NCSU88Participant
Bill, I chose the mirrored 7 because the rest could be rotated back to read the number 7.
A little Mayo is good. I like some on a few fries.
NCSU88ParticipantGot 130 on the test. Would be nice to know what I got wrong.
NCSU88ParticipantYou will (should) find yourself much more focused and able to manage your time better. A little life experience goes a long way in higher education. At some point you will realize how much time you wasted as an undergrad and get angry at yourself. Enjoy the scenery.

Entertaining piece by Bernie Reeves in The National Review
UNC, once thought the paragon of ACC athletic purity and prestige, is up to its waist in the sewerage of scandal directly related to the abandonment of recruiting standards for signing big money athletes in basketball and football. Yet the myth, called the Carolina Way, continued until just recently – that UNC (and the ACC) was above the tawdry athletic antics of an Auburn, or a Miami.
NCSU88ParticipantI do not see how a felony criminal fraud charge can just be dropped by cooperating with an investigation that, as far as I can tell, has no avenue to press charges. Not a lawyer, but it just doesn’t seem right. Is there a precedent for this somewhere?
06/06/2014 at 5:36 PM in reply to: UNC McCants admits to sham classes during 2005 Championship #52575NCSU88Participant“I eat this gourmet cupcake in honor of you, Rashad.” +1 Internet to you PackerinRussia. Way to bring it full circle.
“The UNC registrar’s office declined to send McCants an official, signed transcript because of a May 2005 hold on its release. According to the UNC Athletic Department, McCants had university property that had never been returned.” That could just be an unpaid parking ticket. Just sayin’
“Didn’t one of the recent unX baseball players have a similarly stunning academic turnaround once he took a summer full of AA Studies courses?” That would be LHP Hobbs Johnson, now playing in the Milwaukee Brewers organization. Did not graduate.
Man, I’ve been following this stuff, too long.

NCSU88ParticipantToo many quotes from Willingham. Need more sources.
NCSU88ParticipantNCSU88ParticipantBack on Topic, Wow, highstick, thanks for that link. Made my blood boil. Can’t wait to see the whole report.
NCSU88ParticipantGreat match last night. Lots of strategy. The lightweights were fun to watch as they were ninja fast.
NCSU88ParticipantAs much as I would like to see both teams loose, the *NC fans that I come in contact with deserve this loss more.
NCSU88ParticipantAnother story on Crowder from WNCN. Nice collection of links at the bottom
http://www.wncn.com/story/24883830/da-no-charges-for-crowder-in-unc-fraud-caseNCSU88ParticipantSorry for the multiple posts. Trying to add a picture and not having much luck.
NCSU88ParticipantNCSU88ParticipantI love the way scandal has become irregularities.
NCSU88ParticipantBob Lee shines a spotlight on the elephant in the room few are willing to look at
http://www.bobleesays.com/Blogs/BobLee-Says/February-2014/The-Invisible-Fence.aspxNeither UNC nor The N&O have the courage to mention that:
(1) All the athletes of questionable academic acumen are “black”; and
(2) The center of academic shenanigans is AfAm Studies headed by a black professor.NCSU88ParticipantI found myself dreading a remarkable comeback by Manning and a complete meltdown by Seattle in the second half. I commented to my wife, “This is too good to be true. Kind of like watching NC State playing with a lead.” The Wolfpack represented well in the game. I am proud today.
NCSU88Participant*NC fires back. Makes it sound like the research she did was for a paper only class. This is too funny. Bonus: 4 people spent 200 hours this week. How many hours of overtime is that? 40.
The test she used to diagnose reading skill, Dean said, was a vocabulary test that should not be used alone to judge overall literacy. And, he added, Willingham misinterpreted the results of the data, rendering her conclusions “virtually meaningless.”
“Using this data set to say that our students can’t read is a travesty and unworthy of this university,” Dean said. “These claims have been unfair to the students, unfair to the admissions officers, unfair to the university.”
Dean said four people spent more than 200 hours analyzing Willingham’s data this week.
Some faculty thanked Dean and Chancellor Carol Folt for the hourlong presentation, but at least one professor said the refutation sounded like stonewalling.

NCSU88ParticipantThanks Bill. Wish we had a like button.
NCSU88ParticipantGotta wait until June for the trial. Should make for interesting summer reading. In a way, I feel bad for McAdoo, because his destruction by the defense is what will make the case even stronger.
NCSU88ParticipantI find it ironic that bringing manufacturing jobs to the State is such a big deal. 20-30 years ago we had lots of manufacturing jobs. Those were sent overseas. Many small NC towns suffer as a result of various plants and factories sitting idle. The “everyone needs a college degree to succeed” bandwagon hasn’t helped, either.
01/15/2014 at 10:33 PM in reply to: ESPN to feature UNC Academics Scandal on OTL tonight at 6pm #37043NCSU88ParticipantLoved the snippet with the student body president, Christy Lambden (misidentified as Christy Lambert in WRAL interview), “I’ve been in a number of classes with student athletes and every single time, all of those student athletes impressed me academically.” He probably hasn’t because he did not have Basketball, Baseball or Football players in his class. He is a junior majoring in philosophy and political science and is from England.
NCSU88ParticipantWell written essay by Mike Glennon. He must have attended actual classes and written papers on his own.
