Just because the conference shuffled around doesn’t mean our expectations should be lowered. I mean, we’re looking at ACC cellar dwellar records.

Sure. Just thought it was appropriate to say that to give Gott all the credit he deserves. The problem is, 6 years in, it’s clear his early successes were miracle runs.

Full disclosure, i want Gott gone; actually emailed Yow and received a response from her assistant the other day.

Well, this comparison is also slightly problematic because the ACC looks nothing like it used to. Maryland left and we adopted Louisville, Cuse, Pitt, and ND.

I actively don’t expect us to win when we play anymore. Which is truly sad for me.

Exactly WHAT offense are we running? Because it is clearly not working. Night after night. And the problem is, we win a big game like Dook, and our coach feels validated. Without DSJs 32 points, we would have been screwed. Point is, Capel < Pitino. So when DSJ gets shut down like today, this is what you get. How in the world were we better last year? I swear, Cat did it all and DSJ has all this fanfare about him. Then again, DJT is our president. FML.

I only caught the last 2:21, thank God. I guess GT is a good team with a great coach. All things considered, looks like our boys got better tonight. I’m proud of em.

Yow’s gotta fire him now, right?

This is worse than even I thought it would be. Gott doesn’t seem to care any more. That heart problem changed his priorities. Maybe he’s chasing more strange, who knows but this is a dumster fire and we have no hope for relief any time soon. Yow has screwed us.
I am guessing you will see an exodus of Biblical proportions at the end of this year. Both players and assistants.

I don’t think it’s about him not caring. I think he does care. But he’s lost without a paddle as an ACC coach right now. There’s no denying we have Top 6 ACC talent. We just constantly get out-coached. He needs to change his offense. And we need someone who can teach our guys defense. And to someone’s earlier point about the NBA hopefuls and how that affects their teammates–why is it that Cal, K, Ol Roy, Pitino, Boeheim, hell, Bray, are able to reign in their “superstars” and make them play within the team? Besides, our WHOLE team constantly looks lost, whether it’s on defense or offense. Go watch an ND game. Those boys all know what they are supposed to be doing, at all times. And they’ve only been in this league for like, what, 4 years?? Of course, Bray is a better coach than Gott. But WHY is he a better coach? How can Gott get THERE? How can WE improve our chances of winning some worthwhile hardware?

Gottfried said we got better tonight and that the kids played hard. Bahahahahahahaha!!!

What? Fire him NOW! Where else can someone make apologist statements like that?!

I want one of you sunshine squad members to explain this one away. Give us some more reasons we shouldn’t throw the towel in on Gott.

I don’t think I can bring myself to watch the next game. It’s just ugly basketball. How did Lo run the offense so well? Was that team just superior in every way? Hell what about 2013, when we had Lacey and Cat?

What a waste of time trying to find a good stream tonight. This is truly sad. And some of y’all still have faith in Gott.

Really starting to think Gottfried’s offense sucks. Combine that with our lack of defense and you get this steaming pile of dung.

Anyone have a link? First Row is giving me Louisville-Pitt, but maybe our game will start afterward?

The head coach is responsible for the program at this point. CLEARLY. Period, full stop.

You don’t need to get all micro about “fault.”

    This. Gott’s program. Gott’s responsibility.
All that said he isn’t going anywhere until Yow is gone. You are going to see a drop in talent add players see Gott is all show and no go.

I wonder what a player like TJ Warren would have to say about Gott, if player exit interviews were a thing in the NCAA?

^Hahaha that’s my point. If you think we have anywhere near the talent of any of those teams, you are dreaming.

What the heck are you even saying? At this point, I’m not sure even you know. We have plenty of talent. So only school’s with ten 5-star players can win or idk make games INTERESTING?

Some of y’all are absolutely delusional. This is clearly on Gott. Do not blame the players or their talent. That’s a copout, and a weak one at that. Hell, Brad Stevens could take this team to the Sweet 16 easy.

Not surprised by this, tbh. Gott isn’t gonna cut it. The lack of defense, defensive rebounding, movement on offense in the Miami game was really eye-opening. I think I lost all hope of achieving anything during his tenure after that game. Despite all of our “talent”, our guys looked like they’d never seen a roundball before.

    DSJ – 5 star, Fr
    Abu – 4 star, Jr
    Anya – 4 star, Sr
Henderson – 3 star, Sr (redshirt, I think?)

I haven’t even gotten to Dorn, Johnson, Kapita, and Yurtseven. Sure, freshmen, guys who never played in the ACC before, yada yada. But so what? Doesn’t Cal do this every year? Doesn’t Coach K? Izzo? I’m not saying Gott wasn’t the right man at the time, but it was obvious after 2012, that something was amiss.

I’m really glad I was out shopping at Trader Joe’s and missed the start of the game. Missed the entire first half, had a buddy clue me in on the score, and resolved to not watch the second. Glad I picked up some port and some porter.

I really wish I could be as optimistic as some of you, but I’m a realist. But can one of you tell me what to blame this on?

State grads that get a postgraduate at the hole and can’t still hate the holes are the worst.

Understandable. People are always up in arms when I explain I went to UNX for law school, but still hate their guts. Undergrad above all. And childhood allegiances, always.

17 offensive rebounds for Miami, 29 second chance points. Someone needs to be fired.

Lol at rebounding. Why give up 2, when you can give up 3?
