We shoot entirely too many fuc&-ing jump shots. We play ring around the fuc&-ing rosie by passing the ball around the perimeter with 3 guys which leaves us with 2 guys rebounding. Shoot me now.

MISTA WOLFParticipantMaverick Rowan has to have one of the $hittiest shooting percentages in D1.
MISTA WOLFParticipantI’ll take a 3 Star player who works his ass off over a 4 or 5 Star slacker any day. I believe those are the guys DD is bringing in 🙂
MISTA WOLFParticipantThis is year 3 for Lennard and Anya. They are a mirror image of who they were 2 years ago. That’s on them for not putting in the work and that’s on the coaches for not holding them accountable. I mentioned after the Wake game that we need to play our bench as well. At this point, what does it hurt?
MISTA WOLFParticipantAeight,
I’m totally with you. We have 3 ACC caliber players (Cat, Abu, Henderson). Why there has been no development of Freeman and Anya blows my mind. There the same players now as they were 2 years ago. That’s on both parties (coaches and players) and like I said after the Wake game, I don’t see a lot of players being held accountable.
BassPacker,
Lay off the TMZ man :). Your theory sure would be sweet if true.
MISTA WOLFParticipant8-4. 🙂
MISTA WOLFParticipantHow does Gott overcome these kids leaving so were not left with a 7 man rotation? Do you have faith they stay or over recruit and turn some guys away at the last second? Seems to me it’s a damned if you do damned if you don’t scenario for Gott.
MISTA WOLFParticipantI love this site just for the fact that we each see things differently. As a high school basketball coach in Winston Salem, I understand the importance of my coaches view points on things that happen in the game. They see things I don’t. Same thing goes here, we all see things different, based on whether we consider ourselves a realist, pessimist, optimist, etc. What I seen at the Wake game may not be important to you but it was to me. I don’t get to attend the amount of games I’d like to, so when I do, I like to get to the gym as early as possible and soak everything in. Below are a few things I witnessed.
* 3 of the players didn’t have their jersey tucked in before the game and Anya had his sweats down below his a$$ cheeks. That told me they weren’t taking it serious, that this wasn’t a business trip and they weren’t being held accountable for discipline and representation of the school.
* On the first 6 possessions (WF and Pack combined), Abu missed a gimme layup, committed a turnover, shot a baseline 10 footer with a 6’3 man on him and committed a foul. He should’ve been subbed for immediately (and yes he is one that didn’t have his jersey tucked in.)
* All of our shooters float sporadically on their jump shots. On a jump shot, you’re suppose to be jumping straight up or slightly in. Ours guys jump to the left, to the right or backwards. That’s why our shooting percentage is horrendous (looking at you Mav and twin A). Cat Barber is the only one who shoots in rhythm. Simple mistakes that are fixable.
* Our bigs play defense with their hands and not their feet. That’s why their constantly in foul trouble.
* Those other guys on the bench have to play. FEET TO THE FLAME!!
* Cat Barber obviously put in the work over the summer with someone. Why didn’t everyone else?
* These guys need to be on a 2 to 5 ft. leash and be held responsible. I’m afraid their roaming free around the yard….MISTA WOLFParticipantThe only problem I have with Gott is that he isn’t using Kirk. I understand he may not be ready, but the only way he is truly going to get better is putting his feet to the fire. I’d like to see “Little Mac” (Corch) too 🙂
MISTA WOLFParticipant*slow clap*
MISTA WOLFParticipantYou guys are funny. Seriously. Our team is a steamy pile of Thanksgiving diarrhea. FML when it comes to the sports teams I pull for (Pack, Dolphins, Orioles, Pacers)
MISTA WOLFParticipantSame s#it, different season. You think the rebounding was bad last night, wait and watch what the Simmons kid does today against us. Hopefully Gott fixes the issue with rebounding. At least were not hitting on all cylinders YET. We have a lot of room for improvement and that is expected. Sky is not falling here in Pfafftown. The season is young and what matters is that the ball is rolling smoothly come conference time.
MISTA WOLFParticipantMarquise is a puss. He folds with the pressure cooker is turned up. Cheers to him laying horizontally many times come Saturday.
MISTA WOLFParticipantBuddy I work with is a VPI grad and told me that along with Rich Rod, Fedora is on their short list. Believe it when I see it.
MISTA WOLFParticipantIf Mav is Ghost Face Killa, who is Inspectah Deck, RZA, GZA and Method Man?
MISTA WOLFParticipantI was hoping for 3-1 but now looking at 2-2. Hopefully. Guess I’m trading my Saturday pint for a fifth the rest of the season. This was a very depressing header to read :/
MISTA WOLFParticipantI must say the jersey combo brought a tear to my eye. Please be legit.
MISTA WOLFParticipantPreseason rankings mean jack sh*t. With that being said, I expect us to finish 5th 🙂
MISTA WOLFParticipantRye,
I had us at 8-4 (4-4) as well with a loss to VT and Wake (along with BC and UNC). As inept as we’ve been on offense, I can only imagine what the BC defense does to us. We’ve got to win next Saturday and beat the Cuse and Tarheels. I can live with that. I think we give Clemson hell in Raleigh too because it is what we do. We’ve done it to a ranked team every year for last 15 years minus DD’s first year.
MISTA WOLFParticipantGreywolf,
I think a lot of people are sick of the same ole same ole. This was suppose to be the year based on our schedule and things haven’t quite turned out like they were suppose to. I personally don’t get upset like I use to. I played at Methodist down in Fayettenam and I had a hand in whether we won or loss. Now-a-days I don’t think I do. I show up, support the guys and go home happy one way or another. Some people can’t do that.

MISTA WOLFParticipantThe Wake game is a must win. No question. I honestly thought we would be 5-2 heading into our Halloween match up. We still have a chance to do that but must bury the hatchet in Winston Salem. I for one will be there like always, raising hell win or lose because it’s who I am.
MISTA WOLFParticipantDykes, Morris and Doeren? We chose the wrong one I’m afraid.
