Will be interesting to see exactly how McCaffrey gets used. He’s got a lot to prove against defensive backs that will all be 40 lbs heavier and run the 40 in the same time as him.
OutWestWolfParticipant^
Very Good then, I remain in the space that I hope he does the necessary things to remain on Loovul’s shortlist, and not stats that move him to their bloated we’re desperate cause coaching hires are very scary list or god forbid from a list all together.OutWestWolfParticipantKeatts doing so well he’s got lots of great offers coming at him to steal him away is a problem we’d be very lucky to have!
Cause he have to do really well for that problem to exist.
OutWestWolfParticipantwhen does K2T2 staff start appearing?
OutWestWolfParticipantIf one was here when it happened, one would get it.
impudent drivel
truth be told you fall out on one side of the earlier statement or the other
OutWestWolfParticipantSendek was proudly railroaded out of town
sincerity or sarcasm?
OutWestWolfParticipantit’ll come back around, there was going to be some inevitable bloodletting on this coaching hire.
OutWestWolfParticipantwow – get the brass knuckles and pipes out fellas you been given and hour or so of no holds barred, though I have no idea how long it takes Wuf to eat
OutWestWolfParticipantIE: High pay and extended contracts, riding the same horse too long.
It can’t be both.
High Pay in this instance has to be put into context – High Pay for MG and K2T2 may indeed be excessive while at the same time be a cheap offer for coaches with a different set of qualifications and/or potential

The Miller’s CLEARLY have a negative opinion of NC State and have no desire whatsoever to coach here.
I keep seeing this written as fact. We really have no idea if the Miller’s and other coaching circles view NCSU and Pack gig unfavorably. Much more likely that if State wants to play ball and hire within some coaching circles you have be financially ready to be there. The fact that Miller took a 3.5-4 gig at a prestigious BB school make it confounded with understanding what he thinks of NCSU (unless of of course Yow actuualy offered >3.2 annually and he turned it down). I’d wager Marshall makes his jump when he does for a contract that starts at < 4.3 annually.
NCSU is major D1 institution, and a BB first school in a P5 conference I am a little surprised that it cannot come up w/ the $s to run with the big boys.
OutWestWolfParticipantESPN list Miller’s IU salary at 3.5/yr.
OutWestWolfParticipantMiller to IU
Alford stays at UCLA
Marshall the best coach of the three still likely looking for the right spot, will very interesting to see the when, where and how much for him. Certainly does not look like it will be this year for the when.OutWestWolfParticipantI guess this was the inevitable – multiple threads coming to grips with Keatts.
-he’s ours got to love him
-good news for him MG so f*#kd-up this past season that there should be no doubt improvement is coming
-with the kids already staying, Keatt’s immediate happiness really rides on Johnson and Kapita. If those two stay I’m sure he is more than enough coach to have a remarkably better season than 16-17. Yurt’s definitely not ready he should stay and get another run at a real year of ACC basketball (MGs 16-17 season is actually remarkable in and of itself).
-the memory of AD Yow (legacy if you want) rides almost solely on Keatts: He does well (makes State a top 25 team at least 4 of the 6 years of this contract) and Yow will go down as a GREAT AD – he flames out in the first 4 years of the contract and …sweaty GW was right.Looks to me K2T2 has the charisma to get the kids together and have a much better season next year!
OutWestWolfParticipantwhat are the odds they even inquired what Marshall may want?

KeaTTsthis weekend and the next will almost certainly expose teams that operate on relatively limited talent and play at a high level, but Pack got their guy efficiently, no muss no fuss. Perhaps he’s is the man – onlys time will tell.
on the positive side I guess the jury is out on 2 of the three – yeah she’s a gem
OutWestWolfParticipantThis was the kind of hire we should have made when Sid was hired and when Gott was hired. I think we’d be a lot further down the road by now.
agreed, but given the tragedies those hires were I think many feel like it is another lump on the head to now so QUICKLY choose that path, and that it has more to do with the weakness of the AD than a wise and prudent path for this hire. I’ve watched all this from afar for all these years and it sure looks like NCSU has taken a lot of lumps and pain because the chosen ADs are generally bufoons.
With that, KeaTTs now deserves everyone’s support and his chance to become a great ACC coach.
OutWestWolfParticipantPffft…
Too many experts and constant complainers. He was not necessarily my first choice but he isn’t the floor. I’m all in and hope he’s successful. Screw the Millers. Everyone get on board or go elsewhere.who was the floor?
OutWestWolfParticipant^ Wow, you weren’t kidding Yow gave him a 6 year, 2.2 million annually deal. He went from 600K to 2.2 million.
OutWestWolfParticipantthe criticism, objection, and bitching are one thing – however the title of this thread is not a good look. I’d take it down!
just sayin
OutWestWolfParticipantthat’s it your concerned over that second t
OutWestWolfParticipantI am a little confused also at the lack of understanding of the process. We asked for a list of coaches (some we chose and some that were supposed to come out of the woodwork) that WERE interested in the NCSU Job.
NOW, if no one signed on, HOW IS THAT DEBBIE’s FAULT? Hell, it may be mine or yours or PP or whatever….
We paid $$ for the SAME list last time. We interviewed a LOT of them. We finally settled on Shaka. We KNOW the rest.
SO if there was ANY remote chance that Archie or (you FIB here), a BIG TIME coach was interested and still playing….do you THINK we would have waited
so your suggesting that UNCW’s coach was the only prospect interested in a major university, ACC, historically relevant Tobacco Road program that has two National Championships and is a basketball first school, and is a proven attractant for 4 and 5 star talent despite non top-tier coaches??
OK – if you say so – No reason to question Debbie then
Fine if A. Miller says not for me I got other things in mind. But that’s it we move to that guy at UNCW that doing pretty good?
For the record I hope with all my heart that Keats tears it up. Welcome to NC State and the ACC Coach.
I also hope Yow announces her early retirement tomorrow.I think that we did NOT have, even with the whiff of some bigger bucks, much of an attraction.
this is unclear to me is this saying NCSU didn’t have much money to offer?
OutWestWolfParticipantShe needed a consulting firm to hire UNCW’s coach of 3 years? Am I to believe that the consultants came back with “hey, you better go get this guy yesterday because no one else is interested”, pause “now here’s the invoice for 90K”
Logic is not with that one. The more likely scenario is our coaching hires and the people they produce are all SHE is capable of. None of this will change until NCSU finds the right AD.
OutWestWolfParticipantnot to argue the ridiculous, but don’t think there is a “worse” than Jethro, except that Jethro is in the past and Yow is in the present.
Yow needs to go by Easter.
OutWestWolfParticipantJust prepare yourselves. This is what will happen. Hell, maybe it even works out…though I doubt it will.
Without doubt I hope it works out. Good Luck Coach Keats and welcome to the Pack!
Yow = Jethro. NC State must move on from her on the same type of time line she hired Keats. The question is not why does State struggle with coaching hires it is why does state struggle with AD hires?!
OutWestWolfParticipantYow = Jethro
Good Luck to Coach Keats (sincerely)
buy out Yow’s contract and send her on the her way!!!!
