Any positives from this game. Hardly. Dominated in all aspects, and so grateful the coach decided to leave Anya back home. Real smart decision. Bet the coach will comment how the team hustled and played hard. Really? Who will be the next coach? Ours is obviously distracted from doing his job. Duke must have felt sorry for us.
DSJ is certainly a talented player, but not perfect, and still lots of room to improve defense, clock management, and remember when game is on the line, to not play hero ball. And certainly needs to work on FT ability, as well as others, on that one. Maybe a W, is in our near future. Just gotta play team ball, defense, and rebound.
From out past few games, it is clear, if we can learn to play the last 6-10 minutes, we have a chance of win. But that is a big IF!
For the team’s sake, I hope they can salvage the season. Though that may save Gottfried. I just hate it for the team to again be sitting home watching. Guess we will see. But again it is nice to have an AD, who responds to our emails, when we have concerns.
I correspond with DY, via email, and this was her reply to me. She has always been good about responding back to me. That is a rarity in an AD.
Yow says she is retiring in 2019, and that has nothing to do with what is going on now. So if a coaching change is necessary, she will do what is best for the university.
Minus Men’s basketball, the women are having great season, wrestling, ranked 8th, and doing well, as well as swimming and diving. All part of State athletics. So I am not against Yow, on this one. But Gott is another story. Seems to be okay with losses, talking about how close we are to winning. Guess he thinks we care how close it is. Still a loss whether 51 or 1. Unacceptable!
Outscored by the Miami bench 35 to 2. Wow! Every game somebody has a career high, and usually shooting 3s. Horrible excuse for coaching and drawing a paycheck. We are certainly capable, with our talent, of beating anyone, but just lost on the court with what to do. Still scratching my head at DSJ at the top of the key, dribbling the ball, with 48 seconds, letting time run down, trailing by 8. No (I) in team.
This is just crap. These guys can not play a full game. Always fall apart in the final 10 minutes. and we run the same stuff, that ain’t working. Losers! Or should I say a loser coach? Please fire him! Inexcusable.

Both games at home could have been won, had we simply made FTs, too many missed by Dennis/Maverick. When the games is close, in the end, we have to make FTs, which have been the difference in and W or an L. Hopefully we do a better job with that today. Don’t wanna see the Miami showboat putting his hand up to his ear.
Last 2 home games, if we can just make FTs, we beat Wake/Cuse. DSJ/Mav just cannot miss these in crucial times of the game. More of the same vs. Miami and we can chalk up another loss. The star from Cuse didn’t miss a single FT. Others for State miss them, but these 2(DSJ/Mav) just cannot do this, especially in the end, with the game on the line.
Still missing the timeout during the loss of the 16 point lead. Has he called it yet? And of course we lose again. Not to Syracuse, but to Gillen. One man beat us. Great defense!
Gillen is killing us, all by himself. Hope we can pull it out in OT, but Gillen has to be shut down.
Great to see the offense not sitting back waiting on DSJ to score, as it takes a team effort. DSJ will get his, but nice to see others step up. Hopefully spelling a win.
What I consider a total collapse doesn’t matter, I am not the AD. That is her call, and so far she is on Gott’s side.
We have not had good luck with NC State alum, becoming coaches. Don’t think it is worth the risk. But I guess there are always exceptions.
And the women apparently watched the men play. The tarheels go off on 3s, making them from any and everywhere. Basketball sucked today.
