ParticipantSinners!
1) no damn gambling
2) no cards in the house because it leads to number 1
3) no fishing on Sunday because you probably stayed up all night Saturday doing 1&2.And another thing, the only thing el deano was right about was opposing the stupid lottery.
Now pardon me, I’m having whiskey and water for breakfast with my fruitcake.

ParticipantEveryone knows the ACLU, not everyone knows the SPLC and I’ve never heard of the last one. I’m sure the last one has more than enough scientific minded English majors parading around in the name of that great oxymoron, clean water.
SPLC is the nastiest of the lot. It wages ethnic and cultural warfare on behalf of its donors and founders who are to say the least, easily defined.
I’d compromise and send a donation to each in the form of a package.
For Richard Cohen and Morris Seligman Dees I’d include a card as an extra bonus.
Tell your sister in law to find a man or at least send her the Hickory Farms special Christmas sausage sampler.
Merry Christmas losers.

Participantbotb,
It will not take 20 years.
Your comment on “pollution” is non sense BTW.
The dollar as reserve currency has allowed the notion that one can be a non producer and enjoy the fruits of labor. Once that decoupling takes place, a sense of balance will return but not without some great upheaval.
There were never many jobs in many of those 90 counties. Gates County ain’t never been anything but soybeans, swamp and Conway. Your point would better be made in taking about places like Erwin, Roanoke Rapids, Reidsville, High Point, Morganton, Waynesville etc.
The masters of finance brought this about. May the pox on their houses put all past punishments to shame.

ParticipantThe masters that pull the strings are a prickly group. The corporate response to the North Carolina bill mentioned in this piece is telling, willing to punish the state for opposing men in the women’s can but yet willing to deal with countries that deny basic rights to speech, protection of property, etc.

ParticipantMacCallum, of course…
Let’s start with the massive redistribution of real wealth — assets and people — over the last couple decades from all the 90 counties to 10, or worst outside the State.
Then we’ll talk about Jobs that pay a Living Wage, Affordable Housing, Government that’s not a Growth Industry of it’s own, the Quality of Life and a solid Future for our Children and Grand Children.
The first step in finding the solution is correctly defining the problem.
Now I can understand if you think that’s a little bit “Global”.
Of course it is global. The concentrating of populations out of rural and semi rural areas, from towns less than 5,000-10,000 to 40,000 to metro areas has only accelerated under the ideology of globalization. I wrote several pieces 15 plus years ago on future impact that various trade agreements would have on North Carolina. City and county tax bases have been greatly reduced with the lack of manufacturing jobs, industries always paid the bulk of the taxes so that shifted the local tax burden away from the individual. An example if you would allow, because industry purchased water and sewer in bulk, local governments were typically flush with cash and that allowed for a lower tax rate at the local level. There are cultural considerations as well as you funnel people into cul de sacs and their concept of culture becomes more commercial and national instead of local and regional.
In the absence of jobs which “produce wealth” the power of the government will and must grow. The acceleration to the urban is a response to the lack of jobs and opportunity which were once found in cities like Salisbury, Burlington, Hickory, Lexington, Asheboro, Kannapolis, etc and the list goes on and on.
The problem is rampant unrestrained capitalism. It, like communism, is an ideology based on a corruption of reason. If low cost and profit margin are all that matter then concepts and beliefs that help to glue a community together are simply road blocks to profit. North Carolinians might well agree that wages should be higher, that reasonable environmental and worker protections are needed, that companies should provide health care (thus taking out of the governments hands), etc but that drives up the cost of business so companies simply produce it in China. So the very culture and views that brought progress to North Carolina now stand in the way of profit because capitalism requires the use of labor in a country that has inferior health, wages, environmental regulations, insurance etc. to find the greatest return on the investment. Capitalism as practiced now can only function through the production of goods in countries that deny the basic rights considered to be prerequisite for progress. A functioning coherent middle class is essential for stability, it can be the by product of worshipping market forces but it is not the goal of the market or capitalism.
Any sensible policy or policies must reign in the capitalist ideology of profit regardless.

ParticipantIf you are speaking to deviations on the chromosome which result in some form of intersexual condition then it comes to between 1 in 2,000 to 3,000 live births.
Out of 9,5000,000 people in North Carolina that comes to roughly 4,750 people between new born to over 70 years of age.
One hell’va up roar for 0.0005% of the population of North Carolina.

Sounds like a naive young lass, white no doubt(yeah it does), who got a bit loaded and then had sex and group sex with a bunch of black football players(yeah it does).
There is not much detail about her trying to get away, rejecting advances etc. She initiated much of the contact and appears to have regrets about getting hammered(in more ways than one).

ParticipantI have several old friends in Raleigh.
A couple are professors and they may be able to line you up nicely with parking.
The most important thing will be to find a nice brick wall to beat your head against. The old granite outside of Reynolds worked wonders in the 80’s and 90’s. I skipped the brick walls and started throwing Lazyboy recliners when Sendek started 6 players on the floor against Ga Tech back in the late 90’s. It was something I had never seen before thus resulting in a technical foul and my avoidance of brick walls.
I’ve become worried about CTE due to early age extensive viewing of State basketball. I think it started when Joe Spinks of Asheboro lead the Campbell Camels to a victory over Les and company in the early 90s. My first experience was not a brick wall but a wooden deck down at Cherry Grove when Corch was called for walking against Georgetown.
But I’ve graduated from all that Mr Plywood. Watch it on tv at a strip club.

I doubt the “Lutherans” in question care much for the outdoors, hunting or ice fishing. Those low humidity winters can require a good amount of Jergins to deal with getting ashy and I ain’t just talking about the time near Lent.
