Heard the radio announcers compare this to the first game Rivers played in, where we had to beat Arkansas State, in OT. Brissette in much the same boat after not playing for 2 years. We will improve on our mistakes, from game film, and become a better team, and learn to play a full game. I still support DD, and feel he has us headed in the right direction. It just doesn’t happen overnight. Even Lou Holtz said you can’t judge a season off the first game.
Didn’t realize this, but after reading the Fayetteville paper, seems GS has won 6 national championships, and considering we still have lots to improve on, yet won, I say KUDOS to the team, who will continue to get better. Especially being at our best at the end of the regular season, when we head to chapel hell!
4got to say, I was okay going for it on 4th down, just think the wrong play was called, might of had better success to the wide side. But again a win, and hopefully an easier game against ODU, so we can continue to improve.
Good job in the second half, something to build on, with mistakes that can be corrected. Nevertheless a win. Funny enough I told the people behind me, at the game, the final would be 24-23. Guess I was right?
One week away? Where has the time gone? Here is to a great and overachieving season. We need it after last. But it can happen. Go Pack!
Sorry I just can’t hop on the doom and gloom wagon. Losing Salahuddin was bad news, but there is more than one LB, and who is to say his replacement can’t step up to the challenge. Looking for good things this season. And maybe an early return for Salahuddin. The verdict is still not out. Go Pack!
State begins practice today. Hope coach Doeren has them ready. Possible 3 wins to start the season, then the number 1 team comes to town. Wouldn’t that be an incredible upset? Not saying it is gonna happen, but what a win it would be.
Last year was very forgettable, but I am not going throw in the towel on the upcoming season. I will wait and see what takes place before passing judgement. Go Pack!
I have to agree, considering the talent we had on the baseball team, with 3 MLB prospects, the season was blown by Avent and his staff, and knowing DY, he better watch his back, he might be out of a job, and deservedly so.
Not an impressive out of conference schedule, but if we can hold our own in the conference, it should be less of an issue. But we certainly do need to beef up the out of conference schedule, to get butts in the seats.
In case someone mistook my comment for tarhole pitty. NOT! LBSU are called the dirtbags. Guess they pick a name nobody would take offense to. Back to Chapel Hell for the holes! Still searching for a championship! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!
All I can say about Long Beach State is there a bunch of dirtbags, in beating unx 12-5, and knocking them out of the NCAA tourney!
My bad GT is still in the hunt but FSU/Clemson are done, and hopefully after Sunday the holes are sent packin! No umps to cheat for them in Gainesville, Florida!
How many of the top seeds like Florida are done in baseball, and then two teams we won series over Clemson/GT are done? Maybe we did deserve a bid, had the cheaters not cost us the tarholes game. I truly think we would have done better. But again we dug the grave, so we have to lie in it. Again still not sure some games lost d/t poor coaching on Avent’s part. Just hope LBSU, or College of Charleston, will send the cheaters back to chapel hell!
Avemt did have some suspect coaching on key situations. Maybe the team made him look better than he is last year!
Incompetent? More like competent cheater. No umpire should ever be allowed to call a game for the school he graduated from. If could be reprimanded, that would be great, though we are still at home watching. Go Gators, or ABC (anybody but Carolina), cheaters in the class, and cheaters on the field. Too bad replay couldn’t have been used on the call, that probably did us in, not that we didn’t have our chances. Guess we can only hope our star players return, for next season, with the memory of what conspired this season.
Well my main concern is that we somehow get a second chance to prove ourselves. Selection is Monday @ noon.
I do believe that GT is in fact in the championship game. Guess I was right! Hoping that our taking the series from them will help us find a bid. Guess we will see.
As for my remark about GT in the championship game. That is what the announcers said would take place if UVA beats unc, while I watched it on tv last night.
I will buy into the coach’s theory, that look at what we did in the last half of the season. And our overall record certainly qualifies us. Maybe not, but I won’t give up hope until it is a done deal.
Thanks to the Noles, and Wahoos, the holes are not in contention for the ACC tourney championship. 0-2, and the cheaters are out! GT is in the championship game, and we beat them 2 out of 3. Still hoping for that NCAA bid.
