MPParticipant
Every high school has jocks, mathletes, bullies. SFN is just another high school:
Somebody call the “PC I’m Offended Grievance” police.
MPParticipant“oh……..unc just ran a punt back for a touchdown”
Ha, yes. My better half and I were discussing last night how sweet the win was on Tuesday – considering all the crushing defeats we have witnessed. At the time I was thinking of last February when TJW hit the free throw to put us ahead I said to her out loud “We just lost” – Then watched Paige drive the floor and beat us. [She was impressed, I think.]
But you bring up another wonderful memory. We were in Kenan that day… and not in the “State section”.
MPParticipant^ Pardon the interruption, but the key point to who? Or what?
Nice posts BOTB. It does feel like Round 3 is inevitable.
MPParticipantNo offense, but that should be a “^^”.
(gotcha covered – I only changed it due to the page change and visibility- wp76)
MPParticipant^^ Well played sir. As usual.
MPParticipantGood to hear. Then all these posts and threads are “much Abu about nothing”.
See everyone at the parade! And no, I’m not kidding.
MPParticipant^ Oh well…
MPParticipantLet the dead bury the dead.
What do we envision as our maximum, our peak? This season and beyond?

So I missed the original post. Was it of the “blowhard” variety that comes out on occasion?
MPParticipant(because, Lord, you know as well as I do that I’d have taken that rock and slammed it right down their throats)
LOL. Outstanding!
MPParticipantYou should be so lucky.
LOL. I’m one of the stat nerds that love ’em!
MPParticipantBecause we really are JUST THE BETTER TEAM ON THE FLOOR TONIGHT. BY A SUBSTANTIAL MARGIN.
I was trying to think what to post. That is it.
MPParticipantBuy a vowel, Roy.
Or an asterisk.
MPParticipantOur bigs are playing like MEN.
MPParticipant^^ Totally consistent with the tendencies of each team as studied prior to the games, I’m sure. We should be afraid.
MPParticipantAnyone watch the race today?
Oh yes, Good race. Hate that it finished under caution.
MPParticipantHey. Anyone on campus post ’90 somethin’ started that NCSS, and I hold y’all personally responsible.
I showed up in August 1990 and have always felt personally responsible for bringing NCSS to campus. Not sure where I picked it up but I’m pretty sure it was in the bathroom at Waffle House in Burlington.

MPParticipantThis appears to put him at the middle of the conference – 8th or 9th highest pay, depending on if Duke has upped Cutcliffe’s salary (same for The Asterisk, although I have a hard time believing they would be anteing up on The Hat right now).
IMO based on potential demonstrated in our late season performance and recruiting success, this is fair. Glad they got this done.
MPParticipant^ Hey, at least Gastonia can claim to have an awesome fabric store (Mary Jo’s)! If you’re into that kind of thing…
They sell koozies that say “My Wife And My Money Went to Mary Jo’s”. One of my proudest possessions!
MPParticipantNot a knock against this post, as I understand that RPI is a thing that the selection committee supposedly uses to make their decisions, but posts like these always remind me how absolutely bonkers it is that we’re still using RPI to talk about which teams deserve tourney berths. It’s such a terrible, meaningless statistic, and it boggles my mind that it wasn’t phased out years ago.
Yes. For perspective ESPN RPI has (5 loss) Kansas at #1… Over Kentucky! Maryland is a Top 10 team according to RPI… Barely Top 40 per Pomeroy.
But knowing or assuming that RPI is referenced by the committee, I enjoy these posts.
MPParticipantI never expected UNLV to win the NCAAT….but then they had Stacey Augmon and Larry Johnson along with Greg Anthony at the same time.
I still can’t believe they didn’t win 2.
MPParticipantif a team finishes with an ODS +25 you have a 25% chance in winning the championship
Although there is still time for this to change, as of today: 8 teams in the nation have a 25% chance of winning the championship. Verrry interesting.
Wisconsin’s offense must be outstanding. They are a CLEAR #1.
MPParticipantI nominate this post for the Hall of Fame. I have been using KenPom end-of-season data in NCAAT pools for a few years now but always trying to figure out how I want to leverage the numbers. THIS is what I’ve been trying to figure out.
I also have something shocking to present about a certain eventual HOF coach.
Now I’m really excited, this is like Christmas in February!
