We have had some good wins, and some close calls against lesser teams. But by no means are we playing at our best. So rather than pass judgement this early, I will see how things play out the next few weeks, especially with the return of Henderson, which should help Cat.
mak4dpakParticipantObviously there were quite a few emails to DY, with the core of each letter pertaining to the same thing with where the football program is headed. So me and the others were sent a response from DY, and yes there will be sit down discussion between coach and AD, on the direction we are headed, DY also pointed out the injuries and loss of players for whatever reason, as well as coach mentioning possible changes.
mak4dpakParticipantWatching Bama whip Mich State, and again reminded, like last night, that championship teams never take their foot off the gas, no matter how far ahead they may be. Miss State, sure never backed down on us, as Canada likes to go in cruise mode after we get ahead, and play not lose. Even though that hasn’t been an issue the last several games. Really will kill any enthusiasm I may have, if we bring back the same assistants, next season. If so, we are surely screwed.
mak4dpakParticipantOn the bright side, if Clemson proceeds to win the National Championship, we can say that we put up more points on them, than any other opposition. 41 points.
mak4dpakParticipantAgain I think Deoren is capable, but he has got to lose his allegiance to his assistants, when they are not doing their job. Lest he lose his. And hope he doesn’t let Gallaspy defect. We need his talents.
mak4dpakParticipantSo much concern about the unis. I for one don’t care what they wear, as long as they win. And that certainly didn’t happen. Pass defense killed us, the qb for MSU had all the time in the world to pass the ball, and if we held them for 2 downs, you could pretty much count on them converting the 3rd down conversion. Guys open all day. Again, I totally blame our incompotent DC/Huxtable. And the offense didn’t do their job, in keeping our inept defense off the field. Again the great play calling by our OC/Canada. We are what we are, and until we take the steps to be anything more, we will stay right where we are. I hope DD, can realize they, and take the proper step, or else DY will send him packing. What a miserable way to spend a day, sitting in the pouring rain, watching your team get whipped.
mak4dpakParticipantBad, enough with the pouring rain, and we get our a” beat! I have defended Doeren, and still think he is a capable coach, his problem is his incapable OC/DC. We are so predictable, and still don’t seem to change or adjust to that. So Huxtable/Canada need to go, and if Doeren can’t see that, then he needs to go too. I hear the athletes excuse, but we hang with FSU/Clemson when we play, and they are top 10, with the Tigers playing for the National Championship. The team looked so unprepared for this game, and lacked any energy. This again is on the OC/DC, and they need to go. I was hoping Canada would get the ECU job, and that would rid us of at least one of them. I hope Yow, has a sit down talk with the coach on the direction the football program is going. Changes are needed. And that doesn’t mean changing conferences.
mak4dpakParticipantBC and Syracuse are on alternating schedules, home/away, whereas all the SEC doesn’t have anything near, except perhaps USC. But regardless of the sentiment, we all know there will never be any future plans for us leave the ACC, for the SEC. Just as the rumor that started about GT definitely bolting for the SEC, yet in the ACC they remain.
mak4dpakParticipantIf we think fanbase is an issue in the ACC, join the SEC and it will suck. Too far to travel for away games, not to mention the ACC fared better in football this year, with how many top rated teams? SEC is not happening, we just have to figure out how to improve our image in the ACC.
mak4dpakParticipantAgain depth is an issue, with unexpected early departures, which can’t be anticipated. As previously mentioned, imagine the team with Lacey/Warren/Washington, etc. What could have been. This is what set us up for what are dealing with now. Georgia had close losses to Seton Hall, Kansas State, yet only beat High Point by 4, and Winthrop by 10. So it may not be as bad as it appears, though there is clearly room for improvement.
mak4dpakParticipantIt does not look good for the upcoming ACC schedule, but players can change, and here is to hoping that this change will take place, and change our pessimistic attitude toward the upcoming season. More playing time together will hopefully improve chemistry with this team, and players will step up to the challenge and potential that is within them. Should also help with the return of
Terry Henderson. Go Pack!12/14/2015 at 7:51 PM in reply to: 13th ranked Wrestling team wins at #4 Oklahoma State 19-15 #94512mak4dpakParticipantSo this blog has been on for quite a long time. Nothing going on in NC State athletics, when we are playing basketball, on both the men’s and women’s sides. Love to see some new news, as I check daily.
