Front court is awful on offense. Sub .500 this yr unless Henderson gives 20 ppg.

Not just quick dumps but counter run plays as well. Linebackers were out of their league. If we can’t get some talent infusion soon, we’ll be right there with Cuse in the bottom of the Atlantic. Doeren needs to find his Wilson/Rivers or Irving player quick, and a DC that these players want to play for.

Wow, I’m rarely correct about anything, and I was sincerely hoping the 10 win dreamers were right.

Unfortunately I think we have a very similar ceiling next year only we could end up worse. I follow another board for recruiting info and it ain’t looking too good.

To the folks wondering about coaching, did you ever think that maybe they’re doing what they can with what they got? Not saying our players are bad, but we’re not elite. Coaches will recognize what they do best and call to their strengths. I don’t think any of our coaches are trying to be fired by going predictable or conservative without reason. Got to give these guys a real chance to build this program. Talk about firing Doreen or any coordinator needs to be backed up with a significant WPC donation, otherwise STFU.

    Cards aren’t that good

Wrong. You’re assuming they’re the same team you saw earlier in the season when they were struggling with the QB position and an identity.

Just basing my assessment on what I saw Saturday. They’re not that good – decent, but they’re probably going to go through this season without being ranked. Outside of a few skill positions and that DE that continually wrecked us, they weren’t impressive. I’ll give them this – they could win the Atlantic…the division isn’t all that and Clemson or FSU could melt down, but I still think chances are slim.

I don’t think scheduling is that big of a deal. If anything, easier teams should have provided the opportunities to hone the plays into a science. Just seems like the team wasn’t ready to play. The defense has been prone to giving up big plays since the season started. That hasn’t changed. O Line struggled and that’s not new. Cards aren’t that good, just good enough to make more plays than us. Game was winnable, Cards wanted it more.

On to VT. Another winnable game. Just hope the Pack has the right mindset this time.

All this optimism worries me. I don’t like the pace of the schedule at all. Clemson sandwiched between 4 road games. I’d consider it a decent position at 6-4 going into the Cuse/UNC games to end the regular season but 5-5 might be more realistic.

My prediction: 7-5 and a trip to the Pinstripe Bowl.

And while cry over a recruiting battle (that we just might win – keep the faith guys!), Coach K has nearly completed Duke’s transition into the Calipari Kinntucky model…and no one says a word. As a matter of fact, K’s reloading on one year talent is better than Cal’s this offseason. So K has molded his program after a guy who’s left his last two programs under sanctions; a guy who everyone suspects of cheating – and no one seems to be asking about it. Would love to hear someone ask K some tough questions and do some investigations. Somehow I doubt that happens…

Really? This bothers you? I couldn’t care less. Surprised it would bother anybody.

Doesn’t make sense but…good luck to KW. And good luck to us. We need it.

Best of luck to him and thanks for the season. Baffled as to how Roy is keeping Paige around (actually, not really since they do whatever they want & skirt consequences). And if this other word of transfer/going pro is true regarding KW, there’s going to be several holes to fill on what has been a lackluster recruiting off season for the team. Hope this is not taking Gott and the coaching staff by surprise…

Piri Piri is good stuff. Serranos are my favorite though. As for the Reaper, I’ve seen the hot sauces that use it but have not yet seen the actual pepper. Was it developed in “Carolina”?

Peppers – and lots of them (no julius though). Jalapenos, cayenne, habaneros, pablanos and serranos.

Would like to plant some ghost peppers again but would need to find a way to keep the shadow people and black eyed children from eating them up.

Bruce Pearl loves the Avery hire. Pretty baffling move for a school flush with cash.

KW transferring would make no sense and it would surprise me, but I’m not close to the program or players to know any better. His situation is golden: He’s in the front court rotation of a stable major program in a top conference with the potential to shine should he do the offseason work – which could lead to great draft potential in 2016. Why leave and have to sit a year, delaying that draft to 2017?

The first half of the LSU game drove me to bourbon, which was also my drink for the Nova game (although much less). I’ll be sipping that again tomorrow night – same bottle as well.

Does this give anyone else a feeling of closure? Not that this is a front burner issue anymore, but we all knew this would happen eventually. That our fanbase was beaten up about “chasing” this guy away, who was cast as the best NC State would ever do when it came to the HC, only to be now truly vindicated that Herb was indeed only a mediocre coach at best.

Not that I revel in guys getting fired, but Herb’s a millionaire so that should soften the blow. I’m sure he will land on his feet somewhere (Ivy League?). It’s just nice to finally be able to close the book and end the mythology that the rabid NC State lunatic fringe ran the so-called savior of our program out of town.

Edit: I love the comment in the linked article about Colorado wanting Herb.

Good for Mississippi St. That puts some pressure on Bama to make a good hire.
