And this same loser coach was triumphant over the Canes, and not even close. Like I said, not the coach, clearly on the the team, and when they decide to show up for the whole game, we win. The coach had every right to call them out last game, and see what happened.

We have been to the NCAA tourney, every year under Gott. Last year we went a long ways in the tourney, but this year we are struggling, with a team that doesn’t resemble the team from last year. We had hope in Terry Henderson, but still hasn’t returned, so as the season continues to go down the tubes, we seem to think this is all on the coach, and of course he saw all the circumstances that led us to where we are now. Hardly, and this far along in the season he has every right to call out the team for not performing to their capabilities. He can coach all he wants to, but he stands on the sidelines, and what the players do on the court is on them. How do we suddenly have a burst of offense in many of the games when there are a few minutes left in the game, and the guys are trying to pull out a victory. If they played from the beginning it wouldn’t be necessary. The Pitt game showed our capabilities, but it is just not being shown in every game, thus our poor record in the ACC. When the guys decide to show up when it is game time, and play 2 halves, we will find success. But until then we will continue the downward slide. But even one bad year is not a reason to dismiss a coach. Be careful what you ask for you might get it. And until someone has reliable sources, on the departure of Barber/Abu, please stop spreading more negativity. That is the last thing the team needs.

If our bigs can gain some confidence, when they get the ball and won’t be afraid to drive to the basket, instead of looking for someone to pass to, we could be much more successful, so here is hoping that changes, and Henderson is back soon. We can still salvage this season, though it looks bad, it is possible. But starts Wednesday vs. GT. We have had our chances to win every game we lost.

Depth is killing us, because we will never have the most talented team in the league, with the holes/dokies around, so we can’t survive with a short bench. Speaking of, when is Terry Henderson ever gonna play, it is getting beyond ridiculous at the time it has taken to recover. Perhaps his doctor was paid off to delay his recovery, as we are playing much better now, and would certainly be over the hump with his addition. Guess we will wait another 2 weeks, as we have since the ACC started. Time to dress out and play, Henderson. Or find another doctor, who isn’t a dokie or a hole.

Sounds like the offense should be exciting to watch, and should be productive, and as someone said, a great offense can make for a great defense, as too many times this year the defense spent too much time on the field.

Can’t believe there is no game thread for the State/holes game. Especially since the first half has been a shocker. Hope they continue to play like that, or even better. Proud of the team so far. One more half to go.

This is the ACC, so just because a coach is highly successful in another conference, doesn’t guarantee they will do the same in the ACC. We are not having a good season, but have been in all our ACC games. Different team without Washington/Lacey, and an injured Henderson. Considering the success of the previous 3 coaches, I am happy with Gott. Though it probably won’t happen, this season still has time to turn around. So give Gott a break, as I don’t think anyone else could do any better with the state of this team. They may even do worse. As for DY, whoever think she should be fired, really are not concerned for the success we have found since she took over. Even Coach K had people wanting him gone in his first 3 seasons. But they didn’t and look at their success. One bad season should not merit being fired. Look @ Lowe, who stayed way too long, yet never made the NCAAs. DY took care of that, and we have been there every year. Be careful what you ask for, as you might get it. We do not have a good record when hiring former Wolfpackers, as coaches.

While our men’s team is struggling, for those who may care, our women’s team is becoming very successful this season. Just watched a game on tv tonight, where the women win a game at Duke, where they have not won in 20 years. Way to go Wes Moore. Sure will be glad when they experience their new home in Reynolds next year.

I can’t blame the coach for this one either. Every game we have lost in the ACC, we have had chances to win, but the common problem in each game is the poor shooting percentages, in FGs, and for some player FTs. Yet again we have had chances to win, so if we ever learn to shoot, winning should be no problem.

