It was said money got coach fired, and money chose Keatts. If that’s the case, there was no blank check that some of us were hoping for, which would have landed a mid major coach. If the check was 4-5 million, then we’re having a different conversation today. I read that Sean refused Arizona but they kept pursuing him, and he eventually went. We didn’t even get in the same room as Archie, what did we demonstrably do to show our commitment besides have an AD with one foot out the door put out feelers? The Sean/UNC comment hurts, UNC’s existence and “success” once again impeding things, what a long and ugly history there. Underdogs for life.
Although I hear people are not thrilled with Miller’s tourney resume. Think the pressure is on him to produce this year with all that talent he’s got. Maybe this explains his interest in UNC. There is a perception (by Zona fans at least) that it recruits for itself in a way that Zona does not.
I found an old Zona thread that talked about their embarrassing coach search, getting spurned by 6-7 coaches publically, including a Usc coach,chasing Miller of Xavier who had no interest, and entertaining Steve Lavin..no one really remembers that. Their AD persisted on Miller, and eventually got his man.
Is that why we did this? To save money? Marshall would have come for 5 mil, why didn’t we just pay him?
I still want to know why Sean wants the ACC all to himself just in case he can “upgrade” to academic fraud U? What is that all about?
This must mean Miller declined silently and we’ve been waiting on Keatts to lose to announce. That’s why waiting after tonight’s game didn’t matter.
So the first time it was Sweaty Gary poisoning the well and now it’s Sean vis Herb? And the media every time?
