But the refs are not the reason ND has come back from 18 points down…

Sorry, not sorry, I think refs have played a part, when you play good D and ND gets a weak call. I don’t think that’s just my opinion.

I’m sorry, but those fouls calls on Abu and Anya were BS. Refs cannot make those mistakes.

Look at the balanced scoring: 8, 8, 7, 6, 6, 4 and 3. That’s fantastic. Lacey with the 3 points, but 6 assists. I hope he resists the urge to force his offense, and continues to look for his mates.

I like BD’s comment about how the Martin’s are looking for teammates. Clearly, this team thrives when they share the ball.

WOuld it be too much to ask to play the rest of the year like the last 5 minutes?

Dook and Hoos win (among others), so State’s RPI and SOS stay strong, which is good. But State also needs wins and this one would be a good one to have. Go get ’em boys!

Cooney is still playing for Cuse? He must be about 27 years old.

Tipping point here. Still down just 3, sort of a pause in the action.

Finally made it home. The stream is frozen, but I’m hoping that’s the halftime pause. Jeremy if you expand the video window the popups stop. But, the picture can look pretty bad. Sophie’s choice.

No dribbling or taking steps with the ball.

Ha. I was once in charge of a bunch of kids playing street hockey, and two boys on opposite teams were dominating the “game” going end to end, no passing, while the other kids attempted to play “magnet puck”. I took some sidewalk chalk and drew circles that each player and their matchup had to stay inside of, kind of like tabletop hockey. So, spacing was enforced and passing became a necessity. Same idea as ultimate. Within about 15 minutes the lights went off in their little noggins, the circle edict was cancelled and a much more enjoyable game ensued.

My solution: (I’m sure I’ve posted this before) Play to a score a la playground ball. Take whatever the average team score for NCAA ball is (or go higher or lower, whatever), first team past the post wins. Playground ball is usually win by 2 (scoring by ones, 2 points for behind the arc), but maybe that gets changed to win by 3. Keep the shot clock. Since there is no game clock, reduce the timeouts.

Regarding fouls, especially at the end of the game, seems like there should be something done to make them more of a disadvantage for the fouling team, therefore a last resort. I think it’s ironic since V championed the “make them make FTs” strategy.

And here’s a thought… use power plays. Maybe after 10 fouls, it goes to 4 on 5 for a period of time or scoring. Crazy? It sure adds an element to hockey. Granted, goals are harder to come by in hockey so I’m not sure how it would transfer to bball.

    Just spitballin’

    Don’t Ever Quit.

Grrrrr…. the more I think about it, the more I think GB quit while they were ahead. Burnett giving himself up after his interception… run that thing as far as you can man! The resulting prevent offense series by the Packers with 5 minutes left was awful. Then the D forgot how to play. Props to AR for getting the team into position to tie, and major kudos to Mason Crosby for kicking that FG.

I’ve been hearing all morning that the winning TD was an audible, a result of film study by that short, marginally talented QB 😉

At the end of the day, it was a crazy, unforgettable game. Seattle will never supplant my Packers, but they are a great number 2 for me, practically a shadow WolfPack.

Just read that Bostick, the guy who muffed the onside kick, was supposed to block and not field. You can see Nelson had perfect position right behind him. Assignments people!
