Lol. Coaches, commentators, fans abhor cross-court passes in the half court–easily picked off, no? To make a hail mary pass with 15 secs left when you’re up 2 points to the #8 team in the nation (yes, for a reason, which we saw tonight), doesn’t seem smart.
If Gott didn’t call that play, great. Then it’s on the passer (can’t remember who that was). If Gott did call that play, I just wonder why. That’s all. Just asking for a polite discourse on the forum. I obviously cannot stop watching the freakshow, no matter how many times I get disappointed (it’s like a chick who stops blowing when you’re almost there).
I appreciate your response, though. At the end of the day, it is just a sport. So having a place to air our grievances is great and I love SFN for that. Even when I”m just reading others’s thoughts.

Exactly. I”m not even sure why it’s so hard for some people to see. Smart, conservative play calling wins in that situation.
I would really like to see someone defend the first hail mary pass. We HAD the game. Period! Even if we make only one FT, that’s a THREE pt-lead. And let’s be serious, how many last second threes go in? That would have given us some cushion to play light defense. I’m sorry, but that’s ALL coaching. And I like Gott, I really do. I like this team. And I grew up in Raleigh (a State fan). And I went to State. And I don’t have any alcohol to cheer me up.
If we lose, it’s because of the stupid home run pass play call. PERIOD. Get it to Lacey or Ralston–let them foul us. But noooooooo.

Impressed with Cody handling the ball there, even though he ultimately didn’t sink the shot, it was a good look. The twins will be a force next year, and with Abu and Anya, the future looks bright. Just need Cat to continue to work on his game.
The true test will be how we come out of the locker room. We lost the Miami game in the first few minutes of the 2nd half.
Yea Nard has really been allergic to offense as of late. Hoping he blossoms a la Richard Howell in his last two years.
This would definitely be a quality win. I feel like people (including me) were fixated on the UVA, Duke, UNC stretch of games, but the ACC is so competitive now. A team can lose on ANY given night and ND is a quality team that is well-coached. Gotta take care of bidness tonight. Doing well so far.
Who was the last TRUE PG we had?
Lorenzo Brown. Or Tyler Lewis if you’re a fan of undersized spunk. Despite being a defensive liability, he could run our offense.
Poor end of game decisions. We took TWO straight 3s when we were down 2 points. Next thing you know, Miami gets free throws, we’re down four. Luckily, Turner bailed us out, but Cat should have released that ball to Lacy or Turner before the Canes fouled us the last time. Maybe there wasn’t enough time, but you gotta play with a sense of urgency. He tends to just hang out at the top of the key. Go TO your shooters.
Dunno if someone already posted it, but we are 2-14 in regular season games after beating Dook or UNCheat, dating back to 1994-95. I guess the Devil literally is a Tarhole. Or vice versa.