Certainly a sparse crowd at the game. Understandably so, being there myself. Same ole song and dance. Play like crap most of the game, then try to pull it out at the end. And Anya and Caleb are killing us with their poor play. Can we just send a card to chapel hell and tell them we decline the invitation? It will be ugly, or should I say uglier, as we have shot miserably, and every team we play seems to have their best 3 point shooting game against us. Perhaps we can persuade Henderson to go ahead and start playing. We are in desperate need. But I will say hats off to Abu, who had a great game, if he could just get the rest to catch on. Season seems to be getting longer, with each game we play.

Long wait for football season to start, but looking forward to the new and exciting offense. Perhaps DD is looking for a new DC, and keeping it under raps. Hux does need to move on.

Football news for State, as DD has hired the Boise State OC. Sounds like great news. No more predictable offense, we have come accustomed to. Perhaps a new blog on this news would be appropriate. Would love to hear more.

0-3 does look bad for our ACC record. But on the bright side, as badly as we played at times in those games, we could be 3-0. No blow out losses, and we still are not playing out best, and shooting is bad. If and when the shooting improves, and out bigs can learn how to provide some offense, we be back to winning. In the mean time, guess we just have to hope it happens soon.

Our front line players in Abu/Anya have to be the worst in the country. Especially Anya. Just a big goof. We certainly can’t rely on offense from them, for that matter the rest of the team. Seems we decide to start playing when time is running out, and again coming up short. The shoulda/coulda/wouldas. Awful! 0-3 in the conference is a great start. And I ain’t blaming coach, cause these guys can’t shoot. Pathetic!

If the sentiment toward Gott exists at UVA, it certainly looks like Bennett is on his way out. Ranked in top 10, and then losing to VT and GT. Just saying! We have a long season ahead and things can change. We were capable of winning both our games, and not like we didn’t have the chance.

I honestly think the potential is there for a good team, only problem is the guys have to have more confidence in themselves, and they are not confident, and play hesitantly, waiting for someone else to step up. Right now Barber is the only one that has confidence. Our bigs have show signs of being capable at times, but they can’t be intimidated. And hopefully the return of Henderson will boost our team confidence. And lest I forget, make free throws. We could have won the last two games, had we been better at the FT line.

Bad to lose, especially at home.and uniforms would have made no difference. It is all mental. But was shocked to see us come back late in the second half, after being down by double digits. If they would just play with that urgency the whole game, some of our losses would have been wins. And please give our bigs some classes in shooting FTs.

Yes, it does look bad for the team, but somewhat of a silver lining is that, VT defeated #4 UVA, who never had a 14 point lead, and played and shot well, compared to our poor 32% 2nd half shooting. So it may not be as bad as we think. Just gotta play a full game.

Read the stats on Ledford, and really like what I saw, as well as being a young coach, with more excitement. Did a great job with the App State offense.

If Canada deserved firing, then surely Hux don’t need a job on Doeren’s staff. Absolutely awful play calling, when the average fan could even see that. The last game was our most recent example. The QB for Miss State had all day to pass in both halves. No adjustments at all, and we saw lots of that during the regular season. Much like the first quarter vs. the holes. I sure hope DD has the good sense to rid us of Hux. We deserve better.

And now we have an exciting BB season to look forward too, with our dominating front line players. Unstoppable. Please excuse my fun! Looks to be a real long season, but things could change. We can only hope, and yes I got off subject. Sorry! Just needed to throw this in.

I hate to see anyone lose their job, but that is what happens when you aren’t doing your job. Good choice, DD! And if he wants to do the same with Hux, I don’t think anyone would be upset. Just hope he finds the right guy to energize our offense.

Taking down decorations, then took a break to witness the second half. It was awful, everyone seemed to stand back and wait for Cat, and if they did shoot, it was brick city. Terrible shooting half, and lose a double digit lead, and the game in OT. Not good. We are in deep sh-t if this doesn’t change. We should have blowed them off the court. But we didn’t. Yet even then if we make FTs, we win. Shameful!
