Agreed. I like Tyler, but unless he develops a shot to keep the other guys honest, it’s too much liability on a team that hasn’t had consistent offensive balance this season.
Well, on the bright side, we’re staying right in this game despite the 39% shooting and Buckets having an off night. Hope they can pick it up in the last 10 minutes.
I like the rebounding and free throw statistics at the half. Did I hear right? Barber with 0 assists so far? Gotta improve that.
I’m just hoping for a competitive game tonight. But I’ve got bad feelings about playing ND in South Bend and Sherman in particular. Still, 1-1 in conference would look a lot better than 0-2, so here’s hoping the Pack can pull this one off.
Well, that should about do it. I realize there’s still over 5 minutes left, but this is not a team that’s going to make up double digits this close to the end.
If this game is going to come down to the Pack rebounding, getting defensive stops, and hitting from the outside, I have some concerns.
@Rick: I’m just hoping not to see another 10-minute field goal drought again this season.
I’m looking at this as a good early test.
The Pack has established that it prefers an open game with plenty of transition scoring. That ain’t going to happen against Pitt. So with this game and the Wahoos coming to town next Saturday, this team is going to have to adjust to a low-paced halfcourt game pretty quickly.
If they can do that, I’ve got a slightly better feeling about this team’s near-term prospects (being patient, making adjustments, etc.).
Alpha, I couldn’t agree more. This team cannot afford to let up, especially going into conference play.
