brown & Calvins sophomore year, immediately lost a few head scratchers early and never recovered (still havent). IMO, if you are a perennial top25, you are inevitably going to make some S16’s because you are a good team, not cause you get hot and make a few decent runs.
DY has more than enough reason to fire Gott if she chose to do so, and she needs do nothing more than re-read her press conference from the day she hired Gott as the reasons for his dismissal. She obviously wont be doing that for reasons that have been discussed on here ad nauseum, but to imply she doesnt have “cause” to let Gott go is incorrect.
thats great news on Archie. maybe he will stick at Dayton long enough for us to grab him when Gott flames out/DY retires
