Participantmy_adidas, you can listen via TuneIn Radio, I’m listening using the app. Haven’t found a stream yet.

ParticipantSyracuse wasn’t smart enough to get non athletes involved.
That was a stroke of genius by UNCCH. Of course we all know it’s a smokescreen, but gives the Holes and the NCAA enough plausible deniability.

Participanthttp://deadspin.com/syracuses-academic-fraud-skipped-the-middleman-1689890034
[T]he director of basketball operations and student-athlete support services employees accessed and sent emails from student-athletes’ accounts and corresponded directly with professors. Numerous emails included attached academic coursework, which was necessary to maintain the required grades for student-athletes to remain eligible. Recipients of the emails included student-athletes and the director of basketball operations. There is no indication that the director of basketball operations questioned or reported concerns. To the contrary, the email and related data suggest the common practice of the director of basketball operations monitoring, identifying and then remedying academic concerns through email correspondence, which purportedly was being sent directly by the student-athletes to their professors.

ParticipantSo is JB’s suspension effective immediately? As in, for tomorrow’s game?
MrPlywood
ParticipantWow. To do this to Syracuse, they must have been really mad at UNC. Roy can rest easy now.
It really is mind-boggling isn’t it? There’s so much smoke at the Hole you’d think they’d all just have expired from inhalation by now. Maybe that’s what the NCAA is waiting for…
MrPlywood
ParticipantToo bad for ‘Cuse that it wasn’t just an academic issue…
I am surprised about one thing though – I thought the NCAA was on extended leave since the Hole has been allowed to KCCO.

ParticipantDang Bill, aren’t you on the east coast? It’s getting late for me over here 🙂
re: the “Reports challenge UNC scandal’s 1993 start date” article…
“Since the release of the Wainstein report, the idea that the University’s academic improprieties began in 1993 has gone largely unquestioned.
Now, conflicting information between the Wainstein report and the University’s response to its accrediting agency has some wondering whether that date was created to protect the 1993 national championship-winning men’s basketball team.”
Ya think?

ParticipantGreat job Sacco, thanks.

ParticipantYeah, looks like a 2 to me. They showed 27 angles, I’m surprised it wasn’t reviewed. Or was it? And in the “never going to get the call” category the VT point guard carried the ball before the pass. 😛
MrPlywood
ParticipantIs anyone yet willing to give Gott and staff any credit for improved defense?
Haha – I did in the game thread. 🙂

Participantin what universe is 72% FT shooting “dreadful”?
My thought too. 72% is about the 79th percentile. And if I counted right, State went 18 for 23 in the last ten minutes, for 78%.
Also, State beat Kerlina at the Dome despite shooting 35% from the field. These two games are encouraging in that it proves to the team that D can win games when your O isn’t quite there.
Fouling with the lead? That has to stop.
MrPlywood
ParticipantUntil next game fellas…
Go Pack!
MrPlywood
ParticipantSeeing as State was 1-6 over the last 7 in Lil’ John, I’ll take it. But good lord…
MrPlywood
ParticipantJeebus. That might be the oddest end of game I’ve ever seen.
MrPlywood
ParticipantAfter 15 fouls, there should be three shots or two and the ball. The end of games are ridiculous.
I say 2 and the ball.
MrPlywood
ParticipantWow, refs are letting a LOT go.
MrPlywood
ParticipantStill don’t know what I’m looking at.
MrPlywood
ParticipantAt least they called the fourth foul, but it was close.
MrPlywood
ParticipantGonna make me sweat, aren’t ya Pack?
MrPlywood
ParticipantI think I’ll give Gott the credit for the 2nd half defense. Why not…
MrPlywood
ParticipantI’m not quite sure what I’m seeing here.
MrPlywood
ParticipantI have no idea how this is 9 points, but I”ll take it. Nice tap Cat.
MrPlywood
Participantffs
MrPlywood
ParticipantJeebus. It’s there for the taking. Take it!
MrPlywood
