mak4dpakParticipant
And it certainly made me forget yesterday, after watching the video of State/unc in this years football/basketball @ CH. Thanks, Royal Wulff!
mak4dpakParticipantIn checking boxscores, Lacey/Turner were a combined 9 of 31 shooting, and the team percentages BC 58%, NC State 33%. And the coach don’t shoot the ball. Guess we will see Tuesday vs Clemson, if the guys learned anything from the loss, to BC. I, for one, certainly hope so. Win that, and we should be okay at home vs Syracuse.
mak4dpakParticipantCongrats to the Men’s Swimming team for their championship!
mak4dpakParticipantThe team and the coach had every right to celebrate after the win in CH. And after that, move on. Next game. Again the coach can’t play on the court. A full season has been played, and these guys don’t know how to show up for a game? Give me a break. We play a lowly BC team, with a losing record, and think all we have to do is be there to win. When the guys start taking every game seriously, we will find more success. So yes, I blame the guys, no matter their ages. They know what they did, and know it wasn’t on the coach. Again there has to be leader on the court, and we had no leader. Lacey/Turner/Barber, played uninspirted games. We lose.
mak4dpakParticipantWhy can’t we show up for every game like we do for UNC/Duke? These guys just don’t get it. Lacey was clearly the biggest disappointment, and not to mention the constant outside bricks from Turner. Inexcusable! The two should of had to find a way back home. This is the end of season, when you put it all on the table. And we didn’t. In the last 16 wins over Duke/unc we have a 1-16 record. Mental, mental, mental!!!!!!
mak4dpakParticipantHow many games have been played this year? Enough. This is not on the coach, this is on the players for coming out flat. Their own mentality, after a big win over unc. Lacey, Turner, Barber, our big scorers just not in it today, and when they are not, we are not, spelling another loss. Tis getting old. We better win the last two. or we are out of the dance.
mak4dpakParticipantLacey, Lacey, Where for art thou, Lacey?????????
mak4dpakParticipantLacey still a no show, and Turner not much better. We are doomed!
mak4dpakParticipantHorrible first half! Where is Lacey? No show! Hope he wakes up for the second half, and the defense needs to step it up. This is a team with one conference win, we can’t give them two. But if we continue to play like we are, we will.
02/24/2015 at 10:10 PM in reply to: State wins in Chapel Hill! Has Dean Smith’s pact with the devil expired? #75712mak4dpakParticipantI still say, the coach never had a problem. The guys just had to show up. Great win for the Coach and his team. In the Dean dome of all places. No smack talk from tarheel fans tomorrow. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantMost fans don’t keep up with women’s sports. Wish they would. So proud of the Wolfpack women, and what they were able to do against a taller and highly ranked foe. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantGreat win for the men vs VT, then today/Sunday, the women knock off #10 Duke, in Reynolds. Way to go ladies. Love to see a follow up blog on their game.
mak4dpakParticipantNice to watch us win, without having the end of game stress of wondering, if we are gonna hang on and win, Now go to the hill and level the tarholes!
mak4dpakParticipantTime for a good blowout, no stress game. Come on Pack!!!!
mak4dpakParticipantNext step. Beat the Hokies!
mak4dpakParticipantOne game at a time. The team has to play every game for their life, from beginning to end. We have proven we can compete with anyone at home, and one the road. But we can have no lapses from here on out. Then we will see where we sit. Hopefully sitting in the NCAA tourney. I figured we would beat UVA @ home, and lose to Louisville on the road, but it reversed itself, and we are on track to get there. 5 games remain, and if we go win them all, or perhaps lose 1, we should be safe.
mak4dpakParticipantCoach isn’t failing anything. His players have to man up and do what they are coached to do. They are the ones on the court. And alot of that is due to immaturity, because we are, as every announcer on TV says, a young team. But regardless, it is still a quality win, over a top 10 team on their court.
mak4dpakParticipantNo doubt about it, after beating Louisville, on their court, Gottfried certainly needs to be fired, because he can’t coach, and his team certainly doesn’t play defense. Great win, when the guys show up to play, we can beat anyone, anywhere. Again, when the team shows up, and does what they are coached to do. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantWith all the doom and gloom, one would think we’re being dominated. Down by one at the half, and shutting down Harrell. Not bad! We must being doing something right. Go Pack! Joe Lenardi says a win today, puts us in the tourney. Here’s hoping.
mak4dpakParticipantExcuses are negative, and facts are actual occurences. So no bubble bursting here. Still feel the same way. Not throwing Gottfried under the bus We are all entitled to our opinions, whether we agree or not. And as in the prior post, time will tell. Go Pack!
mak4dpakParticipantGlad to entertain you Rick (keymaster), but what you call excuses I call facts. But again that is my take on the season. Don’t get the feeling you are on the Gottfried band wagon. But again that is just my take. Coaches don’t play the game, and if not for this coach, we would probably would lose by large margins, like we did under our former coach.
mak4dpakParticipantWin the rest of our games. Should have beaten UVA, and figure we lose to Louisville, so we now have to beat the Cards. Difficult yes, but not impossible.
mak4dpakParticipantThis team had no preseason expectations, but because if has made the mistake of proving it is better than expected, we think we have to win every game with a young team. So since that is not happening, fire the coach, and maybe get someone not nearly as able. He has gotten us in the tournament, every year, yet we have put our selves in jeopardy of making it this year, because we lost quite a few close ones. Gott is the coach, and he can’t play on the court. We fuss about no defense, when defense kept us in the UVA game. Guess it is Gotts fault when guys miss wide open shots, and most notably a layup in the UVA game. These guys have played long enough, that they know what to do, and when you lead them there, you can’t make them do it. 33% shooting? This team has to accept responsiblity also. It is not always on the coach. And there are no perfect coaches out there. When we lose he is hated, and when we are on top, he is the greatest. I am still in his corner, and I am sure DY will not make any rash decisions on him, because of some discrutled fans. We can still salvage this season. It is certainly better than 6 straight seasons of no invites to the big dance.
mak4dpakParticipantAnother close loss, and again disappointing. Can’t help but wonder if the BS calls by the refs, are for the benefit of the incompetent Carl Hess. But again like the last 3 or 4 games, Ralston Turner is a no show. Just absolutely pathetic shooting. He better find himself soon, or any chance we have is doomed. But as the announcers on the radio pointed out UVA is a veteran team, and we are made up of a bunch of freshmen and sophmores. I can’t throw Gott under the bus, and truly feel if we had a veteran team like UVA, we would have won the close ones. Still a work in progress. Hope we can pull the upset in Louisville. Yes, probably doubtful, but not impossible, if Turner finds his touch. Our good start heightened our expectations, but this team was not even expected to do as well as it has.
mak4dpakParticipantACC all the way, and no problem with the new teams. As for reminders on the last second shot to win the game, have we forgotten the ND/UNC where we were a shot away from a win. It works both ways. The conference is what it is, so we just have to deal with it, and the team needs to show up for the entire game. It still can turn out good for State. Starts tomorrow. Go Pack! Beat the Wahoos!
