I am in the middle of nowhere AL for work and just watched Archie and the 19-5 Dayton Flyers win a close one on ESPN 2. #BringArchieHome #GottGone
Somebody will pick Gott up and he will want one more chance somewhere else before going back into broadcasting so we want be on the hook for the full 2.4. We really need to go after Archie now before we lose him to a comparable, or at this point, much better school.
Does anyone know the amount of Gotts and Archies buyout? I know Dayton extended his contract last year to 2023. Hell it wouldn’t surprise me if Yow has given out another contract extension to Gott and the news release hasn’t come yet.
Also, I don’t want him fired or to resign until the end of the season. The last thing we need is to always hear from EZU fans that they got our coach fired because of this game. Let’s see how the season plays out first. We have the talent.
I don’t see how we get to bowl eligibility. I have no idea what his buyout is after this season but if he doesn’t get us to a bowl AND beat UNc he has to be released, right? This can’t be on Hux at this point. The head coach is allegedly a defense coach and DD decided to keep him around.
Not that I want to give him any credit but this may be more of a strategic comment. He probably wants off the Titanic(flagship).
I hope this team proves me wrong but I think they are wearing the new black uniforms for the ODU game because it will be the only evening home game this season. I wish they would save them for a bigger night game but I don’t think we will get the TV time for that.
Great summary. Glad the boards are back up for the season and hope participation continues to grow. Ready for Sat and what I would consider a successful season of 6-6.
