re: 100% in or 4% out – I haven’t read anything to the effect of “State’s in… for now, but watch your step”, it’s been “State’s done enough”. Oklahoma lost tonight so that should be the end of that farce.
Good thing I’ve been busy as stink today and only had time to check the score occasionally. Just happened to check in when State tied it at 80, tried to listen but had to take yet another call. Disappointing, I can appreciate the battle back, but this was a winnable game. Take the medicine and a 10/11/12 seed and move on.
BTW, for everyone that says that conference tourneys don’t matter anymore, I beg to differ.
Then let’s hope that BC is wearing these unis – there’s enough gold in there to qualify.

ND wins. Pitt broadcasters going off on the refs after Carr gets called for fouling Colson while Carr had inside position on a rebound. Colson over the back (per Pitt guys). Pitt was down 2 at the time.
One Pitt broadcaster sounds like he’s 103 so he’s probably seen it all.
In my book Clemson sort of swooned down the stretch as did Louisville.
AFAIK there is no such quanitfier.
Okladamnhoma passed out, fell down the stairs and couldn’t get up yet they are still a 10 as per Lunardi. Palm bent over backwards rationalizing that they had done enough early in the season to still be in.
but our metrics don’t correlate to a top 10 seed.
Similar to the difference between the path of a 3 and 5 seed in the ACC tourney, I’d be fine with an 11 or 12 seed in the NCAA. The first round my be technically tougher that meeting an 8, but the second round is more attractive than meeting a 1 – even though none of the 1s seem invincible.
State finished with 3 champs yesterday: Fausz (125), Hidlay, (still undefeated @ 157) and Renda (184) and send 9 to the NCAAs. Unfortunately VT finished first in the tourney. Jack finished second to Moore of VT, and there’s some speculation that he’s still suffering from the effects of his concussion or otherwise hurt, he’s just not been wrestling the same. #4 ranked Macchiavello (197) lost in OT to #1 Haught from VT. So State had 3 head to head with VT, and went 1-2.
State gets the winner of BC/GT, with Clemson waiting for the winner of that game. Win 2 and State probably plays VA in the semis. I like the draw. And, it’s refreshing to get the first round bye and have an NCAA bid locked up.
