Glad the coach don’t cut anyone any slack, including himself. The play on the court was just awful. And not enjoyable to be watching from the stands. Lacey and Turner were our death. Veteran players who have lead this team, just didn’t show up. I don’t think the practices prior to the Pitt game are going to be pleasant. And rightfully so. As the coach said we may have new line up. Glad he called out players for just playing a game of catch on the court. And we certainly do deserve our money back after that waste. Hope that is the last time we, as fans, ever have to endure such a pathetic game. If not, Duke will destroy us on 1/11/15, and we will not be playing in the post season, unless we sneak into the NIT.
mak4dpakParticipantWas disappointed in the team getting somewhat complacent, after getting the big lead, should have never been that close. But on the positive side it was a win, in a bowl for Coach Doeren, the man who is supposed to be in over his head. One of the youngest D1 football teams in the nation. This year was a success, and with pretty much the nucleus of the team back next year, with our new recruits, next year could even be more promising, except for one Newbern recruit, who pledged his allegiance to the tarholes, who failed to succeed this year. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantDiscovered that also in looking at the Hofstra schedule, so do we win by 50 vs Jacksonville? Maybe more playing time for the bench.
mak4dpakParticipantHopefully Duke will be pissed after their loss, and kick the holes arse next week, then when they return home, we need to give them a nice season’s farewell!
mak4dpakParticipantMeanwhile the holes struggle to beat Central. I like the sound of that. Hope that trend continues.
mak4dpakParticipantI like them, but regardless of what we wear, what comes from the inside will decide the game. We have to have the heart and will to perform well in our last home game, without costly turnovers.
mak4dpakParticipantCorrection, win out and we are 7-5.
mak4dpakParticipantIf we win out we would be 7-6 going to a bowl. Not 6-6. Perfectly okay, but still a long way to go. We were in the game yesterday, and ready to score a TD, when the demise started. 3 turnovers, and the team quit. Sure our defense sucked, but before that took place, we made their defense look no better. Our QB has got to play smarter, and be more aware. Hopefully he makes better choices vs. WF, and the the tarholes. And couldn’t agree more about the division break down. The coastal teams for the most part suck, while we sit in the Atlantic with FSU, Clemson, Louisville, BC. All bowl bound.
mak4dpakParticipantOn the bright side, Cutcliffe had 4,5,3,3,6 wins in his first 5 years, and now look at them. We are in our second year, and still possible to get 6 wins. As for basketball I would say the team had a successful exhibition game vs. Queens. No stars, but balance among the team, which will take us a long way, with 2 freshmen leading the scoring.
mak4dpakParticipantWhat a HOMECOMING???????? I don’t think GT ever punted the ball And Jacoby was definitely the MVP for GT. Turnovers, and continues to overthrow our receviers when they are open for a sure score. Sorry, but now I am starting to see why he lost the starting job at Florida. And the defense could never figure out how to stop the triple option. Except for maybe the one play where we stopped them, only to get a 15 yard penalty to give them a first down, and eventually another score. Not sure I want to even show up next week. Will we beat WF? Who knows?
mak4dpakParticipantAs for the non class attenders to our west. Well they lost! Perfect day!
mak4dpakParticipantOffense somewhat inept today. But did the defense ever show up. Defense definitely won this won, and played a great game overall. Now the offense needs to get back on track at home next week, with an improved defense. Looking for ACC win number 2. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantGuess Ole Roy is more important than covering the fb game. Hopefully we win, even without the blog support.
mak4dpakParticipantSo this is Saturday, and game day vs. Syracuse, yet Roy is still the subject of the day, with no game day blog? That is messed up!
mak4dpakParticipantThe game @ Louisville was very winnable, even though we didn’t, but considering they (Louisville), took Clemson to the wire in Death Valley, where we lost 41-0, I think we have made some gains, and the defense was much better Saturday vs UL, even it had lapses. Louisville clobbered Syracuse, so maybe things will play out and we will win the last 4 games, after this 4 game slide. It is possible, but that will be up the team and coaches doing their jobs. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantFigures we get a unx hand me down, that was sorry then, and still incompetent. Wake up Doeren! This guy is killing us. Even if the season is well along, would gladly welcome Herring back.
mak4dpakParticipantDefense is destroying our promising season. Seems to play the same every week, with no signs of improvement. Arm tackling and missed assignments week after week. No change to me means, our DC/Huxtable, is not doing his job. Inability to adjust to what other teams of late have been throwing at us. Definitely needs to be replaced, or prove he is better than what he has shown us so far. The fans deserve better!
mak4dpakParticipantWith the last two games, I am ready for some new blood on defense. They can be no worse than what I have witnessed in person at Clemson, and in Raleigh vs. BC. Maybe somebody will earn a starting job, for the rest of the season. Can we bench Huxtable?????
mak4dpakParticipantDefense is absolutely pathetic! What looked to be a shootout changed when their defense made adjustments, and our defense kept playing the same sorry crap, and we got ran over. One would think this far into the season the defense would have learned something, but no change. Huxtable needs to go as the DC. The defense is a joke! Another long season, and possibly another perfect conference record.
mak4dpakParticipantTime to put a W in the conference game column!
10/07/2014 at 8:01 PM in reply to: The Wolfpack Is At A Fork In The Road…Which Way Will They Go? #58325mak4dpakParticipantAs bad as Saturday was, it goes down as loss, regardless if 1 point or 41 points. We surely are better than what we showed, but still young. Perhaps a good smack in the mouth is just what the doctor ordered. Guess we will find out Saturday. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantGrant it back ups came in late in the second half, but we held them to 10 points, unlike 31 in the first, and had we used better time management we had at least 3 points going in at half. I hope the players and coaches are looking in the mirror this week. The FSU game is clearly out of their memory now, after that white washing. Live and learn!
mak4dpakParticipantGlad to see the team has a sense of humor, after nearly knocking off the number one ranked team in the country, who by the way destroyed Wake today, we go to Clemson, including me, and lay an egg. Yes the defense was putrid to say the least, but they stayed on the field most of the game. The offense caused this. Terrible, and when it didn’t work, we just ran it again. Everyone seemed as if they were in awe of the team and the crowd, and after all the accolades on the team and Brissett, they just did not show up today. Totally embarassing, but the good thing is after the mountain hike to the stadium, then up the top deck almost to the top row, I got to leave at halftime. Waste of money and time. Coaching did a very poor job of preparation with the team. And after falling behind by several scores, we seemed to have no urgency, and even punted on 4th down on our last offensive drive. And of course we made FSU look bad after that whipping, I never ever wanna see a performance like that again, but on the bright side, losses are losses whether you lose by 1 or 41. We better see something against BC. Already 0-2 in the ACC.

10/03/2014 at 1:51 PM in reply to: Where Does NC State Football Go From Here? I’ve Got Some Questions for You #57835mak4dpakParticipantJust remember we were not given the slightest chance at winning last week, and danged near pulled it off. So here is to optimism. I think the best game we played all year was our only road game, and South Florida gave Wisconsin all it could handle on the Badgers own field. So hopefully we can continue that trend.
