Why? Did anyone expect the Martin twins to transfer?
The best case scenario will be that the new hire will be good enough to keep those in Raleigh that don’t want to go pro. I hope that it’s not a total rebuild. But it’s far from certain.
Our greenskeeper at the club is the Martin’s first cousin, he told me at length why they decided to transfer. when he was explaining this to me we both had on NC State shirts, we are both fans, he was not trying to badmouth NC State or Gotfried, he just told the facts that he heard, not second hand, not hearsay, just the truth. I tried to discuss this on packpride and got banned for life.

Bobby Lutz on his thoughts about State and the Job.
That’s awesome, can really hear the passion in Lutz’s voice. Definitely agree with him on the qualities a coach needs to win at State. It’s not an undesirable job unless you don’t want to compete. If you want to coach and play with a chip on your shoulder, then this is basketball Mecca.
You’ve at least got a reasonable foundation of ACC-caliber players in GFK, Markell, Dorn, Kapita, and two wild cards in Frenchie and Tall Atsur. I’d like them to come back.

another year in Rawlee would mean something to him… long term…There’s no chance Dennis Smith Jr. comes back next year, and he definitely shouldn’t, so why bother hoping he does?

Unless you are willing to put forth your sources to allow us to assess the veracity of these claims, they have no place here, esp on a day like today, which, even though a majority of us were hoping for, is still not exactly a victory for NC State. Airing our coach’s dirty laundry like that isn’t going to attract a HOF coach, nor talented players. Leave it to ESPN and TMZ.
Look at the regression on this squad…Only a couple players have improved offensively over the year and all have regressed defensively.
This is an absolute train wreck of epic proportions.
This is a microcosm of Gott’s tenure at State. Abu is exactly the same player who came in three years ago.

Group of Pack fans watching game. One has a kid now at State. They said the university issued a letter prior to game that Mark Gottfried would be fired at end of season. Reason given is marital problems had spread into his university duties as a coach. I find this very interesting. Why would NC State issue such a letter to parents?

What exactly did you hear? Sorry, I wasn’t active during the game last night, but I saw a few allusions to rumblings that no one really flat out explained.
Coaching. I think it is apparent, as others have mentioned, that Bobby Lutz was a much bigger loss than we realized.
