MikeParticipant
Understood the reason – wanting to make the game safer. HOWEVER………
This is a virtually worthless resolution. The reason kickoffs are dangerous is players on the kicking team are running down the field full speed to cover – players on the receiving team are blocking. The CONTACT occurs usually before the kick is caught, whether in the end zone, on the 5, or on the 25. The collisions happen anyway. There are some collisions/blocks during the return but these are not the “dangerous” blocks/collisions.
MikeParticipantMy guess is we get the death penalty. Kansas gets a slap on the wrist and head turning the other way (even though the $$$ were more to Jackson than Smith) and Midwest Cornfield U gets 5 years of sanctions in place of Kansas.
MikeParticipantLuckey K-State…………get this. At the half KState 33 Kentucky 29. All is normal, right?
Kentucky is 6-23 from the field, yes only 6 made FG’s. Kentucky is 16-23 from the line! Kansas St has 16 team fouls, Kentucky has 10 team fouls. KState has 3 players with 3 fouls and 2 more with 2.
Dont know who else is with Luckey but why is it that guy always seems to be involved in games like this? Never mind, I know.
MikeParticipantWell a fall to a 10 or 11 seed might be preferable anyway.
THIS is a great point. 8/9 is the worst place to be because you get #1 if you win first game against the other 8/9. Usually a death trap.
MikeParticipantFreeman on one end gets nothing, and Bowman got breathed on for an and 1. Replay shows no contact. This is ridiculous
MikeParticipantBatts shooting the 3 is not our plan
MikeParticipantThe reason this team scares me is they have some athletes (Robinson and Bowman) that we have trouble stopping. Their athleticism type has proven to be trouble for us this year.
MikeParticipantAnd then a touch foul on Dorn on the other end!
MikeParticipantHow is that NOT a foul when Johnson got hammered frmo behind, body on the back, and forearm across the back of the head?
MikeParticipantBennett gets the vote simply by finishing first…….but the improvement shown by both the Pack and Klempsun deserves far more consideration in my book. As a person I think the world of Bennett, but Brownell and Keatts both did a better job of coaching their teams this season and improving on the expected.
MikeParticipantAs soon as I heard this from adidas I was 99% sure there was some fire to go with the smoke
MikeParticipantNo surprise at all!
Adidas is tops on the list and we are adidas. Smith was destined for the league and an agent. Bowen was also implicated and even though we did not get him, we were heavily recruiting and probably had “discussions”. Hoping we did not offer anything so he went elsewhere.
MikeParticipantnice job guys, way to come back and hang on
MikeParticipantThat was just pitiful possession
MikeParticipantLob pass!
Lob pass ill-advised but at least we did throw up a wild 3!
MikeParticipantComposure guys
Mike… you talking to us or them?
PACK on a 11-0 run…
POP!!!
Think I got the reply right now – US, we need to settle down and relax and maintain our composure
MikeParticipantUs, settle down and relax
MikeParticipantComposure guys
MikeParticipantThis is a must win, no doubt to get to 4-4 in conf. But worse, cant lose to last place team.
I just dont get the lack of consistency from game to game.
MikeParticipantDown 5 and the ball and poor shot selection again takes us down
MikeParticipantHappy to see Finley coming back. Why come back? He would be 6th-8th QB in this year’s draft. Another solid year and he could move to 1st round and that is a huge difference in future money.
At one point CBS had him as #1 QB and #2 pick – which he fell from. But there is still so much opportunity for him to jump back to that level.
MikeParticipantSupposedly there is a big fund raiser going on this weekend at UNX. Let’s see here – we are trying to raise millions of dollars and if you slam our program we wont be able to raise the money. If you wait, we can raise the money and then hammer us.
MikeParticipantFor awhile, it looked like we would get Bowen. We are an adidas school. Bowen is likely the “unnamed” player. I wonder if adidas was trying to swing it our way and we baled? Just something to think about – kid ends up in another adidas school.
Of course, they would shut down our program for giving a kid a stick of gum. But hundreds of kids can sign up for fake classes…….also interesting the ties of the agent to UNX football.
MikeParticipantOh how I remember Hester. I was sitting there with a few people who did not know much about him, and I said DONT kick towards him. Then we did, and I said “but that’s OK if you kick it 8 yards deep because not even Hester would return that. I was quickly proven wrong as he went untouched in about 10 seconds flat for the TD and we never recovered from that.
MikeParticipantSo we paid a consultant $90K to find a guy 2 hours down the road who would have been available from a phone call and jump at the opportunity to move up?