12/12/2015 at 9:12 AM in reply to: 13th ranked Wrestling team wins at #4 Oklahoma State 19-15 #94419mak4dpakParticipantPack now top 10 ranking @ #5 in the nation. Way to go!
mak4dpakParticipantHear Canada is in the running for the ECU job. I wouldn’t mind that happening at all. Our offense if pretty predictable, and DD ain’t firing his staff, regardless.
12/08/2015 at 4:34 PM in reply to: 13th ranked Wrestling team wins at #4 Oklahoma State 19-15 #94379mak4dpakParticipantOur athletics continue to make strides under Debbie Yow. Guess it took a woman with balls, so to speak, to improve the athletic programs at NC State.
mak4dpakParticipantGreat news! I was dreading a trip to Annapolis, thinking we were ruled out for the Belk bowl. Now it is time to go win a bowl game.
mak4dpakParticipantWe are all frustrated with the game against the holes, but we still gotta back the team. Time to go bowling. Checked out some possible projections, and it listed the Military Bowl vs Navy, or the Belk Bowl vs Auburn. I would really like the Charlotte trip better. Guess we will find out.
mak4dpakParticipantJust to clarify, although I pointed out that the officiating was suspect, the outcome of the game would have not changed, because we came out of the gates unprepared, and when we finally got on track, we were too far behind. So there are no excuses from me on the performance of our team. Blame nobody but themselves for this one.
mak4dpakParticipantWith the Holes record, should anybody be surprised at the poor officiating. Couldn’t see the late hit on Williams, but is kinda crazy that an official nowhere near the play throws a flag. But I did clearly see from my section that Switzer trapped a ball, and was called a completion, and even though the fans/coaches expressed their displeasure, the officials let the game continue, and in another incident with a pass to the endzone, from MW, Switzer, held our guy preventing him from intercepting. Swofford should be proud. Just hope Clemson is back to form next Saturday, because I can’t bare the thought of hearing loud mouth Tarhole fans.
11/28/2015 at 10:20 PM in reply to: MOAR BLOOD Makes the Grass Grow For Your Children’s Children KILL KILL KILL Game Thread #93558mak4dpakParticipantI like Doeren, but really agree he needs to replace his offensive/defensive coordinators, especially evident in today’s game. And certainly hope the rumors on Gallaspy are wrong, as he has shown lots of promise after getting to play.
mak4dpakParticipantRivalry week and no mention of today’s game on ESPN, even though the holes are top 15. So hope we givem something to talk about at the game today. No turnovers, and lots of pressure on MW, like last year, while shutting down Hood, and we can again come out on top.
mak4dpakParticipantRomo spotted the Panthers 17 points in this one. Deserved MVP. Here is hoping Brissett doesn’t find the same generosity. but wouldn’t mind it from Marquise.
mak4dpakParticipantHoping today starts a 2 game losing streak for Carolina. First today from the Cowboys, the Saturday from the Pack! Happy Turkey day!
mak4dpakParticipantThis team is far from meeting it’s potential, and didn’t have the greatest performance, but the important thing was, they found a way to win, and against a top 25 team, with a so called star player.
mak4dpakParticipantSo with all the attention given to Gott and when the team loses, looks like they deserve a blog for kicking LSU butt, though most on here probably didn’t expect such a result, with a so called long season ahead of us. Go Pack! Congrats in the 11 point win, and low point total by their superstar Ben Simmons, who also fouled out.
