ParticipantIs there some sort of team rule against guarding the wing on the baseline?
ILPackfan
ParticipantWBS with the breakaway layup!
ILPackfan
ParticipantWow…nice move by Lee in the lane.
ILPackfan
ParticipantNice pump fake by RT there.

ParticipantGood post. My personal feeling is that the NIT is the ceiling for this year’s squad (I hope not, but I’m also trying to be realistic). February is a pretty brutal stretch, and we’re at 2-4 with 12 games left. Best projection near as I can figure is 7-5 the rest of the way. That puts them at 9-9 and probably needing to make the ACC tournament final at least to have a puncher’s chance at getting into the NCAA (probably as a 9-13 seed if we do).
Winning against the Terps without Buckets? That was a good sign. The bad signs: this team is still young, still gets too careless with the ball, and doesn’t seem to move well enough in the half-court on either offense or defense. I hope that’s a downward trend.

ParticipantEven if it’s the Twerps, I hate to see 93 years of tradition getting flushed. But if it had to end, at least we got last taps. G’night, everybody.
ILPackfan
ParticipantAmen, Rick. Great bounceback from a beatdown in Cameron and losing Buckets 10 minutes before tipoff.
ILPackfan
ParticipantOkay, Lee has definitely had a better second half on both ends. Love the defense on Wells.

ParticipantCharge!
ILPackfan
ParticipantRalston!
ILPackfan
ParticipantRick: I see what you did there. LOL.

ParticipantWe need three minutes of smart basketball. Please, please, please. Smart basketball.
ILPackfan
ParticipantLot of guts being shown right now in the face of adversity. Hope they can pull out the win. If they’re able to do that without Buckets, it’s got to do wonders for their confidence.
ILPackfan
ParticipantWell, at least now it’s a competitive ugly game….
ILPackfan
ParticipantWe may be lucky to hit 30 against Syracuse.
ILPackfan
ParticipantOf course there’s a three as the buzzer sounds. And Lee has hurt as much as he has helped so far tonight.
ILPackfan
ParticipantA 22-6 run. Egad.
ILPackfan
ParticipantWow, us…the Twerps…the refs…ain’t nobody distinguishing themselves tonight.
ILPackfan
ParticipantBoy, they’re shooting like both teams have joined the B1G.
ILPackfan
ParticipantFastback: sprained ankle from the Duke game.
ILPackfan
ParticipantWe’re on pace for what, 16-13 at the half?
ILPackfan
ParticipantAnd now it looks like it’s going to be a rebounding contest.
ILPackfan
ParticipantAnybody know if Freeman is available tonight?
ILPackfan
ParticipantJust saw the news about Buckets. Here’s hoping for a competitive game. Good rebounding so far, at least.
ILPackfan
ParticipantThe moral victory, at this point, will be to keep the lead under 30. Good grief.
