All game changing plays should be reviewable. Still irks me how an incompetent official cost us the Clemson football game, which could have turned the season around, now a probable end to the baseball season, because again an incompetent official. Debbie needs to raise hell. No need for the cheaters to complain, all goes their way regardless.
mak4dpakParticipantThe umpire was awful bad calls all day, and of course we end up on the short end. But also can not believe the failed chances, with runners on base, and we score nothing on several occasions, and my biggest beef is in a do or die situation, why is your ace not pitching. Sometimes I am just baffled by Avent. Maybe our end of season play, and our overall record will get us in. Doubtful, but possible.
mak4dpakParticipantI am not overly excited about the helmets, because like most, they are different. Sometimes change is difficult to accept, but the team likes the look, so I am in too. My concern, and priority, is the results of our games on the field, and becoming a contender. What they wear on their head is of little concern, as long as they are winning games. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantRain go away please. Women to try now at 7. If they get to play and win, it is over, lose, and play again at 930.
mak4dpakParticipantAbout a week ago, getting in the ACC tourney was doubtful. But hey we are in regardless of the opposition, though it would be sweet to get a play in win against the holes. We just gotta show up on offense, and defense, and move on. We can do it! Rain delays in Athens today, if you follow the softball team, too. Game now set for 430. Couldn’t get the game yesterday on television, but after going to the Georgia Bulldogs softball web site, able to get tv coverage via the internet. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantUnfortunately some of our fans had no faith that we would play our way into the ACC tourney. But whether you did or didn’t, we are in! GO PACK! Let’s find our way back to Omaha! And here is to the softball team. Beat them dogs, today!
mak4dpakParticipantGive the boy a break, he is not his Dad, he has to make a name for himself. He may be good, or may ride the bench, but appreciate his allegiance to NC State.
04/30/2014 at 10:13 PM in reply to: NC State spring football wrap – bowl appearance not unrealistic #51593mak4dpakParticipantWe go to support the team, who had nothing to do with the schedule. What a bummer for the players, to play in front of a unfilled stadium, cheering them on. Young men who, again had nothing to do with our schedule. But of course blame the coach, with the talent O’Brien left him. This debacle is the result of Lee Fowlup. He got us there, and I truly believe D. Yow is trying to change that, and I have seen positive changes, like women’s softball/basketball, men’s basketball 3 years in the NCAA tourney, after none under Lowe. But it does take time to repair the damage. It is happening, we just have to have patience. I think we will find out more about the kind of coach, Doeren is this year. Go Pack!
04/30/2014 at 8:15 PM in reply to: Troy added to NC State Football Schedule + more on scheduling #51587mak4dpakParticipantWhen I have an issue I always go to the source. So to all of you who are unhappy, please take the time to send an email to [email protected], and let her know. I seriously doubt she reads this blog. But if I have had concerns, I always get a reply back, that I sent. There is power in numbers. Let her know, and maybe this scheduling issue might change sooner than we think. But again we do need to have an impressive season this year, which means beating our nobody teams, and the big boys on the schedule. The more she hears about concerns and unhappy LTRs, she will do something. We all know schedules are years in advance, so I am sure we can give all the credit to Lee Fowlup!
04/29/2014 at 7:10 PM in reply to: Troy added to NC State Football Schedule + more on scheduling #51510mak4dpakParticipantCan’t say I am too excited about the out of conference schedule. But it is what it is. If we ever become the quality team, that draws attention, then the schedule can be changed. Big schools will want to schedule NC State, but we have to earn that respect. This years schedule, though not eye popping, may be a spring board to a brighter future, especially after last year. If Doeren and the team want respect, then earn it. Then the big boys will come calling. And we can’t lose to these teams that nobody expects us to lose to, and we win the games over the big boys like FSU/CLEMSON/LOUISVILLE. That will solve the problem. I am a Wolfpacker to the end, so I will be there, regardless of the opposition.
mak4dpakParticipantAfter last season, had someone told me this year would be so pathetic, I wouldn’t have believed them. Poor Rodon. Shoulda went pro last year. These guys are terrible! I thought with our big home schedule at the end, surely we could pull it out. But these guys can’t hit. Unreal!
mak4dpakParticipantPromising season gone down the tubes. Starts at the top, so Avent is certainly not doing his job. Last season was great, and even the pollsters expected much of the same this year. Guess we all got screwed!
