Going to the Hole can’t be any tougher than going to L’ville. I like that State won this one on the road, because they shake hands and go home. No court rushing, back to business.

Good to know that Bubba’s threshold for proof is that low. I now fully expect him to connect the dots within his own program and announce that “we acknowledge that we have no idea who did this – orchestrated and perpetuated the fake classes program in order to keep our athletes eligible – but it is an academic AND athletic issue that should have never taken place. Just as I did by writing a personal check to Duke, I take full responsibility and I hearby fire all athletic staff and tender my resignation.”

Smith: “Otherwise, it’s a great school and all of this and that, but Coach Ulbrich did say that Coach Dan Quinn (of the Atlanta Falcons) had called him the night before, but he had declined the job offer. I felt like Coach (Jim) Mora should have hit me up and said there’s potential that Coach Ulbrich may be leaving. Then, they tried to get me to go ahead and send the papers in, but I wasn’t doing it. They tried to get me to send them in at 8 in the morning. Doing a lot of research, which I should have done earlier in the process and thank goodness I had more time, they don’t even have my major. I was going to major in business, and the only way to get into business school out there is to be in graduate school.”

By “somewhere else” I didn’t necessarily mean another coaching gig. Plenty of former-coach broadcasters have had their chances to return to coaching and turn them down. I’m guessing that the money is vastly different, but for most the peace of mind seems to be worth it.
I have yet to come up with anything new to add about the game. State had a shot – literally – and they didn’t execute. Rinse, repeat. Regarding Gott, I get the distinct impression that he would like to be somewhere else. That’s all I gott.
How sad is it that I fully expected Abu to get foul 2 on what turned out to be a great hustle play on both ends? Thanks for ignoring “tendencies” ref!
Someone mentioned listening to the last game via the TuneIn app, just wondering what station(s) that might have been. I used to be able to get the games over the interweb, then they started blocking the game feeds.
