    5 L’s and a trip to Birmingham.

We’ll have the obligatory switch of W/L for the upset win against someone we shouldn’t beat and a baffling upset loss.

Lack of consistency from the QB and kicker along with coaches that can’t get out of their own way will cost us unless we get some very lucky breaks.

PapaJ – so we’ve got one ready, an excuse that is. Good. But I still think we should be able to beat a team like Tenn St with 4 on the floor.

No worries on loans here. College was the best investment I ever made…it’s the gift that keeps on givin’. You should try it. Seriously.

And you may want to start pulling for Duke, Wake, or some other non-subsidized private school. Seems weird for someone to be anti-public university but then turn around and root for one athletically.

StateRed, get out of here and go to college. Quick, while it’s subsidized.

Why waste time with my ideas? You’ve got it figured out. Did you get a government subsidized education at any level, or are you all private schooled?

Geez, i’m tryna follow you. You want government torn down and college eradicated as an option for the vast majority. I’m just envisioning where that’ll take us.

    So Google > college

Got it. What a world we live in today. StateRed, it’ll be a paradise in the future when the government as we know it is torn down and colleges along with it. Everyone will know facts and use Google and live in the lap of luxury. Corruption will go the way of the dinosaur. I can hardly wait.

Fire them. College is predominantly a scam.

    Awesome.

A full week to prepare for Tennessee State. I’ll start to worry if we don’t win this one by a sizable margin.

Are you going to do anything about the college professors? Did you go to college? If so, have you burned your degree yet? What if your boy doesn’t burn it down?

Good one StateRed. I’m still laughing.

But what’s your response to “corruption”? what are you doing about it, other than moaning on a message board?

If you don’t know how to do research outside of news media sources then I’d suggest enrolling in a history 101 class at State or your local community college.

Media’s been talking about this pretty much all season, how Narduzzi gave complete offensive control to Canada. So nothing really new.

Canada’s the same as he’s always been. Same plays, over and over, just tweaks to tease the defense into messing up. From the link above:

Canada insists his scheme is “boring.” It sure didn’t look that way.

“We run the same plays over and over, just with different variations, from different formations,” he said. “People always ask, ‘What kind of offense do you have?’ An offense that scores points. That’s what I tell them.”

I still don’t miss him, but his season at Pitt is impressive. It wasn’t like Narduzzi was recruiting offensive superstars. Will Canada attract those recruits now?

I don’t necessarily miss Canada. But I do find it interesting that in the first scoring drive of the season, only Dayes and Samuels touched the ball. Sure teams are going to cue on them defensively, just like every team does for the best opposing players. Which is why I’m struggling to understand why we can’t get them the ball or develop a game plan for them to succeed. What’s the problem?

The Kitch solution sounds feasible but I don’t give the NC State athletic dept any credit for creativity or proactive decision making. It would coincide with the devil toasting spiked cider wearing a parka under a blue moon. In other words…

Could it be more Narduzzi plays or did DD have the reins on Canada to stay more vanilla with play calling?

The announcers for that VPI/Pitt game mentioned that when Narduzzi hired Canada, he told Canada the O was all his. Narduzzi apparently backed totally off interfering with whatever Canada wanted to do. I won’t link it, but the recent USA Today article that summarizes Doeren’s transition from last year recognizes that there was some tension in the locker room after changes were made last year. It’s worth a read (very brief), and unfortunately if correct shows that Doeren’s program is hurting bad.

How far different a conclusion? After a 17-0 1st Q in which State was out-gained 244 to -1 in yardage, keeping Finley in at QB, neglecting the running game and interior attack is playing the best how? Going into half at 44-0 is playing their best how? 14 yards total on the ground…I think they – D&D – left “best” in Raleigh and just shrugged their way through the majority of that game.

Going to be hard for me to get over that game with Louisville. If they stole our signals, it was unnecessary. Doeren and Drink hamstrung the team with both playcalling and the absolute refusal to put McClendon in with a different offensive scheme. Nothing was working offensively yet they kept going outside, knowing full well Louisville had the speed advantage. They get an excuse because we played a top 5 team away, a week after losing a heartbreaker. Well, I think they threw in the towel, the likes of which I haven’t seen in a long time. Not to at least try combining an interior rushing attack with Dayes and a different look at QB was inexcusable. 17-0 after the first quarter and no momentum means the game plan ain’t working. But giving Meyers and Locklear passing attempts was totally worth it right?

I think we beat BC, simply because they’re the worst offensive team in the league. Maybe our defense can get some confidence back after last week and go into FSU on better footing. If Finley’s tendencies are indeed known, then BC’s defense will take advantage and D&D will hopefully have a light turned on regarding changing up the QB situation.

They must think they have someone on the hook if they’re making that change.

    Plot twist! It’s Doeren.

    Shymalan-esque.

I bet it’s Herman or Fedora.

No thanks. Talent at LSU hides a lot of problems. Lower talent quotient brings out all the issues like clock management and complete inability to move the football.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him end up in the Big 10. Or just retire. He got $10M for leaving right?

@redisgood I don’t know the Siler City place but there’s a greasy joint in downtown Rocky Mount that sells some good burgers. Can’t remember the name though.

I find most high brow joints that sell $15/$20 burgers tend to be overthought and under-executed so I usually stay low brow for both burgers and dogs.

I’m not typically a fire-the-coach guy, but if things continue this way the guy’s got to go and we don’t need to wait until the end of the season. ODU is a chance to get some confidence back but if we get whipped by the Deacs after that there’s no reason to keep DD around.

3-6 record against NC schools out of which none are any good.