mak4dpakParticipantHonestly started attending State baseball games last year, and had a great time. Had really looked forward to a promising year and team this year, but this team had been quite a disappointment. The nucleus of last year’s team still playing, but team sucks, and will be lucky to make the ACC tourney field. Just down right inexcusable. Started out ranked in top 10, and continued to slide lower and lower. Wish I could explain it. But I am at a loss for words to explain their demise.
mak4dpakParticipantYou just may have something there, ’44rules’, sounds about right.
mak4dpakParticipantAgree on no QB back up plan. But all still somewhat of a mystery til we really play. Hopefully the early schedule we have will get us ready for the likes of FSU, and Clemson. It can’t be worse than last year. Also did anyone get the attendance numbers for the game? Saw the smurfs on the news, and the stands looked pretty empty.
mak4dpakParticipantNot football related but what is up with the baseball team? Hopefully the upcoming home stand will get them back on track, way too many errors costing us games, like the Duke game today, allowing 6 runs in the last two innings and losing by one. UNC Tuesday at the DBAP, but doesn’t count on our record. We are certainly underachieving this year, after last season, with most of the team back. That has got to change, or we don’t even make the ACC tourney.
mak4dpakParticipantStill not a real game situation, but our new QB looked good, as well as our 1st team defense. Guess we will find out how good in the fall. Go Pack!
04/08/2014 at 7:42 PM in reply to: TJ Warren declares for NBA draft; future of NC State basketball #50960mak4dpakParticipantI wish he could have stayed another year, but figured this would happen. So good luck in the NBA. Guess we can focus on baseball now. After faltering for 10 games in the ACC, the baseball team seemed to find themselves in the Clemson series in SC this weekend. Watched it on TV, Sunday, and Monday, where we won, taking 2 of 3 from a good Clemson team. Hope we continue on that track, and return to the team of last year, and perhaps another CWS visit. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantHope Warren decides to return, and as for the Lewis/Barber comparisons, I vote Lewis, sure he didn’t score like we needed, but he knew how to run the offense, and dish out the assists. Barber has talent but too many times he is too fast and out of control, forgetting the team concept. He needs to learn to show more leadership if he is gonna be our future PG.
mak4dpakParticipantJust a note on the Gott haters. Guess everyone forgot the struggles Coach K had when he first went to Duke, and now they remain in the national spot light, and lest we forget our former coach who never ever got us in the big dance. Gott has been at State 3 years, and 3 years in the dance. Who knows what could have been this year, if the guys hadn’t forgot how to shoot FTs, against SL. I think we could have beaten Louisville. But again that is my opinion. Everyone else is entitled to theirs. As for Tyler, I was disappointed in his lack of scoring this year, but he was certainly a general on the floor, and knew how to pass out some assists, with low turnovers. He will be missed next year. Hope Barber can grasp the concept of playing PG. He just didn’t impress me, except for his speed.
mak4dpakParticipantTyler clearly was not the scorer he was last year, with lots of 3s, and that disappointed me, but minus the scoring, he was a much better leader of the offense, with few turnovers, and lots of assists. Barber on the other hand was mostly out of control, and many times lost track of the shot clock only to force a wild shot. So if Barber is our future PG, then he needs to work on being a PG, that is conscious of his teammates and the clock. And I am sorry to hear Tyler is transferring out. Wish him the best.
mak4dpakParticipantI figure there is a strong possibility that TJ is leaving, but this Tyler Lewis thing is just crazy. He certainly knew how to run the team better than Barber and will be missed. Wish him well.
03/26/2014 at 9:56 PM in reply to: National Media Outlets Say “TJ Warren To The NBA” But TJ Says “Undecided” #49637mak4dpakParticipantWe have some great recruits coming next year, as well as returning players. And I for one hope Warren is a returner. Think another year will be good to increase his stock in the NBA. But his decision. Just hope he makes the right one. We know he is a star at NC State, but there are quite a few of those in the NBA. Hope we know soon.
mak4dpakParticipantAfter winning a national championship, ole Roy ended up in the
NIT the next season 09/10, and lost, with a team of inexperienced players, so at least Gott made the NCAA tourney, and who knows what could have been, if not for the collapse at the FT line with our 16 point lead. Even Louisville struggled to pull away from the St Louis team until the end.mak4dpakParticipantI was cheering for the ACC, but losing to Dayton, was okay, since they have our boy Archie at the helm. Congrats to Archie.
